Protect Your Home – ADT Authorized Premier Provider

Was seriously considering signing up for the service but sent the salesman to talk to my boyfriend the next day (the true decision maker on the matter). He didn’t convince him with his great sales tactics and to follow it up, I got an incredibly passive aggressive text to to follow it up. I will be showing up at this office to complain in person. If this is what the service is like prior to signing up I can’t imagine how they treat existing customers.
Now I need a security system to keep the security salesman away.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Our Home security system doe not work probably! They refuse to send a technician out without charging us a fee, even when it was the company installer whom did not set it up properly.
ADT has the worst customer server we have ever experienced!!! They are trying to charge us a service fee to fix a flaw in our system that was the installers fault. We do not feel protected as they promised. We feel ripped off!!!
SCAM ALERT HIGHLY recommend going with another service provider!

Extremely frustrating company to deal with. Reminds me of talking to a major bank or credit card company. Customer service is lousey and they seem to not know their left hand from their right. I have had three billing issues in my first 30 days of being a customer and spent an hour on the phone with four representitives (two from «protect your home ADT and two from «ADT») before getting a resolution that was more than «we’re sorry sir, thats just the way it is». Hold times to customer service are extensive. Also make sure they tell you about their billing practices in advance, they have a clever way of rushing through that part or omitting it altogether. I have paid for three months of service within 30 days. You sign a contract for three years of service when the system is installed. I agreed to the contract but the service after the fact makes me wish I had’nt. The system seems to work fine so far, I just hope I don’t have to call them again anytime soon for help with anything.

Protect Your Home sold me on the installation of $ 1,000 worth of ADT home security monitoring in January 2011, then refused to assist me when the equipment they installed when it did not function correctly. After months of constant beeping and false alarms, ADT sent out a technician who said the Protect Your Home technician who initially installed the system had not done it correctly. Despite this, I was not refunded for the cost of installation, nor for any of the monthly fees paid for service. In December 2012, almost a year after installation, a Protect Your Home rep called me in response to a formal complaint letter I had sent to ADT and Protect Your Home, and told me ADT would be refunding my installation fees and monthly fees due to the fact that the service was not working. She initiated a three-​way call with an ADT rep who confirmed that I would be receiving a refund within two weeks. That money never arrived. To add insult to injury, I have recently received a collection notice (ADT apparently turned me over to collections) with a past due amount of over $ 900… which means now MY credit has been negatively affected by this company’s utter ineptitude and lack of customer service. I plan to post reviews all over the internet, to submit formal complaints to the BBB and Attorneys General, and to tell everyone I know about this fraudulent company. Buyer beware… we all need to be wary of companies like this ADT and Protect Your Home who prey on home owners security fears but whom are, in reality, part of the problem rather than the solution.
