I very highly recommend these guys. It’s always hard to find a mechanic you trust when you move to a new area like I did. Ultimately I came here because they are close to my job. I was very impressed with how friendly and professional they were, and never once felt like the mechanics were tying to sell me anything. More importantly their prices were very fair, they did good work, and they treated me very well. I’ve had to take my car in twice and have been very satisfied both times.

If I could give negative stars I would. These people are criminals for what they do to their customers. I have had previous services done by Raleigh Automotive but it wasn’t until recently I found out they had ripped me off. Two years ago my passenger window wouldn’t roll up but it would roll down. I had them look at it. They told me I needed a new motor and regulator. So I paid them approximately 380 $ I recently had this same situation happen to me with my driver side. I didn’t have the money to pay for a mechanic so I had a friend who is a mechanic look at my window. We found out it was just the switch not making a connection. All in all the part only cost me 20 $ and took me 7minutes to replace once I received the part. Seeing as how it was the same problem and I found electrical tape in the switch area when I took it apart I now know they did nothing to my car and only jimmy rigged my switch to make it work until this year when it finally broke.
I have contacted The Better Business Bureau and am in the process of filing a formal complaint.
My message here is… If you need automotive help please look elsewhere!!! Don’t let yourself fall victim to there vicious business practices! This place will only cost you more down the road!

They have an easy after hours drop-​off, and I had a return call with a diagnosis within a few hours. They quoted me a price and stuck to it despite an error on their estimate (part they quoted was actually more expensive for them). Car was done in hours and done right. Thank you!

Brought in my car and was given a quote of $ 4000 for repairs??? I was told the car needed serious work so while it was in the shop I decided to make arrangements to trade it in. Put $ 1200 in it to get it running and traded it in to the original shop I bought it from. The second shop– Integrity Auto– was FURRRIOUSSSS with the quote I waa given and ran a quote for the exact same repairs and it was LESS THAN HALF THE COST!!! Example: Raleigh Hills charged $ 337 for an ignition coil– a part you can buy off ebay for $ 100. On top of an insane mark up they charged another $ 103 for labor to put it in. AND! The coil that was put in was a used part??? To add insult to injury they charged me for diagnostics BUT were «kind» enough to give me an oil change for free. They also gave us $ 50 discount because my bf deploys. When I told RHA we were trading in the car they quickly sang a different tune– the car is fine! Just needs a little work. I didnt realize why their attitude changed until after i traded in the car– after getting a second quote it became clear we were targeted and grossly overcharged.
That all being said– it is my fault for not towing my car to another shop for a second opinion.
Lastly– if you want a couple of men to pretend like good-​ol boys/​fatherly and pressure you into repairs for «safetys sake» then by all means go here! I would prefer a shop that is honest and treats me and my bank account with respect. These guys are the very reason people cringe at the thought of car repairs!!! There are good shops out there– do yourself a favor and do your homework!

AWESOME, GREAT, KIND! I have been here twice, and one of the times they upheld a warranty for a radiator that another place put in. They went the extra mile to get the radiator from them, and were courteous and helpful. They really are a place of quality, and I believe i will go to them for all my future auto needs.

I have been going to Raleigh Hills Automotive for many years. At least 15 with this team and before that, when the shop was West Hills Tire and Brake. I have always had excellent service, fair pricing, help with rides home and rental cars if needed. I would trust Mike and Keith and the crew with anything to do with my car. And when it’s time for a new car, I will ask their help with that project too. Also, they kept my mom’s old Oldsmobile Diesel going for her for four years after my dad died, so she had reliable transport until she decided to give up driving. We were both very grateful.

These guys are great! They are all very friendly and honest! The price was fair and my car is running like its brand new again! I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

Super knowledgable and very upfront and honest. It was a large job and the prices were less than I expected. They were able to get the car repaired in a quick and timely manner.
I asked them about wheels and tires and they were knowledgable and not. manufacturer specific, like Les Schwab. They do not charge for Mounting, balancing, or to switch out TPMS stems. There tire prices were almost $ 300 less for a similar very good reviewed tire.
This will be the shop that my truck goes to for everything.

The guys at Raleigh hills are very friendly, they don’t oversell, and my car is always ready on time. I don’t go anywhere else.

Great service. personable, with reasonable prices. Quick turn around. During an oil change they found several small bulbs out and fixed them without charge. This is an old school repair shop that knows their cars, and will talk through your problems with your car, rather than mandating that a repair needs to be done. I have found my repair shop in Portland.

After my first experience where they charged me a good $ 200 more, and EVEN forgot a part, I went back to get a thermostat replaced. They charged me $ 115, for a THERMOSTAT! Before they told me that the part itself was $ 15, that it wouldn’t be expensive to replace, it actually ended up being a $ 56 part (which is a ridiculous markup, I KNOW thermostats aren’t expensive)…
I would strongly suggest that you STAY AWAY from Raleigh Hills Automotive, they’ll overcharge you, and pressure you into buying parts that you probably don’t need anyways.

I was a little hesitant reviewing this place because I don’t know anything about cars or repairs so I almost didn’t feel right…
I’m giving this place 1 star based on MY OWN experience. I’m not trying to sway anyone from going here, but I think people have the right to know what I’ve been through.
My very first visit to Raleigh Hills was great! Everyone was kind, helpful and they made me feel very comfortable. I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt and needed my brake fluid sensor replaced. I bought the part from a Chevy dealership for $ 10, but they wanted to charge me $ 170 in labor so I decided to look elsewhere. Raleigh Hills only quoted me $ 50 – SOLD.
The sensor still works fine so I have no complaints about that.
My second visit to Raleigh Hills was for an oil change. They told me about their complete service oil change (which is only $ 5 more than Jiffy Lube) during my first visit so I thought I’d go back, especially after having such a satisfactory experience the first time. They sold me on the fact that they not only change the oil, but they also rotate your tires, inspect the major components of your car (much like a 60k service), and completely clean out the old oil, rather than just replace it like Jiffy Lube does.
I received a call once the oil change was finished and they told me, over the phone, that they found some things wrong with my car. I assumed they would find SOME stuff because I have 63k miles on my car and I’ve only ever gotten oil changes. Something HAS to be wrong, right?
When I went in to pick up my car (and I’m looking at the sheet they gave me as I type this), they handed me a list of 10 things they wanted to repair. This list totaled $ 1000.95 in labor and $ 1183.26 in parts, $ 2,184.21 TOTAL!!! I literally couldn’t believe my eyes! I wanted to cry right then.
Among the list were repairs like, front struts, rear shocks (recommended), alignment (recommended if they do the struts and shocks), transmission cooler lines leaking, rear passenger tire (no tread left), transmission flush, Serp. belt cracked, belt tensioner, brake adjustment, etc… I don’t think I’ve ever felt so overwhelmed.
Again, they were VERY polite. They went through each individual item on the list and helped me understand what they meant and how they affected the integrity of my car. They also helped me prioritize the repairs (like, which repairs needed immediate attention and which did not). At this point, I felt a little better – not so overwhelmed.
After I left, I immediately called my dad and he suggested that I get a second opinion. I called two shops: Andy’s Auto in SE Portland and Mickey’s Auto in NE.
I took my car to Andy’s first and, after Rick looked at it, he told me that I didn’t need ANY of the things repaired that were on the list. He told me that the only thing he could see was that my transmission cooler lines had some seepage, but were definitely NOT leaking. He actually showed me where the cooler lines are and pointed out the seepage. I could tell right then that they weren’t full-​on leaking. He also showed me my belt that was supposedly «cracked» and said he couldn’t find any breakage and neither could I! He also said that if my tensioner was bad that I would be hearing all sorts of noises. I still haven’t heard a thing.
I was a little dumbfounded after leaving Andy’s. I couldn’t believe that a shop would erroneously inspect my car, especially when they were quoting me over $ 2,000!
I decided to take my car to Mickey’s (this morning, actually) to see if maybe they’d come to another conclusion – maybe Andy’s was wrong? NO. They told me, literally, the exact same thing. And, this time, there were two people inspecting my car – Mickey and his assistant. In so many words, they told me the list that I had received from Raleigh Hills was horse poop and that there’s NOTHING wrong with my car – «not a damn thing.» Again, the only thing that Mickey’s noticed was the seepage on my cooler lines and they told me that you can drive like that for 10 years without anything happening, especially since it’s not a full-​on leak! Woah.
So, after all of this and two second opinions, I’ve decided to give it a rest. I’m exhausted and disappointed. Apparently, my car DOESN’T need over $ 2,000 in repairs… And, I won’t be going back, not even for an oil change, which is unfortunate because they’re right near my apartment. I’m just afraid of what they might tell me next.
For honest, no-​BS, mechanics, I’d definitely recommend Andy’s Auto Supply on 21^st and Powell in SE Portland and Mickey’s Automotive on 60^th and Holladay in NE Portland. Both of these shops could’ve taken advantage of me, especially since it’s obvious that I don’t know anything about cars but, instead, they were pleasant and honest and straight-​to-​the-​point.
Oh, did I mention that my boyfriend took his car in a day after mine to get an oil change and Raleigh Hills told him that he needs an entirely new exhaust system? I told him to get a second opinion.

Buyer beware!!! I can only assume that the other reviews for this place were written by the same scam artists that run it. I took my truck in for a $ 150 part replacement. They quoted $ 387 just for the part, then tried to claim the 250% markup was «reasonable.» They also tried to sell me several hundred dollars worth of «necessary» repairs for things that were not broken. I was a mechanic for 6 years and know that not all mechanics are crooks. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS; TAKE YOUR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Raleigh Hills has great customer servie, they are very honest, and treat me with respect. This is a family business that is out to take care of their customers. I only take my car here, that includes oil changes, regular maintenance, and any other problems that pop up. They are especially fond of Hondas.

Had a tire loosing air relatively quickly and needed it checked out and fixed as soon as possible. Even though Raleigh Hills looked busy, they took my car right in, found the leak, and patched it up within 15 minutes for around $ 15. Seemed like a great bunch of guys working there as I chatted with the owner (or seemed like the owner) for a good portion of the time. Stuck with 4 stars only because I didn’t get any major work there and couldn’t really say how that would turn out (but they did have customers rolling in with appointments).
