Regal Cinemas Lloyd Center 10 & IMAX

The reason why I am giving them a single start is the fact that if you going to be a by the book movie theater you do it that way. My girlfriend and I were waiting for our tickets to get taken by the usher when he asked to look at my girlfriends purse witch was confusing but got us irritated and mad when he didn’t check any other girls purse before us. We called him out on and he just look more dumber than ever. This guy was an African America fella. I think it was maybe because we were younger age (21) than the crow the that looked like late (20s) but still one on man you have to be fair that’s pretty messed up to assume and then not check other people. Bad place and on top seats are horrible.

The theater inside the mall was much nicer, they should have kept it and closed this one instead.
The parking lot is askew and even though the theater and parking lot take up most of a city block, there are entrances from only one side, making it difficult to get in and out. The neighborhood is downright frightening, and most importantly, the restrooms are not accessible.
Service for concessions is slow. The décor is very dated. Inside the theater, the seats are extremely tall and the room not very sloped so even someone of average height cannot see the entire screen. The floor was partially sticky and partially slippery in different areas, like some of it had carpet and some was smooth. They left bright lights on all over the floors that were a big distraction from the screen.
Please at least bring the restrooms up to code; Today.

This is the theatre I go to more than any other in Portland, nice staff, only once have I had to deal with someone with a rude/​nasty attitude and that was from a ticket box attendant, an older lady with blonde hair the day I went to see the new Star Wars movie on Monday December 21^st. Her bad attitude was so jarring that I considered not coming back to this theatre again.
The ONLY reason I’m giving this review 4 stars, rather than a 1 (if it were solely based on that woman’s horrible service) is because of Miguel, he stepped in and corrected the situation in such a kind, respectful and above and beyond way, that it compelled me to post a review. So thank you Miguel, the rest of the staff should be taking notes from your example.
I have to admit she is the only bad apple in the bunch, in all the 15 years I’ve been to this Regal location.

Went to see the new Star Wars movie yesterday in 3D IMAX, so paid $ 18/​ticket. The screen was off (blank) during all of the previews, so there was only audio. Then throughout the movie there was a weird glare and light streaks on the inside of the 3D glasses. At first I thought that either I had a bad pair or that there was something wrong with my eyes. I traded glasses with one of my kids and my wife; all the same, so I thought it was something with my eyes until after the movie when I talked to my wife. She had experiences the same thing, and she realized that it was because they didn’t turn the overheard house lights off all the way during the whole movie. Very distracting and frustrating experience.

We paid $ 20 for non-​3D seats to Star Wars to IMAX and there was NO SEATING for 3D. Last time I ever do that. The manager was incredibly rude.
I’m just happy to see it elsewhere next time.
DONT SELL SEATS for a movie in 3D that don’t EXIST.

I always prefer going to a smaller, pub theater but when you want to see a big blockbuster, this is always my preferred theater.

Asked for a refund for my stale popcorn. They brought me a new one instead of a refund, but didn’t put any butter on it. Brought the popcorn to the same counter guy after movie. He apologized, but no refund. I have no reason to return to this regal theater.

One of my friends is Deaf, we went to the movies for my birthday and we called ahead to make sure they had the caption box (they said they had 5), when we got there and my friend went to get her ticket and a box, she was told they only had the glasses which she doesnt like. Obviously their staff is not trained well enough to know about all accomodation options at their theater. I (a hearing person) had to go clarify with a manager about what she needed, which is totally disempowering for her and really unecessary. She should have been provided a visual way to ask for what she wanted and the staff should know what the theater offers. We got the box, were told it was all set up yet there were no captions for the previews and when the movie started, my boyfriend had to go get another box because the first one was still not working. This meant she had to miss the first few minutes of the movie, which obviously no other paying customer had to deal with. The saving grace of this theater is that when we complained after the movie the manager seemed receptive to our comments, was apologetic, and immediately refunded my friends ticket.
If you are Deaf or HOH, bring a picture of the caption box or they won’t know what youre talking about. There is also a poster on the right where you give them your ticket that shows the glasses and the box. You can point to that too. No one should have their accessibility options limited because of staff ignorance. Get your money back if this happens to you. And if you have a lot of Deaf people in a group, they only have 5 boxes and probably 5 or 10 glasses. So call and reserve what you need in advance.

This is your typical regal theater. It can get crowded so try and get there early if it’s a popular movie. I’ve never had any issues here, besides waiting in line. Which of course is typical when you go to the movies. I have been here for a première night and the lines can get quite long.
They do sell beer and wine now. I was surprised as the draft beer was $ 5.99. They had a lot of local beer options.

The IMAX theater is really nice, but this theater really needs to schedule more people to work concessions during busy times. Every time I’ve come here when it’s busy (Friday/​Saturday nights), the lines at concessions are ridiculous. You’d think management would schedule more than two people to ring up popcorn and candy when the theater is packed.

Another Regal Cinemas theatre… nothing totally special or new… but an overall pretty good spot to catch a movie. They have about 12 rooms and offer 3-​D and IMAX. I don’t think the IMAX is necessarily true to the configurations of a typical screen for these movies. It would be nice if the screen curved more and wrapped around the sides of the room but the picture quality is still amazing.
Food and drinks here are the typical high prices. They do offer beer and wine at about $ 7 a cup.
The location of this place is great. There isn’t much else around showing the latest film releases. I have heard rumors that they will be closing this place soon and that will be a sad day. This place has been here a long time and I have seen a lot of good shows here. Corporate but legit. This place is Regal.

I would give this theater a four star review if they would find a way to have handicapped bathroom stalls. There is a reason the ADA mandates them, and I find it hard to believe they have never been called out on this issue before. Lame, Regal Cinemas. You can do better.

Let’s start here: The sound was horrible. We couldn’t tell if it was some gimmick they were using to make everyone sound like they were talking through radios, but about 20 minutes into the film, it became clear that nobody should sound like that when talking.
The sound system had gone out.
They professionally asked people to be patient and refunded the purchase for those who asked to leave. Then at the end of the show (they were able to salvage most of the audio equipment, save for the blown speakers) they handed out free movie passes to every individual.

Wish I could review without stars. I guess that’s called a tip? Had too much to say for a tip though.
First of all: I don’t go to see a movie out in public more than a couple times per year. By choice and from experience I just prefer my comfy chair at home and my own screen and volume and pause and bathroom etc. yeah, I am one of those people. So I watch most movies later than the masses… except…I make the effort to get to a big screen new Pixar film :) heck yeah Amy Poehler!
I was hoping for frigid air conditioning due to the new normal in the 90s here in New Phoenix and the AC sure beats my house temp but it could have been colder.
They sell beer! Total surprise. Yes, please, I will have a Ninkasi while surrounded by dozens of kids in a PG movie. Is that strange? Guess not. Truth be told usually the adults are way more annoying than the kids.
It’s the Lloyd Center and I hear they are tearing that whole block down and putting in 1,000 units. I much prefer watching most movies at home but when it’s worth seeing on a big screen it just is.

Terribly uncomfortable seats, relatively small screens, and a lack of stadium seating make this Regal Cinemas theater across from Lloyd Center a really dated movie-​going experience. We saw Mad Max — Fury Road opening weekend and the theater was packed with a 20-​minute line to buy tickets, but, afterwards, both my wife and I wished we’d gone some place nicer.

totally normal but nice facility. i actually like that it’s a bit smaller than some of the super huge complexes.
they hosted an event for us once and were really sweet to us. personal projectionist who intro’d the screening with a clever edge to him.
it’s right in the middel of né so it’s easy for central folks with lots of parking!

There are worse theaters in Portland, but not many (the sister theater inside the mall is the worst – it’s childcare for mall shoppers). Lacks stadium seating but the seats have a decent recline. I’m average height (5′ 8″, that’s average, look it up) and have decent leg room. If you’re 6′ or taller you might not.
They do have good sound and digital projection. I hate IMAX so don’t know how that theater is., seating-​wise.

it’s absolutely everything that you should expect from a large movie theater. Numerous showings, imax 3D showings, reclining chairs, stadium style seating, and those illuminated emergency exits on both isles.
Now for the lows:]
–the cheese dispenser looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The popcorn hasn’t been refreshed, rather the new popcorn gets tossed on top of the old stuff. the napkins are thinner than thin. The concession stand products are typical and the prices are outrages.

They added ALCOHOL! heck yes!
well Beer & Wine alcohol that is, an IPA and Stout (others I don’t recall) plus a red & white wine, check yes!
Now I can get my buzz and fall asleep a lot sooner at my overpriced movie:)

The Lloyd Center Cinema 10 is your standard movie theater. Don’t mistake that statement for «standard Portland movie theater” — no. This is /​just/​your standard, run of the mill Regal Cinema, aka «a place to go to watch movies that just came out.» If that sounds a little depressing, that’s because it is. But you know, we’re not in Arkansas (Arkansas is not a cool, hip place, right?) Movie theaters in Portland aren’t just grey and drab and full of employees who clearly are not enjoying their time working at a movie theater. Some of the movie theaters in Portland are magical places, where people volunteer to take your ticket stub, and the micro brews and hot pizzas are a-​flowin’.
The prices at the Lloyd Center Cinema are not too bad (compared to LA or NYC where you could end up paying close to $ 20 for 1 movie ticket). The atmosphere though is horrible. I think it smells terrible in there, and more often than not, a few of their toilets will be clogged, and the crowd here is definitely bridge & tunnel (nothing wrong with that– just saying). On the plus side, they do play a lot of movies, and their theaters aren’t teeny weeny (shout out to LA’s Beverly Center movie theater, if you have ever had the great pleasure of watching a movie there). Also on the plus side, they serve beer/​cider/​wine at the Lloyd Center Cinema– and for only $ 6.50! What a deal. Jk.
Ok, I am definitely hating on this movie theater, even though I went into this review thinking that I may have more positive things to say than negative. There seems to be ample parking at the theater, including covered bike parking. The theater staff here is nice– they just give off the impression that they are stuck at a lame, drab, smelly gig. I appreciate them and their efforts though. I think my conclusion here might be that Regal really needs to renovate and upgrade this theater. If they could give it a better, more fun-​look, they could drastically improve the audience’s experience. They should also consider upgrading their food, and more competitively pricing their concessions to the local theaters (shout out to the Hollywood, the best theater in town.)

This theatre is located near Llyod mall and the parking is super easy – own open lot right outside. We came here on Thursday night to watch The Amazing Spiderman II and the theatre was big, clean, and screen/​sound quality was excellent. We ordered a large popcorn and large soda, while pricy, they were LARGE. I love that they give buckets instead of paper bags for popcorn, and their soda cups are sturdy plastic and not paper cups that get soggy after 30 minutes. There were plenty of seating and the chairs were comfortable with lots of leg room. There wasn’t stadium seating, but lucky for us it was not crowded that night and there was no one in the row in front of us.
While leaving the theatre a little after midnight, there were two cop cars outside with some pedestrians. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy at night and the parking lot was not well-​lit enough. We weren’t sure what happened, but I think the theatre should provide more lighting in the parking lot for the safety of their customers. Other than that, it was a great movie experience.
