Wet burritos, fish tacos, and their nachos I would strongly recommend. This place is awesome! I’m from Washington and go to Portland frequently to visit my family, this restaurant is a must stop and eat every time before we come back home.

I love this great little neighborhood place. Great margaritas, great burritos and best of all great pricing. I’m shocked at the negative reviews. I’ve NEVER had a bad meal here. Can’t wait to go again.

Me and my wife just moved from Texas and really miss Mexican food so we gave this place a try. The food was bland and watery. The service wasn’t welcoming which is unlike most businesses in Sellwood. We will continue our search for quality Mexican food elsewhere.

This place use to be really good, now it’s been poor service and really bad quality of food. I’m a chef and I can see the difference of quality food this one it’s been just poor. I use to go there a lot with my wife, I was really hungry I order 5 tacos and I have to wait 20 minutes to get my food I order tacos al pastor and I got something else instead I didn’t say anything because I was really hungry and I didn’t want to wait more. So the food I got was really bad to bland no flavor and that place smells really bad too. I will not going back to that place again. P. S. la Sirenita it’s doing so much better.

I really want to absolutely love this place because it’s so close and so convenient… sadly I can’t. So let me begin with the good: the tortillas. There it was the good. The mediocre comes with the salsa. You can’t run a great Mexican restaurant with good tortillas and mediocre salsa. I guess I should take a step back, I’m from San Francisco where I became very spoiled by really amazing burritos, so I’m picky… sue me! The one thing I would recommend is if you order the fish taco or fish burrito order it GRILLED(not listed on the menu). Otherwise it’s like eating a crab or fish cake inside your burrito which is not the lightest of faire. Overall a decent place for burrito — ketchup like salsa with the over-salted chips and meh burritos. But like I said I really WANT to like the place so 3 stars it is.

Amazing food with a special flavor in just about every dish I have had. The prices are too high. Take a look on the front board for specials if your budget is tight, they can be pretty good. The food is so esta muy bien that im giving it 4 stars. They have this fun little drink booth in the back dining area that tries to resemble a Mexican beach resort, which can be a nice touch around January and February when the rain won’t stop and it’s hella cold. In the summer(or good weather) you can sit outside which is nice as well.

I’m not entirely sure I get this place. They advertise as if they have the best fish tacos that have ever been presented on a plate; however, I certainly beg to differ. The sauce they use tastes like McDonald’s special sauce, which actually makes it taste like a fast food fish sandwich, rather than authentic fish tacos. Maybe it’s because I’m from Austin, but fish tacos should NOT taste anything like that. The one plus I give to them is the selection of salsas. Everything from tomatillo to roja to verde is available, and they’re all pretty good. Problem is, the food you put the salsa on leaves a lot to be desired.

It’s funny how once a place gets good business, they raise prices and the food quality goes down. Wait, that’s not funny, that sucks the life out of you. San Felipe used to have huge burritos for $ 4.99. Now they have small burritos for $ 5.99. They used to have tortas, probably their best meal, for $ 4.99. Now they’re $ 5.99. They used to have the owner making the meals, now they have high school girls. I wouldn’t mind the high schoolers if they didn’t remind me all the time about what I didn’t want my kids to become. Lay off the makeup will you please? Even the Seasons and Regions waitresses don’t wear that much, for the love of God!!! Here’s a tip, if you look more orange than the carnitas, you look like a freak. Anyways, back to the point, this place is still all right for a meal but just not what it was. Maybe y’all aren’t like me where if something costs more and tastes worse than when things were cheaper y’all wouldn’t have a problem. I have a problem with it, but this place still beats Cha! Cha! Cha! even if their food isn’t as good as it was.
