I fell in love with this place. Hands down. I stayed down the street from this shop, walked in after breakfast, and talked to the guy at the counter(Lance) about a whole ton of things! He was very knowledgeable of Portland area(thanks for the awesome guidance!) and definitely appreciated the local art, and art in general. So if you’re coming in from outta town, this should be a place that you stop by! Thanks again for an awesome Portland experience!

Screaming sky is a mecca of awesome local and indie art. The walls are covered in pieces both cute and strange while shelves full of stuffed creatures and vinyl figures are peppered through the store. Unique jewelry and camera gear fill glass cases and a big display of pins lines the counter. We left with a variety of prints and pins, happy to support the local art scene.

What a fun shop! So many little trinckets and things that you don’t really need but you actually NEED. I found myself buying stocking stuffer gifts for my nursing friends there. The employee was so sweet and very helpful. She even wrapped the cute little pins that I got for free.

Alberta is awesome in and of itself but Screaming Sky is what keeps me coming back. Such a great collection of unique, independent curated art, as well as the pop /kid robot variety. The staff is welcoming and overall a great experience.

I’ve stopped by Screaming Sky on every trip I’ve made to Portland in recent years and found a small treasure to bring back with me each time. They have a fantastic, interesting, and unique selection of art, jewelry, toys, and comics. The staff is lovely, and they were extremely helpful when I needed to replace the chain on a necklace I purchased recently – despite the fact that I live in Los Angeles and the entire process had to be conducted from a distance. Fantastic communication and everything was handled as promptly as possible. I’ll be back on my next PDX visit!

2025NE Alberta street I found this place by accident while waiting for a breakfast order on the same block. This place is a cute little kitsch shop that has all sorts of cool stuff for both kids and adult kids. I bought 3 issues of Mr, Toast comics. Very awesome customer service. She went above and beyond for me.

This shop was too amazing for words. It’s like a small art gallery for«nerds.» When I entered the store the first thing I saw were vegan taxidermy wall mounts, which are basically cute animal wall mounts made of what looked to be yarn. To the right of the wall mounts, I found amazing animal in suits portraits made by Ryan Berkeley, a local artist. They are a must see if you love animals and fashion. There is also a good selection of Funko Pop! Vinyls, jewelry, art, plushies, etc. They even sell Kidrobot here! If you’re into«geeky» collectibles and art like me, you’re sure to love this shop.

Delightful vinyl art, collectible art and small gallery. You can find something here for anyone in your list. They have kidrobot, local artisan jewelery, prints, tokidoki, etc. The staff is wonderful. It’s next to this wildly popular ice-cream store so the whole place smells of fresh waffle comes. Win win.

This is definitely an awesome little shop, with one of the most enthusiastic door greeters I’ve ever met. There is a great selection of unique arts and felt animal head displays on the wall, and too many unique and cute pins to count. It definitely captured my attention, and if it weren’t for the fact that my wallet has already been strained beyond its mortal limits, I would have bought some for the folks at home. Thank goodness my girlfriend as already with me so I didn’t have to buy her any Portland-made trinkets.

Art and kitch and oddball figurines, and I’m not even scratching the surface. Internal organ stickers, random buttons, cardboard space ships, the Portland bridges in many forms, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Evel Fett, The Screaming Hand keychain, local art prints, handmade skull, Star Wars, friendly staff, scavenger hunt for an extra 20% off, Game of Thrones stuff, more figurines. The place is very random, but it seems to make sense. I will admit that the famous severed heads art display is unusual but it is painted very well. If you don’t know where Screaming Sky is, well, I guess you haven’t been to Salt & Straw because it’s just to the left of it. It’s a cool little shop to browse in while you wait on the forever lines for ice cream. Occasionally you might even find some cool art prints. Seek out this place. It’s pretty cool. Enjoy.

I adore this shop! It’s full from floor to ceiling with amazing art, toys, books, collectibles, and plenty of other unique items. It has a great mix of stuff by local artists and by others out of the state and country. The perfect place to find unique gifts or just something awesome for yourself. The sales rep was super friendly and had a super cute outfit on. She made the my whole shopping experience awesome. Can’t wait to go back when I’m in Portland again!

When I need to buy a unique«Portland» gift this is my go-to store. Nestled behind Salt and Straw you almost miss the store when there is a line. They feature local artists prints at great prices. You can purchase the prints framed or unframed. They also have jewelry, knickknacks, toys and other collectables. Most of the items appeal to the«geek» element. Spend some time looking around and you’re bound to find something either as a gift or something you can’t live without. The staff is super nice and the art and toys change frequently. I’ve purchased all sorts of little gifts here and everyone has loved them.(Also has a great Unilocal check-in discount.)

I haven’t been able to attend Comic-Con in a couple years so stepping through the doors at Screaming Sky brought on a rush of excitement and geeky wonder I’ve been missing. From limited edition art prints to chase urban vinyl toys, the shelves are stocked with every kind of collectible fare to make my eyes wide, my wallet hurt, and«oh cool!» the extent of my vocabulary as I dart from section to section. The geekery of kitschy, pop-culture/comicbook/sci-fi collectible things aren’t appealing to everyone, but I think there’s a good selection of eccentric art here, too, to draw your eye. The quaint little shoppe has more an aire of curated gallery than nerd haven, and is staffed by [at least] two knowledgeable enthusiasts. Very approachable and friendly! Bonus! Part of the stores policy for blind box collectibles — if you open your item in-store and like the display item better, you can trade it! I walked away from my visit giddy — with two Bruce Lee figures and a Street Fighter keychain — finally having spent a little money in Portland on physical mementos, rather than luxuriant food & drink.(Okay, yes, fat is a physical memento too, I guess.) Definitely looking forward to visiting again, next time I’m in Portland! ______________________________ «What did you do in Portland?» «Drank beer, climbed rocks, ate donuts, bought toys.» «…» “I’M NEVERGONNAGROWUP!”

Best store ever. Being a vinyl you collector, I was really surprised to see so many toys I had never even seen/heard of before. And I’m not too hipster to admit that. Worth trekking as far as you have to go to get here. They people working here are also the nicest, most informative, and helpful people ever.

Looking for an awesome, affordable place to buy some of Portland’s best local art? Look no further than Screaming Sky. I was actually in the Alberta neighborhood to look at another one of their many art shops, and I decided to come in here based on other Unilocal reviews… and boy am I glad I did! I found some amazing local artist prints(by an artist called The Black Apple… check her out!) for $ 16 each and an assortment of other fun collectibles(they’re toys, but it makes me feel better to call them collectibles) such as kid robot Futurama toys and an Alien toy with the alien creature attached to Kane’s face. When the employee heard me mention they were gifts, he proceeded to wrap them at no extra cost(and the wrapping looked great!). Don’t stop by the Alberta Arts district looking for great local art without checking out Screaming Sky. The best local artists at the best prices. *Tip — They also had an awesome Unilocal discount at the time I made my purchase, so be sure to check in if you go here to see if it’s still available.

I wish Screaming Sky was in Vancouver, BC. The vinyl selection is awesome and their in store trade up program is even cooler. The only thing I wished they had was more art work on the walls(they already had a lot). I guess there is only so much wall space in a store. We’ll be visiting again within a year.

If I lived here, I would just route my paycheck to Screaming Sky. Seriously, one of the coolest vinyl toys and modern toy shops for adults(get your mind out of the gutter …) I have ever seen. The store definitely isn’t big, but it’s big enough to house a ton of Kidrobot gear including clothing and accessories. They even had some unique, one-off production or specialty Kidrobot production toys that were long sold out elsewhere. Plus, lets talk price here. I mean it’s great if you find a unique piece but if it costs you a gazillion bucks its not really a great deal. This place was definitely awesome in that it was priced well for budget conscious as well as those who were looking to splurge … since you could splurge a lot less. Definitely a MUST stop for Kidrobot & other vinyl toys!

Cute little shop, with everything that my friends and I would want. Kid Robot, Tokidoki, and other random stuff. Every little random collectible, display item, button, pen that you could ever want is there! Friendly staff. Great selection. Blind boxes galore!
