SE Main St. Max Station

Southeast Main Street MAX Station could easily have been done better. It is close to Mall 205, but there could be a few more crosswalks. The Green Line is the only line which goes here, so be prepared to wait. There is seating, but it is not well-​shaded. Despite the heat, no effort was put into there being a drinking fountain here. You can also use the I-​205 Multi-​Use Path for some exercise.
I walked up here after having been to this station before. Getting out of Mall 205 was very easy. It was unfortunate that I had to wait fifteen minutes for my train. They do display waits on a screen though.
Southeast Main Street MAX Station is radically acceptable.

The MAX Green Line runs to within 1 mile of my house now, and while I wouldn’t mind having it a little closer, far be it from me to complain. Living in the ghetto has it’s down sides… what can I say?
This is the closest stop to my house, and the one I most frequently spend time at on the Green Line. It’s all nice and new and clean, and being on a new/​less-​traveled line, it’s not as beat up and abused as some of the more established Red Line platforms. Utilitarian but pleasant-​to-​look at landscaping, light, fresh concrete, and «transit-​art» dominate this otherwise stark spot. It has a decent amount of parking for the park/​ride types and ample waiting space on the platform.
The one real down-​side to this location is the access. I cross the 205 on Main to approach the station, and I am invariably on foot. There is no sidewalk on the side of the street where the MAX stop sits, so I either have to walk in the street (never a good idea this far from the city center) or on a little traffic-​worn dirt strip along the side of the road.
Add in that when approaching from the south, the first ingress point you hit is the driveway, all nice and new with fresh blacktop… and no sidewalk. So I have the choice to either walk down the middle of the driveway or continue along the non-​sidewalked street for a good 40 – 50 yards before I get to a pedestrian path ingress. Neither is a particularly safe or convenient choice, especially after dark.
Other than this little piece of poor planning (assuming that all travelers of public transport are approaching in a car is pretty ass-​backwards, if you ask me), this stop serves my public transit needs.
