This place was gluten free paradise. Absolutely the best gluten free pizza crust I’ve ever had, and gluten free cheese bread and even dessert(hot gluten free brownie with ice cream). The owners were always super nice and seemed to truly care about their customers. I’m not sure what happened or why they went away, but I hope they read this and know that they are missed. Also, if they ever read this and want to send me the recipe for the gluten free pizza crust, feel free to do so!

Hands down the best gluten free pizza in Portland(and I’ve tried them all!). The crust is soft and fluffy and they can make any of their appetizers gf too! A great variety of pizzas. And the service is outstanding — they really make you feel like you’re an old friend and are always welcoming.

I went here last night for the first time with my 2 year old son. The one thing that really stands out is the service. It is rare to visit a place that is as friendly and accommodating as Sellwood Pizza Kitchen. The locations itself is very well decorated with a nice lay out. It is also spotless inside, including the restroom(which is a big concern with young kids touching everything!). Finally, the food was great. I really liked the crust, and the ingredients are obviously fresh. Also, the price was very fair for what you get. We will back many times!

Good. Nothing too remarkable. A little on the expensive side though.

Sellwood Pizza Kitchen has absolutely delicious pizza with perfect(chewy) crust,(I love the carmelized onion with Kalamata olives), great service, and fabulous salads(try the Greek with pepperoncinis; they actually toss it for you in their delicious vinaigrette). Yum!

Best pizza in town by far! They have dialed in the perfect crust! Family owned and the owners are very attentive and genuine. You cannot miss this place! Try Nona’s Favorite pizza. Yum!

The gluten free pizza is the best I’ve had, but I haven’t ventured far after trying theirs. We’ve gotten the meatball pizza every time. Yum. Their prices are a little steep, but are manageable for every once in a while. Don’t bother calling ahead, just be prepared to stay while. I tried once, but when I arrived a few minutes late apologizing, they hadn’t even started my pizza yet. Then I had a twenty minute wait with no acknowledgement. But it was tasty as ever.

Wow. I somehow thought Pizzicato and Roma were going to the only pizza choices in the Moreland/Sellwood area. I will first say that the pizza is pretty darn good looking even for gourmet pizza standards. The crust was a good balance between tough and chewy. The taste of the sauce and cheese was nothing exceptional but still combined to make an overall good pizza. The atmosphere was relatively quiet with a little bit loud soft jazz. I do agree with others that the price was rather high for the amount of pizza you get. It looks like they offer take-out/delivery if that’s your bag. I would return again to try other pizzas and see if there is any deviation in the service. I heard Davinci’s was not very good and wonder if this restaurant is truly new or just got renamed.

Mom and pop pizza place that puts an emphasis on their ‘made with love’ experience. The service is attentive and welcoming and the pizza is awesome. It’s kind of pricey, but it’s within walking distance for me, so I don’t mind. Will definitely be returning… often.

Tried it the other night. The guy that I assumed to be the owner wasn’t all that friendly and seemed in a rush, even though there was hardly anyone in there. Prices are really high, we paid $ 17.50 for a «medium» veg pizza that would have been a «small» elsewhere(and a lot less $$). Crust had no flavor at all. The topping was very fresh and clearly high quality but again a bit bland. They close early(8:30) which may be a reflection of the Sellwood«the sidewalks roll up early here» ethos. The focus here seems to be on gourmet ingredients and fine wines. But there really isn’t much to recommend this place over, say, the nearby Pizzicato(which is open later, has better service, better prices, tastier food). BTW, the business name is now Sellwood Pizza Kitchen.

We checked out this place(now called Sellwood Pizza Kitchen) for their gluten-free pizza crust. The crust didn’t knock my socks off, but then I’m not a celiac, just trying to avoid wheat, so my memory of what good pizza crust is like is still fresh. :) The owner came over to get our feedback on it, and took our suggestions well for making the crust more crispy(they need to deck it to make the bottom less spongy, because the edges were fine.) Anyway, we got a pie with pepperoni, sausage and onions, and it was delicious. The(housemade!) sausage was an herby sweet-italian style, and fantastic. We also had a «small» greek salad, which was an entrée-sized salad, big enough for both of us. Scared to think how big the large one is. They also brewed up fresh iced tea for us when we ordered. Super nice owners who really take pride in what they are serving.

Without hesitation I say this is the tastiest pizza I’ve eaten in Portland. Having said that, I was a little put off by the price. $ 22 for a «large» pizza that is really a «medium.» If I’m going to pay $ 20+ for a Pizza, I expect leftovers for at least two days. Not here. Don’t arrive just when(or just before) they open, at 4:00, because they won’t be very happy to see you. Better to show up a bit after 4, after they’ve had a chance to get in their groove. Very tasty, but too $$$. I’ll be going back to Bellagios for bigger, cheaper pizza with enough for leftovers. Except when I really need

Pizza is like sex. Even when it’s bad, it is still kind of good. Following this same line of skewed reasoning, Apizza Scholls would have to be considered a no holds barred Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie flesh & sweat sandwich romp. Dominos is the toothless $ 10 hooker from 82nd; it doesn’t taste good but after a night of debauchery it does the trick. For me, Pizzacato has always been that semi attractive girl next door, the one you pass by on the way to work, maybe exchange a pleasant smile with, but doesn’t normally make an appearance in your mind’s fantasy playland where latex clad midgets, big breasted bimbos and Kim V’s Mom get down and dirty on a daily basis. When she first moved into town, sure, we fooled around a little, but nothing serious. A quick slice here, a tossed salad there, but nothing regular. Nothing that kept me coming back for more. We eventually parted ways. I found other hand tossed partners and in the end she wasn’t even in the running when needing a late night pizza booty call. The years have passed, but the other day, the TLB and I, desperate to expand our horizons and satisfy our culinary curiosities, decided to ring her up, invite her over for dinner, have some wine, put on some moves and see what happens. Well, let’s just say since our last encounter, she seems to have added a few tricks to her repertoire. Behind the demure and understated exterior, was a buffet of goodness; a clean and inviting destination, offering some combinations not seen before and flavors that were above and beyond a typical one night pizza stand. We were both equally impressed and satisfied. Her number has since found its way into our little black book. I’m thinking we might just have to make her into a regular affair. In fact, I might have to see what she is doing this weekend. Maybe invite her over to watch the game, introduce her to some of my friends. I mean, it would be selfish not to share such a good thing with others, wouldn’t it? And by the way… I don’t do bad pizza, just bad pizza joints.

I truly love this place. I went again tonight to Picazzos in Sellwood and was, again, delighted by their service and their pizza. Although the menu is quite eclectic, we tend to stick to our old standby; the margarita pizza. And it was delicious. The cheese nice and light and crust is thin and crispy. We sat outside and enjoyed some people watching on this late summer evening. Our friends were more daring and ordered a bacon, shrimp and gorgonzola pie and they were pleased as well. They also have a very yummy gluten free crust. Give it a try!

I love pizza. I’ve worked in a million pizza places, and still love pizza. The pizza here was edible, but nothing that I would need to eat again. The crust was a little too thick, the sauce was nothing special, and the toppings were nothing to write home about. In a pinch, I’d eat it again — because it’s pizza. But if I had the choice, of course I would go somewhere else.

Having decided on pizza for dinner the other night, we ventured a few block down to Picazzo’s. We’d walked by it many times before, but had never tried it. Brace yourselves for this one: I didn’t even bother to look it up on Unilocal before going in. A cardinal sin and dangerous risk, I know. I hope you can forgive me! In the end, however, it appears I got lucky and landed at a tasty little pizza place. Upon entering the softly lit room, we were immediately seated. This cozy little restaurant does not offer a ton of seating, but we must have arrived at a good time as there was plenty of room for us. Looking over the menu, we discovered some very interesting sounding pizzas. After debating over our options, we decided to go for a large Thai Chicken pizza. It did not take long before a glorious combination of chicken, bell peppers, mozzarella cheese, and peanut sauce graced our table. Absolutely delicious pizza with a soft, fluffy crust. As mentioned in other reviews, the pizza was also very fresh and not at all greasy, which is nice. So the food was great, I’ve said that. How about service and price? Well, the service was great as well. Our order was taken promptly, our drinks were never empty, and our first slice was even served up for us. Very nice. While the pizza was delicious, the price can be a bit hard to swallow. $ 23 for a large seems a tad spendy for pizza. In fact, we almost turned around and left after seeing that. I’m glad we stayed, it’s just that at that price I’m not likely to eat there as often as I might want to. Don’t let that stop you from at least trying PIcazzo’s, though. It’s worth it. I’ll be honest, I know I’ll be back — I signed up for the rewards card! :)

Sunny September day. Blue skies. Green grass. Five years deciding and two intense months of moving, done. Dog friendly neighborhood. People friendly shop owners. Sellwood. Sigh. Slight rumbling. Hungry. Picazzo’s. Al fresco seating. Pizza. Water appears. Menu too. Specials explained then ordered. Picazzo’s Ultimate(choice of pizza slice & salad). Puttanesca chooses me. Olive oil and garlic, mozzarella, fresh Roma tomatoes, Kalamata olives, aritchoke hearts and French feta topped with fresh basil. Fresh Pear Forgonzola, no brainer. Mixed greens, Gorgonzola crumbles, glazed walnuts, fresh pears with a sweet raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Leisurely wait as neighborhood passes by. Bikers, buses, man resting against a hydrant. Lunch appears. Pizza, wonderful. Foccacia like crust. Flavorful crisp, not oily. Vegetables fresh, perfectly roasted. Salad, even better than the Pizza. Sweet fruit paired Ratatouille like with beautiful cheese. Reality. The bill. Not cheap, nor was the meal. Still a slight rumble, still satisfied. Will take quality over quantity any day, and any day would go here again. Picture worth a hundred sixty five words.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll. Soul Man. Louie Louie. (Pizza eating background music. could it be better?) Fresh ricotta, pepperoni, homemade sausage, on a thin olive oily brushed crust. Que interesante! Some other selections included the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza, and the Chipotle and Barbacoa Beef Pizza. My ceasar salad was crunchy and good, but the dressing was not as fab as I wanted it to be. Other lovelies: This beautiful wood inlaid carved sunburst on the wall. Really considerate staff(accomodating a broken foot companion with an extra chair) . I’ll be back for pizza goodness since Bellagio’s down the street is gettting too greasy and if I’m gonna pay bigger money I want it to be at this place.

What an amazing place! My parents recently moved to Portland and over a weekend visit they took me here for dinner. Our table got 4 large pizzas each with a different unique topping. I don’t remember the exact names but the halves were roughly, meaty meaty meaty, Thai chicken, BBQ chicken, and a garlic prawn. Every single half was so great! The toppings were fresh and the crust was so good. It was a Friday night so we had to wait 10 — 15 mins for a table but we ordered our pizzas while waiting so we had our food soon after we sat down! To finish off our dinner we had their cookie dessert. For any one that has experienced BJs Brewery knows of the infamous pazookie that is a large warm cookie with ice cream on top. Well, Pizazzo’s dessert tops BJs any day! The cookie is thicker and walks that wonderfully fine line between dough and baked. Another plus to this stop are the owners. They are a wonderful couple who are often at their stop making sure everyone is comfortable. The pizza compared to other places could be considered expensive but the taste and flavors are gourmet making it worth every penny!

New pizza, salad and sandwich place in Sellwood! Just opened this past Sunday. Paul and I went there for lunch today, it is really good! They have great lunch specials, that is what both of us got. You can combine a slice or a sandwich with either soup or salad. I got the pizza slice special of the week which was delicious, all different types of peppers, olives, and onions. Very good and not as greasy as Pizzacato. Actually, the pizza was incredibly fresh and not greasy at all. I also got the berry-licious salad which was so good. It was mixed greens, walnuts, strawberries, orange slices, and feta. I got the dressing on the side, it was a berry balsamic dressing and was pretty darn sweet. But oh so good. I really loved the pizza and the salad. Paul got this Italian sandwich which had a bunch of different Italian meats on it along with veggies and mozzarella that was on focaccia bread. He also got the Asian salad with his sandwich which he loved. Actually, the other day he went over to Picazzo’s for dinner and got the same salad but with a chicken sandwich. Both times that he went he really liked his food. Four stars… our waitress originally mixed up our orders a bit although they were incredibly(if not overly) apologetic about it. It was not a big deal, the place just opened! Also, it is a bit pricey. The two lunch specials cost $ 22 with tip. They only sell slices during lunch time, which is a bummer because the pizza’s are fairly pricey. The food is so good. Everything was so fresh and delicious! They have a lot of different, unique toppings that you can get on your pizza’s and the salad options were pretty awesome. There were easily ten items I could have ordered off of the menu. Very cool place.
