Options that are vegan AND gluten-free! VGF bagels/bagel sammies and treats, and non-dairy options for drinks.(I particularly enjoyed the peanut butter and jam on an everything bagel.) Friendly staff. Bright, comfortable seating area.

I love this place. The coffee in the morning is excellent and the ambience is great. I especially enjoy the music in the morning as it gets my day started right. Can you imagine getting coffee in a place as silent as a monastery? Not to mention the staff is always nice to me, but then again I don’t treat them like jerks like some customers and people in the neighborhood that I’ve heard about. Well done Seven Virtues, keep up the good work!

Great bagel sandwiches! Very simplistic design and friendly staff! We walked here from our Airbnb. Great location!

I decided to try this place after Unilocaling to find a nearby shop to stop for a drink and food. Reviews led me here. The staff is friendly and the menu is big if you’re a coffee drinker. I’m not. I grabbed a chai and breakfast bagel sandwich. The chai was good, nice that it’s house made. It’s on the spicier side vs. sweet. The sandwich was also very good and satisfied my hunger after fasting for 12+ hours for some health tests. It took a bit to get the sandwich, but at least it was fresh. There were a few people working inside, and I imagine it’s just loud enough for extroverts but not too crazy. The décor isn’t the best and some things are pretty dirty(like the bottoms of the shelves, etc.) If you can look past that and enjoy different types of coffee, it seems like a good spot. It felt very Portland vibe to me. Those who don’t live in Portland know what I’m talking about. ;)

Consistent + good. Wish the coffee was slightly stronger.

I’m from California and never had great tasting bagels! Better then my mamas. The girl who makes them sprinkles a lot of love when she makes them.

Located on the crossroads of 60th& Glisan, this quaint café shop has the best chai in town. It’s homemade, sweet(but not soo sweet), and it is made by the kindest people. I recommend it.

Meh… Kind of good coffee, sort of nice workers, but they had almond milk, so that’s cool! Some places only have soy milk as a dairy option, and sometimes I don’t want soy milk. I might go back since it’s in a convenient location. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there though.

Very nice coffee shop. I came here to get some work done and have a good cup of coffee with a good amount of workspace. Well all was successful. All the ladies were very informational when I asked about the different types of drip coffee that they were offering which for me is important. I was a little surprised that they are open till 5pm but they stopped serving food at 3pm. I was into my work and had lost track of time and would have enjoyed an everything bagel be jade they looked sooooooo good but alas they had thrown them all into an orange bucket behind the counter. I also didn’t enjoy the fact that the artist that had things hanging on the wall came in and pulled a ladder out and was taking art off the walls while I was trying to enjoy my coffee and work. If this review was for coffee alone then it would have been 4 – 5 stars but I believe in truly reviewing the entire experience to paint the whole picture.

Stopped in for morning working session. Love all of the natural light flowing in from the many windows. Chai latte was nice and spicy. The downside… it can get really loud in here. The chair legs do not have rubber stoppers or felt on them so that they make a hideous«nails scratching on chalkboard» sound when someone doesn’t pick them up to move them. And that, unfortunately, happens a lot! Also a little pricey but I’ll continue coming, with headphones or earplugs.

Found the sweetest coffee shop I’ve ever been in, on accident this early Friday morning. Like Cheers for coffee — you feel everybody knows your name — even me this new stranger to dawn their doorstep. Excellent hand made coffee served up w/pallet cleanser of soda water with an espresso shot. I will make a point of visiting this great coffee shop on the corner of Glisan &60th. Did I mention they have parking behind their building too?

Great place to come, relax, and get some work done. Tables are functional and spaced out comfortably from one another. Coffee is super solid. Atmosphere is welcoming and steady. Came in to have a morning cup, read through some work email, and consider options for website builders. Left feeling satisfied. And a bit inspired/reflective on some of the virtues.

I’m just getting into grinding my own coffee beans and have filled up my can 3 times at seven virtues. The first 2 experiences were alright, staff was able to describe the flavor profiles of the beans and provided fair service. I stopped by yesterday for my third fill and was disgusted, the short-haired skinny girl behind the counter was more interested in chatting with employees than paying attention to customers. After I paid she just plopped my can on the counter without even saying thanks or goodbye. I’m the kind of person who enjoys striking up conversation and being treated like a customer, but here I felt like I was bothering the employees by trying to get some coffee beans in the middle of their chit-chat. Very disappointed…

Seven Virtues is across the street from my place so is real convenient for me. Their coffee is EXCELLENT and their baristas are friendly and knowledgeable about coffee and other things they have to offer. They’ve got a good taste in music too. I don’t usually get anything to eat from coffee shops but a couple of times I’ve splashed out on a bagel and they’ve been really dynamite bagels. So well done Seven Virtues, keep it up!

I am an Americano with light cream kind of girl, the first sip or two always black. I am pretty picky on what kind of coffee I drink and can taste when the shot that the barista pulls is good or no good. I used to come to this little coffee shop while in College quite frequently, and returned today to find it exactly the same. Great shot pull, full of flavors and crema on top. Lovely staff that are extremely kind. The open seating and window seating with outlets are perfect for a study session or even people watching. When I am in the area again, I will be back.

Pretty solid breakfast/coffee spot. Stopped here before we headed to PDX. I ordered a Hot Chocolate and the Egg Works Bagel Sandwich. The Hot Chocolate came with art similar to the latte art which was cool. The Bagel Sandwich was solid — lots of goodies inside. I loved that they toast it — gives it a real nice crunch on every bite. Service was very quit and friendly as well!

Stopped in here today for a quick breakfast sandwich. I had a bagel with egg, cheese and pesto. It was really tasty, it had a crunchy top and soft inside texture, which worked for me. I also had a Latte with Almond milk. This was a little on the lukewarm side. Next time I will order it extra hot. The service is pleasent with lots of wonderful smiles. The vibe is half cozy half business. I do like the local artists art work on the walls. nice touch. Parking is a mutha tho…

Seven Virtues is right up there among my favorite coffee shops in Portland. This is not because they have the best coffee or most inventive espresso beverages or most delicious food. It’s that they strike a nice balance between all of these things while also having reliable wifi, ample space to work, and air conditioning. Coffee: These guys roast their own coffee — not on site, but I promise they roast it. The coffee is really quite good, it just doesn’t stand out in a coffee city like Portland. If you’re going to be sticking around for awhile, get a mug of their house blend… refills are 50 cents. If you’re more single-origin inclined, they offer a variety of pour overs(often East African varietals). Food: Pretty darn good. I always get the Bridgetown sandwich which has lots of great veggies and pesto, while my wife prefers the decidedly breakfasty Egg Works sandwich. Many vegetarian options, a handful of GF items. Nothing on the menu will blow your mind, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by anything either. Experience: This is a nice big space that never seems to quite fill up. I’ve never struggled to find a table, and I’ve never felt bad for staying and working on my laptop for five hours. The wifi is speedy and reliable. I would share the password with you, but it changes regularly. The two bathrooms are more than enough and are clean and pleasant. Location: If there’s a downside to Seven Virtues, this is probably it. 60th and Glisan is a busy intersection. While I sit inside drinking my coffee, I notice several close calls and angry interactions between pedestrians and drivers. Parking is somewhat limited. Though they do have a small parking lot off of 60th, it doesn’t hold too many cars and is hard to get out of. If you’re driving, I’d recommend parking on Flanders and walking a block. Alternatively, this is a great place to get to by bus or MAX.

I love how this gathering place is situated on the busy corner of 60th and Glisan. It is super handy near MAX and a couple bus lines or on a walk etc. Not a drive-to destination. It’s a neighborhood coffee shop. They have a creative thoughtful menu for lunch too. I have had their roasted coffee to go and to stay. For some reason coffee always tastes better in a ceramic mug so that’s my recommendation. Try it to stay if you have a few minutes… This joint Really anchors that corner and that’s another main reason I want to support it. Yummy coffee, easy atmosphere. Nice staff. I hope to pop in more often :)
