Sprint Store

Employee at this store lied about a promotion with for a «free» tablet when you sign up for a phone plan, only to find on my bill that I was being charged for it as leasing a tablet, plus being charged for a data plan and insurance. He said it would show up as a «credit» on my bill, which needless to say didn’t appear. The amount of my monthly bill is also $ 20+ higher than he said it would be in the store. Perhaps he wasn’t including taxes and fees, but regardless I wasn’t happy about it and he should have been more clear about it.
Learn from my mistake and be careful about reading every little detail you are signing on when it comes to the contract, even if they try to fast-​talk you past it! Would have saved me $ 300 and lots of headaches. Or, just avoid this place and Sprint altogether.

I have tried several times to give this store another chance to come through with something more than subpar assistance. Today I walked into the store & stood by the door for a solid ten minutes. I was not greeted nor was I was addressed by any of the employees that were working, not even after making eye contact with one of them. I am a little irritated that my time spent in the sprint store is never valued because no one seems to have a sense of urgency. Had someone said hello or would have been able to answer the question I had or simply tell me the amount of time it would take before someone would be available to assist, I would have happily stayed or left depending on the situation. I would prefer going out of my way to find another store if it meant that I would receive better costumer service. I probably will not be visiting this location again.

Ok folks, the honeymoon is definitely over. Really Sprint, what is wrong with you? AT&T, I’m sorry I left you and will be back soon, fees be damned.
Everything with Sprint has been a shit-​show. The wait times to be helped in the store is forever. Has my balance from AT&T been paid off? No. Have I received my «Refer a Friend» $ 50.00 gift card? No. My friend has not received her gift card either. Apparently we won’t be getting those cards anytime soon, if ever. My friend feels bad for referring me but it’s not her fault Sprint is lame.
It took 4 phone calls just to get the return shipping to send them my old AT&T phone. It is stupid they couldn’t take it from me in the store. I was stuck having to find a UPS drop-​off office to return it. I am still waiting for an account credit for the phone return over two months later.
It would be super-​duper if you folks at Sprint could at least get your stories straight when I phone, email, and visit the store but I can’t get the same answer out of any two people. I have wasted tons of time trying to get my issues resolved without any success. Seriously, ya’ll suck mightily.
Would I refer someone that I consider a friend to Sprint? Only if I’m feeling shamelessly passive-​agressive.
2015 — Review # 79

First they adamantly refused to exchange out a phone that was defective under 2 weeks because of the way the «system» was set up. I had to personally connect them to my out-​of-​state representative to walk them through it. Then they refused to exchange out my old phone because it wouldn’t charge on their defective charger — which they insisted was an issue with my phone and not the charger. It worked fine when I returned to my car and plugged it into my $ 1 charger. Finally I had to call the original rep in Miami who sold my phone and she resolved the issue under 2 min.

It is said that the store manager of this place Alex as the excellent one and I am sure at the fact that if the service is the available one then I will be willing to test with his own boost mobile phone. They also inspire you as to uninstall the application.

When this store had a repair desk, they were the only good thing about Sprints customer service. Now that the repair desk is gone and they are all just salespeople, their service quality has aligned with Sprint core values. That is to to say, in a word: terrible.

I just filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against Sprint. Beware! No matter what they offer you as far as low rates/​plans/​etc, stay far, far away from these people! During their January 2015 «half off» special, I was up-​sold a tablet that «was not currently in stock,» but promised to be delivered to me. Not only did I never receive the tablet, but I was charged month after month for the device + service. After regular unsuccessful attempts to cancel both the tablet line and full account via phone (how hard can it be to just cancel an account??), I stopped by in person today to this store and was told by employee Kenny that he did not have the appropriate access to my account to cancel it, and that I would need to go through the representative that actually sold me the phone and tablet in January, or otherwise call customer service via phone.
What??? This is a full-​fledged Sprint store, not an «authorized retailer» or other electronics store. If you don’t have the access, who does?
After Kenny had me call Sprint customer service from inside the store (which is already a ridiculous scenario, because I’M IN THE STORE, with real-​live customer service «agents»), I was placed on hold for 20 minutes to be told that cancellations can only be done in the store with agents that have access to my account. SO bounced-​around I go.
I went straight to AT&T and opened an account there — where the lovely sales reps gracefully but aggressively negotiated with Sprint via phone to release my number so that I could leave Sprint forever. AT&T has much better service anyway, and allows me to be on the internet while I’m on a call — which are two big reasons why I should never have left them in the first place. What an epic mistake.
Long story short, Sprint and its authorized stores promised me a service and device that they never fulfilled, took my hard-​earned cash for it, refused to take responsibility or refund even one cent for their errors, and continue to imprison me with a «contract» that they failed to honor themselves. Worst business ever in the history of the world.

It’s the age old tale of the consumer and the lemon.
We were warned in our childhood from tales of antiquity. Huck Finn meets a snake oil salesman who sold the town toothpaste guaranteed to remove plaque… even if it also removes tooth enamel.
The snake oil salesmen here are nice and appear knowledgeable even if their claims are baseless and far fetched. «This tablet you don’t want is better than the tablet you already have because I’m not going to tell you why. Never mind that it’s smaller, it has a gamma control and I can make it super bright!».
They try every used-​car salesman tactic they know in order to up-​sell you 15 dollars, and make no effort to be quick about it, completely oblivious to the fact that there’s a line of people waiting to make a purchase and the paradigm that exists. If you just sold me a damn phone, then they could make up lost funds by getting to the person behind us in line and ring up their $ 45 bluetooth headset. Seriously, I’ve been to two different locations in two days. Regardless of what you need, you should expect to spend 45 minutes to 2 hours in the store.
I’m totes bummed about them doing away with the sign-​on rate deals for new phones every year or so that you’re on their contract. They revamped that program and essentially now you’re only bonus is that you now have the opportunity to make monthly payments on your $ 300 phone that has a planned obsolescence of about a year. Ew.
That phone died after 24 hours in my possession. Brought it to another location, waited in line for 20 minutes, then left my phone with them for 45 minutes, they never called me back to let me know I can come back to get it. I went back anyways and they fixed the phone and all they had to do was swap out the battery. Still took 2 hours in total. You know why? Because Paullie doesn’t move for anybody. We’ll see how this tale continues to unfold. So far the phone still works…
Edit: Sorry, you guys lose a star. You insisted on this Invisible Shield: Glass screen cover telling me it’ll protect my screen. You made ridiculous claims like «It’s smudge proof.» Seriously? It’s glass and smudges like hell. It’s also about as frail as rice paper. My wife and I each have one and they are both split into 7 + sections because the edges split and chip if you set it on the counter too rough and if you drop your phone on the couch cushions, it’s sufficient impact to cause that chip to grow legs across the screen. They told us to take it to the kiosk in the mall to take advantage of the lifetime guarantee to find the dude’s a piece of work who wants an installation fee for a product he doesn’t even have in stock. We can mail it off and pay S&H though and our replacement might be here in a few weeks. Maybe not though. I’ve had an array of Invisible Shield products starting back from before anyone even knew they were a thing and they’ve been great. I’m absolutely certain that this Glass situation is a scam though.

Yuck. Stay far, far away from this store. Condescending staff who find it fun to make customers wait just to buy an accessory, who like to argue that they know more than you do, and then when you come back to return a defective item, they first put you in line behind 5 people who are shopping around for phones (rather than have a separate person to handle basic purchases & returns) and then take literally 30 minutes to process a return because no one in the store seems to know how to use their POS system (the best was after I’d been in the store 20 minutes and said I had to be at a meeting in 10, he said «can you come back another day to return this?» — are you effing kidding me!!!), tell me that they have a «replace it for free» guarantee when you actually have to pay shipping & handling charges for this «free» service for defective merchandise (dude that’s not free, and you can’t argue with me to tell me that it is and mutter under your breath), and demand personal information just to run a credit card (ask me for ID, fine, but do not argue with me and tell me that every retailer asks for other personal info because you «have worked in retail for 5 years» — total line of BS). And I’m not the only one getting this — I watched a guy get turned away walking in the door to ask about something for his phone and the guy just say «I don’t know where you’d get something like that» very dismissively and abruptly turn away from him, rather than try to help him locate what he needed. What a bunch of jerks.
The irony is that I’m not actually a Sprint customer, I am a (very happy) TING customer with a Sprint phone (I pay no crazy rates like Sprint and my husband and I together pay half of what I paid to Sprint as an individual customer, plus 100X better service), and they have fully reminded me through these two visits that I am so very glad I do not have a service plan through Sprint, and that I will now go to Target or Fred Meyer to buy accessories for my Samsung Galaxy!

Waiting in the store as I write this. I did have an appointment, but apparently that is not relevant to getting help. Not that they provide service when they do help. I wanted to upgrade my phone which should be a simple transaction. The store has instituted a policy of not upgrading to iPhone 6, but only offering leases and easy pay. This is not a corporate policy– apparently this store has arbitrarily made this decision to screw people out of money. Rather than doing the upgrade in store I have to order online and pick up in store. Lies, long lines and super poor service.

I stopped in and asked them to explain how they can cut my phone bill in half. The service was great and professional. The young man who helped me was knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell me too much and let me go easily and didn’t try to keep me there to sell more. My plan was not one of the ones they could cut in half in price, but getting the news didn’t sting too much because it was delivered in such a responsive manner. Good job!

I’ve been a sprint customer for a number of years and have been to this particular store a few times during that time. I’ve always felt the service was adequate and prompt. Most recently I came for a device upgrade and was surprised by how knowledgeable and proactive the staff were. I came in expecting to pay a lot more than I ended up paying and the young lady that helped me even got me a discount that I did not know I qualified for. Extremely good experience for this kind of service.

I was skeptical about switching over to sprint after a recent experience at the store on mlk/​weidler, but the customer service at this store was amazing! Yasmeen is the best! She made the whole process quick, easy, and painless! I was in and out with a new plan and phone within 45 mins! She was very informative, without being pushy, and patient while I asked a million questions. I felt like she had my best interest at heart. Not to mention I arrived 15 minutes to close and she stayed after hours with no rush to assure I was well taken care of. I will definitely be going to this store from now on!

I have had Sprint for 13 years. THe first 12 were fine. For months, I’ve had constant dropped calls, limited internet access and slow texts. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them and they have been no help. I am told I cannot get out of my contract even though they are not living up to their end of the deal. THey offered me a measly $ 30 credit (I have paid $ 79.99 per month for years.) I didn’t see the credit on my bill so I called again. They won’t apply the credit until I tell them the problem is resolved. Customer service with sprint is a joke. I am switching. They don’t seem to mind loosing customers.

Might be helpful if you were looking to buy, but if you need help with something you currently have then good luck getting any help or response. I walked into this place around 5:30p on a Tuesday and there are seven workers sitting around and no customers in the store. I went in to find out about a cracked screen on my galaxy I got three weeks ago– didn’t drop it or have anything hit it to my knowledge. I figured it happens and was lucky I had insurance and was willing to pay the deductible. Some guy named Chauncey looked annoyed to have to help (which he didn’t help at all so I don’t know why he was annoyed). Immediately thought of everything they could say to get rid of me. I purchased at a third party store, not a corporate store (had no clue of this myself); I could pay $ 350 and cancel the contract if I didn’t like it; I could buy a knew one. Now I know why everyone hates Sprint– they don’t care about their customers. Then some other worker wanders over and says, «you know it can crack if you carry it in your pocket» and walked off like she had just saved the day. This place is terrible. It’s obvious the workers don’t want to be there. Stay away from this store and Sprint

I came in to talk about my data speed which has seemed really slow. I spoke with a Katy who immediately said without qualification or asking any questions to go to the mac store that Sprint did not handle that. She was very lazy and just did not want to do her job was my take on it and I told her that I pay SPRINT for this service and that the data function is obviously a function of SPRINT. I confronted her and told her this and she then left and went into the back room. When I told her that because of her poor customer service that I was moving to ATT she said «Fine». Good representative of Sprint eh? I then spoke with another person who was actually very helpful in actually qualifying and asking a few questions at least to see what the issue MIGHT be. Whatever you do — don’t talk to Katy when you go into this store. Rude. Lazy. Haughty, and short.

I went there today to buy a phone, they were very helpful and helped me in finding the best money saving plan! Thanks guys!

I have had both terrific experiences with Sprint stores and really terrible experiences. I was expecting the latter when I went to this store as the other closest repair store is completely inept. However, though I had to wait a long time and they should really have more repair stores or more technicians considering the need, this turned out to be a great experience! The technician and store staff were very helpful.

I never thought I would give high marks for a cell phone buying experience but I’ve got to say the Sprint Store in the city does a really, really good job.
We’re going through the painful steps of re-​acclimating to living in the USA and we weren’t looking forward to the process of getting new mobile phones. I went and got a Cricket phone for the first month but realized the wife and I both needed to get phones… and functional ones at that.
I came across a stinkin good family plan deal from Sprint so I thought I go ahead and try it out. Never used Sprint before but I figure they can’t be any worse than Verizon/​ATT/​Tmobile. 1500 shared minutes, unlimited data/​internet/​text, free nights/​weekends, for 2 lines at $ 100/​month — not bad eh? Plus $ 50 service credit for each phone.
Anyways, even though the deal was on the internet, the store manager said he would match everything (I printed out the details and brought it with me). It took a while to get everything set up and purchased b/​c they just changed their computer systems but most of the delay was due to them trying to match what I found on the internet.
Overall an excellent experience with really nice people. No slimy sales guys. The manager even gave me details on getting a referral check on my way out.
Oh, if you plan on visiting, make an appointment via phone or internet, especially if you go during the weekends. There was a 5 person wait when we went in.
