Fantastic! Really fresh food. «All you can eat» tends to not be the best, but it’s great here.

Drove 25 min because of how many stars. The place was small and quiet with only a couple other patrons. On a Friday night during the arise festival this should have been our clue. We came for the hot pot but it wasn’t even offered to us. So we had the all-you-can eat grill food. The selection was extremely small and the meat was tough. We paid $ 30 plus tips for the two of us and My husband and I were both disappointed that the reviews had been so inaccurate. Changs Mongolian grill in our hometown is 10x better!

Had lunch here yesterday with 3 teens and we all loved it. 4 enthusiastic thumbs up! I thought it was strange that we had to pay before being seated but the food was delicious and included everything for one price — drinks, soup, rice, ice cream. Plus we went back several times to make new bowls. All you can eat! Bathrooms were very clean too. We will be back.

This was a good experience for a quick lunch without having to wait for a server all you can eat. I walked in and I wasn’t really sure. It has interesting to core. It definitely used to be something else. But everything to it in this part of town. Very elegant chandeliers. With wood paneling in the entry and pictures of camels but then you get inside and its cherrywood and black with stone floors. To the table and went to the buffet. The set up is exactly like Mongolian Grill. The only thing that I didn’t see was water chestnuts. Otherwise it seems pretty much the same. There is a section for hot pot items if you’re looking to do that. Theyhave help yourself rice, hot and sour, and egg flower soup. Soda is available. The first time through I didn’t get as much food as the people in front of me so inevitably my foot got a little bit burnt. The next time it was done perfectly but I was the only person in line. The cook was very helpful and friendly. Even offering me sauce afterwards. The flavor was good and the veggies were fresh. The meet was good also. Actually the quality of the meal seemed good and the experience has been pleasurable. I can hear loan on the table that was private and your window. I like this place if I worked around here I would eat here a lot.

We went to Portland for a quick trip from Washington and after reading a few reviews decided to give this place a go! No regrets. As everyone mentioned, the place is clean and cheap! We paid happy hour which was $ 7,95. The only downside is because the veggie buffet is limited and there was no salmon, as I have seen others mention in the reviews that they usually have it. I would go back

Really nice to have a quality Mongolian Grill place in downtown Portland again! Food is fresh due to good turnover, service is good, plus you can help yourself to many items, including the yummy hot and sour soup. I always say that if you don’t like Mongolian Grill, it’s your own fault since YOU pick the ingredients and sauces! I’ll definitely be frequenting this place.

No wait in line at lunchtime, server was attentive and friendly and the food was good. The layout was a little confusing, not only myself but I heard other tables asking where certain things were(like the rice and tea). But you get ice cream at the end so it’s all worth it.

I love it here! I was craving for fresh asian food in downtown and saw a lot of positive reviews for Stir Fresh. The restaurant looks small and hidden from the outside but it is big in the inside. My first impression when I walked in? NICEANDCLEAN. Like clean tables, clean floors, clean food– even the hot pot section has a cover to keep it separated from the grilled ingredients. The reason everything was so spotless was from the staff constantly cleaning up used plates and constantly refreshing the items in the buffet line. The room was spacious, moderate amount of Asian decorations and lots of privacy between booths. The staff was really nice and quickly set up hot pot for my boyfriend and I and introduced us to the grill buffet. If you don’t know, it’s $ 20 for BOTH hot pot and the grill buffet line! What a great value! The meats and veggies were FRESH– both on the buffet line and in the hot pot chiller. The meats weren’t frozen and there were plenty of green veggie variety. Plus there were plenty of seafood items to choose from– different clams, mussels and prawns. The broth in our hot pot was flavorful and got better tasting as it continued to cook. We could’ve been fine with the hot pot but who can resist Mongolian grilled stir fry noodles?! I’m not usually a fan of Mongolian stir fry but Stir Fresh’s noodles and sauce combinations made my dish so good! My noodles were nice and chewy with the spicy sauce and went well with some jalapeños, baby shrimp, chopped cabbage, plenty of Chinese sausage and green onion. Did I mention they have self-served rice, egg flower soup, hot and sour soup and an soft serve ice cream machine INCLUDED with the meal? It’s official: I’ll be coming here everyday :)

One of the best Mongolian grill places I have been to. The food is very very fresh and doesn’t taste like it has been sitting all day. They have a great selection and everyone seems very nice!

Fresh veggies! It’s the way to go… All you can eat for $ 10 with many varieties of meat and fish. You pick you veggies and meat, then they cook it for you! Good food and service!

The line for Mod Pizza was quite long, so I walked around the corner and saw this place and thought I’d give it a try. Pro’s — The food was okay. Very typical of other Mongolian Grill places in Portland… I’ve had better versions of this style of food in the Kansas City area(BD’s Mongolian stands out as the best), but for Portland, this place was just typical… Con’s — Service was non-existent…I was asked to pre-pay, which I believe is perfectly understandable. The hostess behind the desk told me to «Go get your food, then we’ll get you a table» after I paid… so, I went and got my food(long line, but again, understandable), went back to the desk, and was sat down. The next logical step would be the server to come to my table and ask me if I wanted soup, rice, and eggroll wrappers, which are all supposed to be included… the server never came over to the table once when I was sitting at it. When I got up to get a second portion, she rushed over and took my plate, and when I sat back down(and finished the last sip in my soft drink) she had the opportunity to ask me if I needed anything(where I would have reminded her about soup, rice, egg roll wrappers and also asked for a refill) but she just walked past, not even making eye contact so I could get her attention. Obviously, she also did not ask me if I wanted ice cream, which is also supposed to be included… so I left. So, to recap… no offer of any of the ‘extras’ supposedly included in the price, nor offer of a drink refill… no actual interaction with the server at all. Regrets — Pre-paying a 20% tip. I got 0 service, so I don’t feel that was money well spent. Swing and a miss, folks. Lots of places to eat downtown, so I’ll avoid this one in the future.

This is my first review. We found this place on Groupon looking for a quick bite to eat. The grill buffet has a pretty good selection of veggies, meat, and sauces. The cook rocks the food out pretty fast. Definitely coming back. This place is good and the staff is really friendly.

They didn’t have water chestnuts or baby corn, which are two of my favorite veggies when it comes to Mongolian grill. The service was great and everything seemed pretty fresh, but I really did feel as though their lack of veggies took away from my experience here. The flavor was decent, but not amazing. They do have a nice selection of meat and seafood, including lamb, shrimp, and squid. I really wanted some shrimp, but it wasn’t deveined. Sad. I enjoyed the added bonuses of soup and ice cream, even if the ice cream did contain some ingredients I wasn’t a fan of. Trips to the grill are unlimited. You can also fill up more than one bowl when you go through through the line. Groupon redemption was easy and they had free guava candies at the register.

I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile now. Finally got a chance to go there with a few friends. I didn’t really know what to expect since I’ve heard mixed reviews about it. I really wanted hot pot for this type of weather but already made plans to eat here… but wait… walking in there, they had a sign that said hot pot was available for an additional $ 5…just because of that… I gave this place another star! So we all opted to have both. The Mongolian grill part was good… nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary. While waiting for the chef to stir fry my meal, I was already gathering the meats and veggies for the hot pot portion. What I liked about the set up was that you can go and pick the items you want rather than waiting to order it. The selection of items were pretty good… they had a few different types of meatballs and some decent veggies. After refilling my water up, I noticed they had some ice cream in cups… this was a prefect way to end the meal. I would give this place a 4.5÷5. Overall, the food was decent, service was good, and price was decent. I would come here again.

I’m impress with the cleanliness and the freshness of the food this restaurant provides its customers. The place is clean and well maintained while the staff are friendly. The area where the food is located is very clean and inviting. The master griller are great and quick keeping the foods freshness intact. I will definitely come back to this place when I’m craving mongolian grill.

Man, what a bummer. So, I have a thing for all-you-can-eat. I also have a pretty unhealthy obsession with food and the gym and my body. This combination means that as much as I’d like to do so, I don’t spend much time at buffets. But when I heard a Mongolian BBQ place was opening up downtown, I thought I had found my loophole! AYCE meat, grilled with whatever veggies you choose? I’m in. Nope. I’m out. This place just doesn’t have the goods. The people were nice enough, but the buffet options just weren’t present. For meats they served beef, chicken, pork, krab meat(with a k), salmon, shrimp and what we think was squid. That’s plenty. Where they were lacking was the accompanying vegetables and sauces. They only had a few to choose from, and even then some of the selections were kind of weird. I mean… who puts giant wedges of tomato in their stir fry? It was super uninspiring, and the three people that joined me all agreed. I’m pretty embarrassed that I made them join me. If I’m going to eat all that I can eat, I want it to be at a place at which I’m excited to really excited to dig in. I just can’t imagine how anybody would be excited to eat here.

Great great great restaurant! Everyone is so nice that I enjoy every moment I spend here. Also the best hot pot! They deliver everything quickly and all the foods are extremely fresh! I enjoy picking up foods by myself. The only little part I would recommend is improving the sesame sauce a little bit, it is a little mild. Anyway, GREAT restaurant! Highly recommended! Nearest hot pot place from PSU! Enjoy shopping and then go to this place to enjoy the hot pot! Yeah!~

All you can eat doesn’t always mean fresh good quality selection of food but at this place it was the opposite. Good variety of food. Beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, salmon, pork and crab. Service was good and the price was reasonable. $ 15 Will definitely be returning in the near future.

We paid $ 11 per person with a Groupon for the Mongolian bbq(hotpot was $ 5 more per person and we didn’t do it). It was well worth the plates of protein, noodles and veggies. I would come back. The service was great!

Definitely the best Mongolian style buffet in town. Very fresh, quality ingredients and skilled grill masters make consistently great meals. The prices are also quite reasonable, especially during the lunch hour. The décor is fun and casual and the food keeps me coming back again and again.

Good service, clean fresh ingredients, and only $ 15 for all you can eat! Yummmm! All I can say is I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat more!!! Not only that but for $ 5 extra you can add on a hot pot and you get the best of both worlds. I’ve been back to this place 4 times now in the last month, you can’t beat how nice and fresh their meats and veggies are, seriously.

This is my 3rd time here in just a short while so I’ve decided it’s time to write a review. I’ve been waiting so, so long for a good Mongolian Grill spot to open downtown. I really love the occasional Mongolian Grill but hate having to drive so far out of downtown to enjoy it. This place answered my prayers and is in fact better than the others. Their ingredients are incredibly fresh and the restaurant is very well maintained. You can tell that some money has definitely been put into renovating this place. To add icing on the cake, I learned that they recently now also offer a Chinese Hot Pot, which is a close second favorite of mine. The gods have smiled upon me. Mongolian Grill and Hot Pot in the same place!!! Hallelujah! Basically, any of the ingredients you would normally pick from for Mongolian Grill along with a separate additional ingredient fridge just for Hot Pot are all fair game. For $ 5 more than the Mongolian Grill option, you can have Hot Pot… Or both. My second time here I chose to get a single bowl of Mongolian Grill style and then asked for the spicy hot pot broth. I got to enjoy two of my absolute favorite Chinese/Mongolian meals in the same sitting. Honestly, just come try this place and bring a friend. It’s one of my new go-to’s.

This is a very good Mongolians grill. The selection of ingredients are really good… way better then other similar places I’ve tried… in both selection, and freshness. The location is very convenient, as 1 block from smart park. It’s very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Service was also great, and everyone smiled… which I greatly appreciate! Would definitely recommend.

This is a welcome addition to the downtown lunch scene. Place is clean and the food is fresh. Easy to get in and out and also they have to go bowls. You get 2 bowls and that is a lot of food. If you doubt it just eat there once and use 2 bowls to judge for yourself. Lunch comes with soup, rice and wraps if you want. Or you can just get your table and go get started if you are in a hurry. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the place, the speed of service(very important when you have an hour or less for lunch) and the nice selection of vegetables, oils, peppers, meats and a fish selection that changes.

Great, fresh ingredients. Friendly staff, although, they need to work in their greeting at the front. Especially for those with a deer-in-headlights looks on their faces, looking for a little direction on how to Mongolian BBQ, as their seemed to be none of that.
