Rarely do I write a review, and never do I write a negative review, but after today’s experience I feel compelled to do so. Let me first proclaim that since Chipotle became a thing, I was a frequent patron, at least 3 times a week if not more, I would eat there. That was my routine for years, until news of food quality concerns became public, and they closed briefly. Even so, I came back almost immediately. Then it happened again, more people sick, forcing them to close again. After a bit of a break, I came back. I was confident it couldn’t happen again, and frankly I love the food there and personally have never had any issues. After today, all of that changed and I will no longer ever be a patron. After paying for my bowl, I noticed a flattened fly on the top piece of my lettuce! I don’t get disgusted easily but the sight of the smushed fly made me lose my appetite. They offered to remake the bowl, sans lettuce and I agreed. I don’t ever complain about my food so I took the replacement and had about a third before tossing it unable to eat anymore after what I saw. The reason I’m writing this is that I’ve lost all confidence in this chain. After I showed them the fly, they didn’t even remove the lettuce bin where they just pulled it from! Needless to say, this might not change how they operate, though there’s clearly some quality issues present. It’s unfortunate, but today is the last time I’ll ever be a customer.

The portions are anemic, the employees spend more time horsing around with each other over the exposed food than actually attending to their customers and they are rude as hell. I asked the guy at the register to break a $ 1 bill for quarters so I could feed the meter outside to continue eating inside the restaurant and he gave me a dirty look and said«Well I’m really not supposed to…» then begrudgingly gave me the change. The worst part was the employees horsing around and laughing over exposed food. No wonder this was ground zero of the recent E. Coli epidemic. DONOTGOHERE!!! The restaurant down in Keizer was much cleaner and the employees were much more courteous.

This Chipotle certainly is convenient. It is located in a fashionable part of town and near light rail lines. As usual, Chipotle compares to local Mexican places in that it is comparable to neither the best nor the worst of them. There is plenty of seating and fountain beverages. I went and had the steak burrito. The product delighted me as usual for it being both good and predictable. It had both this fast food addictiveness and a local quality to it at the same time. With a beverage, it was ten dollars, not as good of a value as to quality-price correlation as elsewhere in this city. This is nice to have available.

They were nice enough to give me a free bowl because I had to wait for steak meat. Thank you.

They charged me $ 10.50 for a quesaritto whereas the fremont location and couple other where I went in Bay area charges around 7 $ + tax. This place is such a rip-off considering the server puts only half a spatula of chicken in and the whole thing was just half of what a usual Chipotle serves, luckily for them my phone was out of juice to take pics. Date: 2nd Jan 2016 Time: Around 7:30 Pm PST Quantity: 2 Chicken Quesaritto Side Note for identification: There was a sheriff behind us and I paid for his burrito but he ended up getting a bowl instead, total bill was 28 $. @Chipotle — Please stop messing around with customers now only I saw a similar review for the same store. So, you are repeat offenders.

Terrible service. They ran out of rice and wouldn’t even substitute it for guacamole. Said I had to pay an additional $ 1.95. Like are you serious? I don’t even have full menu options and in paying full price for an item? Terrible customer service.

Terrible manager. Had a two-for-one burrito coupon. Manager wouldn’t honor it stating repeatedly my son’s bean and cheese burrito was not a burrito. After I looked down to verify my skin really was Mexican brown I gave up on using my free burrito coupon. Next trip manager was going to charge me a veggie burrito for $ 7+ for beans, cheese, and guac. Forced me to order the guac on the side and put it in myself at the table. This cost $ 4 for a bean & cheese burrito and guac on the side. Ridiculous.

Chipotle is a fast food godsend for vegetarians. We can get in-and-out with a predictable, unhealthy meal for a bit too much money without having to sacrifice our morals. Chipotle is always there for me, and for that I am grateful. The quality of food at this location has never disappointed. My order has never been wrong(I typically order ahead and pick up later) and I’ve never not devoured my entire meal. With that being said, the employees at this location are somethin’ else. Well, employee I should say. And in an effort to remain kind and compassionate, I won’t name them — I also don’t know their name — but I will say that there is a particular young lady working at this location who constantly seems like she’s in a state of confusion. Every time I have visited to pick up an order she is clueless about how the store functions, how online orders work, how to process them efficiently, etc. Surely she has been there for some time now. I can’t tell if it’s poor training or carelessness. Either way, it’s not a welcoming experience. You’ll get what you’re looking for here — Chipotle’s menu, delicious burrito bowls, and subpar service — and nothing more. *If you’re interested in optimizing your Chipotle experience, start stocking up on Taco Bell sauce — heat of your choice — on your drunken ventures, and use that on your next burrito. You’ll never be able to eat Chipotle without it again. You’re welcome.

This place is sooooooooooooooooppoooo good. They are very busy but they always have good food. Sometimes I go here for lunch and get a burrito. I usually get it wuth chicken but I think you can also get it with steak or whatever. Haven’t have the vegetarian style but I bet it’s just as good.

One would assume that providing food that is simple to make and put together wouldn’t be such a challenge for 8 adult employees but… The employees at this Chipotle restaurant do not care at all about their jobs. They didn’t care if the customers were happy or got what they wanted. It’s 7:45pm on a Wednesday. There are 8 employees«working» right now. 8?! Please avoid this Chipotle. I’ve gotten better customer service from a vending machine.

What can I say? It’s Chipotle! They messed up my order twice in 1 day, but who cares! The line is incredible long, which is the root cause for the errors, however the Portland Chipotles are far more fresh and tasty than any other Chipotle I have been to in the states.

I am a fan of Chipotle. It is really good food at any time. I love chicken bowl with mixed brown and white rice, black beans and all additions. After a long day studying, I have this delicious meal with chips. It makes my stomach full the whole day.

Subway of burritos. I want to like this place because for a quick option, they seem to carry quality ingredients. My tacos literally fell apart and it was more of a salad with soggy corn tortillas. The street trucks do better tacos for less price!

I have eaten at Chipotle a handful of times, but have done so less frequently over the last few years because I feel like I’m in a herd of cattle every time I step up to the counter. I very much appreciate that Chipotle is into sustainability & animals raised with love, but they clearly don’t build their business model around a pleasant customer experience. Their line employees are putting out so much food so quickly that they don’t care how unpleasant they are… it really wouldn’t kill them to smile, or act like I am a human being.
During my visit this afternoon, one of the young«ladies» on the line acted like I asked for her first born child when I requested fajita veggies, which required the(apparently) difficult task of sliding my burrito back to the previous line employee. If I had the opportunity to ask for them before my food was passed, or if someone would have made eye contact with me, I would have. Now onto the salsa… I asked for a very small amount of spicy salsa, which she proceeded to ladle into my burrito. By the time I got back to work(2 blocks) my tortilla was saturated with liquid and completely soggy, and the burrito was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. There are way too many delicious food options in Portland to waste my time and money on this place.

When I was a child, I ate as a child; but when I became a man, I became a sucker for BOGO. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA, a town whose culinary scene consists of improbably highly-regarded Olive Gardens and a superlative strip-mall-to-Taco-Bell ratio. When the first Chipotle opened there, it was a bit of an event. This was food that was affordable, casual, and seemed to me at the time to be quite tasty. People remarked on the size of these burritos, dubiously boasting that one could last them several meals, as if this were an admirable talent. As I got older, tasted and cooked more, I realized Chipotle ain’t all that good. It’s pretty uninspired food. I remember the burritos being larger and better composed when I was a youngin, but perhaps this is the rosy nostalgia of a now-bitter man. So anyway, Chipotle offered a free burrito to anyone who tried the sofritas thing today. This and only this brought me back to Chipotle from a several year, quite joyous sabbatical. I’ll only talk about the sofritas. It tastes powerfully of metallic canned tomatoes. Reminds me of a store-bought sloppy joe mix dialed slightly more Mex than Tex. The texture is gritty, like low-quality TVP(even though this is alleged to be tofu, and organic/non-GMO at that). I’m not sure I’ll be using my GO from today’s BO. Perhaps I’ll give it to a young man, and tell him to enjoy this while it’s still possible. For one day, he will put away childish things.

This is one of the better QSRs out there. With it being right next door to work, it’s hard not to dine here. I noticed that since my college days, Chipotle has been less generous with the rice. It’s honestly my favorite thing they have to offer and I don’t want less of it! It’s awesome to see the progression of this company though. They now offer brown rice and something called Sofritas. It’s a tofu option and perfect for Portlanders. I’ve tried it and it’s actually pretty decent – especially since I’m not the biggest tofu fan. Don’t be fooled, but they offer other things besides burritos and bowls(burritos without the tortilla and in a bowl, obviously). I ordered a chicken quesadilla because I had seen someone order it before. It’s literally nothing more than shredded cheese and chicken. It was $ 5.70 for that. I’m gonna continue my quesadilla purchases at Taco Bell since quesadillas here cost as much as a burrito(starts at $ 6.70). Guacamole is an additional $ 1.95. You be the judge of whether or not that price is worth a dollop of nature’s butter.

Whether it’s Mexican fast food or a $$$$ restaurant, we don’t seem to like either one. I guess there are many reasons for that including, well, just being fast food or being so over priced it just ruins the experience. Several weeks ago we watched the pseudo-documentary on Netflix about the founder, the philosophy, the transformation, the purpose and well, you get the picture. After watching the movie I was so impressed with the place but up to that point, had never eaten there. I tend to avoid all fast food like the plague and Chipotle was no exception. There’s just something about it. Anyway, I sent them an email to tell them how impressed we were with the film and the person responding to the email was just all over that. «Give me your address so I can send you a gift card and your first experience at Chipotle will be on us.» What the heck. A really cool website where you can put together your dish and get a complete calorie and nutrient evaluation. That way you know exactly what you’re getting. I decided after looking at that it was going to be the one and only time I’ll be eating there. The doors were blown off the whole thing by the sodium content alone. Again, if you’re going to eat this stuff you had better have a diuretic on hand for the next day because you’re going to need it. You will blow your entire daily salt wad right here. I decided to make mine into a burrito bowl and it was OK, just not anything to write home about. A bed of lettuce topped with stuff that looked like it had been prechewed just for me. The preparation was simply throw in a spoon full of this and a spoonful of that. Where was the love I so desperately need in my food? Apparently there wasn’t any. Oh well. It is what is it is. Just more fast food but in this case it’s with humanely raised animals and local organic ingredients when possible. Draw your own conclusions. Just a note about the founder, Steve Ells. He’s actually a CIA graduate who had aspirations of opening his own white linen 4 star restaurant. He doesn’t need to care about that anymore because he has a bazillion dollars. :)

I can honestly say that I have been to many Chipotles than I care to count and this one is a bit of a let down. The layout is just all wrong, especially if it is crowded. The place just gets crowded and dinners and people waiting for food collide. The service was fast and friendly. The food is like any other Chipotle, but like others have said, they do skimp on the amount when compared to others I’ve been to. Also, if you find yourself in need of using the facilities, make sure you check your receipt for the bathroom code prior to throwing it away.

You know me, I am always a fan of chipotle :). I decided to hit up this one after a long day at work. Luckily the line was short(aka no line!) and they had just cooked up a batch of fresh chicken. I got my traditonal order of a chicken burrito bowl and was not disappointed with the extra extra corn the lady gladly put on at my request! :) This was a convienent, clean location. We seriously need one of these in hawaii!
