Actually I went to this restaurant 2 years ago when I visited Portland. I am not sure this is the subway restaurant that I went or not becuz i just remembered that I went to the subway near Bolt bus station. I went there at midnight and there was only 1 person who worked there — the big fat American guy. I can tell that he is extremely nice person. I feel bat to forgot his name and Im not sure hes still working here or not. Hope that he is still working there!!!

Came in tonight on my lunch break, April 24th just a little after midnight, who ever the manager is of this location needs to fire the employee at this location. As I walked in he was sitting at a table talking on the phone, door wide open and radio louder than it normally is, I stood there for at least a minute and a half too two minutes before I asked what’s going on in here? When he got too the counter I don’t even believe he washed his hands, just put gloves on, I had too tell him what I wanted, he never asked what I preferred, come to check out, he didnt even tell me what the total was, I found out for myself, I didnt even know his name because he had no name tag on. But he’s not hard to miss with all the tattoos, won’t be back too this location for my breaks anymore, I’ll walk the 6 blocks to PSU location from now on

I eat at this subway frequently(2 – 3 x per week) and usually after 11: pm. I have never had a problem with the quality, the atmosphere or the on duty employee. until LASTNIGHT that is. The usual guy wasn’t there, there was a younger guy I’d never seen before… It was later than usual around 1:00 a.m. and I had had the worst night of my life being stuck downtown by Trimet with no foreseeable way home which is 25 + miles south. The employee(didn’t get his name) was so incredibly rude to me that I couldn’t even finish ordering, nor was I allowed to finish looking for the trimet emergency number. Apparently you have to order a sandwich or you cannot remain inside the building, I had no problem with that but he proceeded to tell me that there were signs all over the place stating that fact.(I never saw any, and had been inside the building less than 5 minutes at this point) Then he starts yelling at me to order or get out, remember I’m already having a bad night thanks to trimet. I was stunned to say the least and almost cried at being treated like money was all that mattered to him. The area behind the counter was messier than I had ever seen it before and he wasn’t even trying to clean it up. Long story short, I gathered my grocery bags and purse and exited to the street. I must have over 100 receipts from this Subway in my purse currently, but I will never ever patronize this location ever again because obviously management doesn’t care or doesn’t know about their employee and his«stellar» customer service skills… but they should because that kind of outrageous behavior could get you sued in court or worse. Signed, No compassion or understanding for others is an ugly trait and I hope no one ever treats your mother, sister, girlfriend the way you treated me!

A 24 hour Subway. Wow, never seen that before. Thank g-d it was open at 10:45pm. I was hungry and I don’t do Micky D’s. You know the food, you know what you’re getting and I got the Tuesday special. Meatball. I do’t know why I like their meatball sub, but I do. Add some provolone, jalapenos and tomatoes and I’m one happy person. Simple and tasty. The guy working was surprisingly lively. I guess that’s a good thing, better than the alternative. That’s all I got, enjoy.

Besides doing everything you expect a subway to do. They are very considerate and caring of their customers. Their attention to detail stands out, it’s no wonder why I see a certificate on their wall for«Manager of the Year». Always asking and looking out for the customers best interest. Thanks to the two gentlemen who served my family and I.

I can’t bring myself to give a Subway a 5-star rating. But, this location is great. The staff at lunch are efficient(as mentioned), the street problem doesn’t seem to transfer inside, and they are open 24⁄7. I’ve been in during a slower afternoon period and enjoyed talking with my sandwich artist. I’m not sure what it’s like in late hours but the review below makes it sound okay. It’s true there are not late night choices nearby. This world also be a good breakfast alternative to the nearby Starbucks.

Pretty decent subway. Ignore the street element outside, they do a good job keeping the place safe and inviting. Probably have the single best manager I’ve met. They’re open 24 hours but they have 24 hour security from the building next door and things are safe 24⁄7.

Subway’s food is pretty much the same no matter where you go, so a review comes down to location and service. This location is in downtown, convenient for a lot of office workers to go to on their lunch hour. Because of this, the line can get pretty long but the sandwich artists behind the counter know this and have their system so streamlined that the line moves very quickly. I ordered a sandwich with gluten-free bread which requires them to wipe down every surface before they use it and they integrated that into the busy line without an issue. I was quite impressed! If you are in the area, a stop at this Subway is not a bad idea.

For a chain restaurant that’s open 24 hours in a city teeming with drug addicts and homeless people, this Subway location significantly exceeds my general expectations. I was staying at the Hilton up the street last week and had a midnight craving for some food. The lady at the front desk said the nearest places to get some 24-hour grub were a 7-Eleven(which I eventually found to be of extremely dubious quality) and this Subway. At a few minutes past midnight, the employees(er, sandwich artists?) were friendly and wide awake, the restaurant was quiet and clean, and the food was about as good as one can expect from Subway. Overall, this is a pretty decent place to get a sandwich, although with all the great food in Portland, I’d only bother with it late at night after everything else in the area has closed.
