I first started tanning here because it was within walking distance, and I was looking quite pail. The prices were affordable and the beds were average 20 minute beds with probably 6% UVB so you can get your daily dose of vitamin D. I should tell you now that the reason I stopped going here was not due to the business, but to my own personal reasons. When I first signed up for a month to month plan, the explanation of the tanning tax was a bit vague. The prices weren’t exactly what they were advertising, but I understand it’s a sales technique. They did EFT or automatic withdrawal for packages which was fine, but I was kind of upset as to how it was handled. When I first signed up it was near the end of the month. As weeks went by my payment slowly started coming out sooner and sooner in the month. This became a problem because sometimes I was paying other bills, not expecting it to come out, and a check is bounced, or they don’t let me tan. I finally talked to a sales associate about this — who was clueless — and he kept giving me the run-around. At one point he was explaining to me that«not all months have 30 days.» Most days when I came to tan, the usual girl at the front desk would be missing, sitting on the couch, or in the back. One time I sat and waited and eventually saw the girl coming back from her car. She proceeded to tell me all about the sale the children’s shop around across the parking lot was having. She had many conversations with me about Fashion Bug as well, but we won’t get into it. My point is, the employee ethics are missing a little bit there, and it makes the place seem a bit trashy. The beds were always clean, and even though they pushed sales, they weren’t good at selling to stubborn buyers.
