This is one of the first mexican restaurants I went to during my youth days. One of my best friends is Guatamalan and his family would frequent here. The prices have been about the same for the past decade. The lunch specials are a real steal, about half what you pay for at dinner time. The complimentary salsa and chips are great, chips are home made and come out fresh and hot served. They even have Tecate on tap which is hard to find at a lot of restaurants. The portions are huge even if you stick with the single item orders. The spicy dishes have flavor, but won’t burn your mouth either. This is also one of the few restaurants that offered free dessert after the meal. It has been a while since I’ve gone, but I hope they still hold that tradition. There is also karaōke in the bar area and dancing upstairs on the weekends. It’s never really packed and the service is quick and friendly.
