Back again, love this place. Chicken bibimbap is very good, the chicken is very tender and juicy. I was not charged for asking for kimchi on the side, and the helping was pretty generous. Every time I’ve been here, they play really mellow jazz or Korean R&B, which is really nice; feeling relaxed while you’re eating is the best. The man that is usually behind the counter, probably the owner, is extremely kind, attentive and personable. I always feel great after coming out of this place. I would give it six stars if I could.
Excellent place to eat. Hubby and I love Korean food… will mos def eat here again. The beef bulgogi was cooked to perfection and was an overall melt in your experience. Great flavor and the portions was just right.

My girlfriend of many years is Korean, and thanks to her mom’s cooking, I have developed a love for their food. When I saw The Bulgogi open I was very excited to have a Korean restaurant in the area. I’ve had both the beef bibim bap and the beef bulgogi dishes, and both are amazing. The beef is well marinated and has fantastic flavor. The dishes seem a little Americanized, but that doesn’t make them any less awesome in my opinion. I have only one complaint regarding The Bulgogi. The portion size of the dishes I’ve had is smaller than what I have seen at other Korean restaurants. Food and friendliness earn The Bulgogi five stars, but I will dock them one star, because they leave both my mouth and my stomach wanting more.

Good simple Bulgogi at a reasonable price. I keep coming back for more. Not the warmest of environment, but i get it to go anyway so doesn’t bother me at all.

My partner and I happened across this place(from Unilocal) on our drive back from the airport one night. It’s a cute little place… casual and low key. The food was awesome! I recommend the Bibimbop if you’re looking for a casual, fast foodie, yet fresh, decent meal.

The only reason why I came here was for it’s cheap rating on Unilocal. While the price range here was definitely accurate, the food portions felt small. The vibe of this place looks more of a go to restaurant rather than a family sit down area. The food itself wasn’t half bad although I wouldn’t suggest this particular restaurant for tourists in Portland. My family of 5 had to order another dish just because we were not full after our original orders. Service here was not an issue when I visited. Generally, you pay for your dishes first at the cashier and then food gets delivered to your table. With that in mind, you can tell what type of place it is. I would say food wise, this place is decent, but bigger portions would be nice.

My family tried the Chicken Bulgogi, Beef Bibim Bap, Tofu Bibim Bop and Kimchi Fried Rice. All were delicious! It was the kind of meal that tasted so good and fresh that I didn’t want to stop eating — even after I reached the point where I was totally full. The restaurant was no frills, but very clean. Excellent, friendly service and the food was served quickly. This place will definitely become a regular spot for my family. My seven and eight year old loved it!

The food was amazing, I had the beef bulgogi, the place was clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. Lucy brought me some hot Korean tea while I waited, not long, for my food. I couldn’t have been happier with my lunch today. Check these guys out!

I’m giving The Bulgogi 4 stars for the tasty food. It was definitely yummy and delicious but I’m just not used to going to a Korean restaurant without banchan. I really wish they offered this with their meal but I know that it is not your traditional Korean restaurant. We ordered kimchi fried rice and beef short ribs. Both were tasty! Owner was really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The service was great. Will definitely go back!

Food was amazing. The only place in Portland you can get authentic pork belly prepared perfectly. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. (So much better than Boke Bowl.)

Wow. I just stuffed a spicy bulgogi chicken and a beef bulgogi fries plate down in about 15 minutes. I don’t usually eat that fast but it was that good. The fried potstickers and wontons are the next. Not a health food stop though! It’s Korean American fusion and it’s kept simple and good.

Five stars for the food and service. Portions were just right and the meat was a very good quality. It’s not a fancy place. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. But the food came out quickly and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. But, this is not a traditional Korean Bulgogi place… you’re not going to be cooking the food at your table. So if you’ve been to Korea, you’re not going to get that same experience.

I have to start by saying they have Amazing service! The bibimbap was tasty, the mushrooms were my favorite part. The sauces also were very flavorful. The japchae was also good, but not as flavorful, again the mushrooms were the best part. They were also very fast despite being busy, it seems like we waited less that 5 minutes before the food arrived. Then after we finished, the cook, and I think owner, came out to ask us how the food was and thank us for coming in.

I got the kimchi fried rice and I was disappointed because it was made with bacon and made the rice oily and overpowered the kimchi. If you’re new to Korean food, this place would be ok but not if you’re looking something authentic. Also the bibimbap had shredded egg instead of fried egg.

Ugh. Hard to write this review to be totally honest. I really wanted to have good things to say about this place as others have had good experiences here but mine was not as such. The place was empty. It reminded me of a place you would eat at in a large shopping Mall. Had that bland feel to it. The girl behind the counter kept playing old school Blink 182 type music. This didn’t make me want to stay and eat. I ordered the beef bulgogi and my boyfriend got the chicken bulgogi. Last minute we decided to also get the kimchi dumplings for an appetizer. They came out more in the style of a potsticker. They were too salty. The bulgogi beef had too much sauce and a «gamey» flavor. The chicken was good. Tasted like typical chicken teriyaki. Don’t think I will be back.

Simple Korean joint in a strip mall type location. Looks like the share the parking lot with the Dollar Tree that’s behind them. The inspection report posted on the wall suggests this is a pretty new place(late March 2015 inspection date), and the inspector’s notes even say something like«nice job on the remodel». I was optimistic going in, seeing the smoke coming out the vent at the back of the building, smelling the familiar scents of Korean BBQ, and hearing the hustle and bustle in the back of the house, with a female voice calling out«Yeo Bo» to someone else(the Korean equivalent of honey or dear”). The space is open, with high ceilings, and bright orange walls with a modern feel with maybe a half-dozen tables. The menu is pretty simple — there’s a few Korean BBQ choices(beef, chicken, pork, and spicy pork), some bibimbap options, some mandu, and that’s about it. You order at the counter, get your own water behind the counter, and your table settings from the table in the middle of the room that has bins for chopsticks, spoons, forks, napkins, etc. No banchan provided, which reinforces the to-go feel. The GF had the galbi. This came out on a modern, square, white plate. Like many newer Korean restaurants, the galbi was served as chopped up bits and pieces, as opposed to being attached to the rib. The plate also had a mound of white rice, some shredded radish kimchi(mu saeng chae), and some sliced zucchini bokk eum(lightly seasoned and pan fried). The galbi seemed a little dry — not sure if this was because the pieces were cut too small and cooked faster than expected, or if the piece of meat they started with just lacked marbling. I had the chicken bibimbap. Nothing stood out, but the dish was executed well — nice, flavorful bits of chicken and good vegetables. I did notice there wasn’t an egg on top, nor was there any gochuchang. This is really a nitpick as they did have chogochuchang(a runnier, vinegary take on standard gochuchang). Service was eager, though not super coordinated. As people seat themselves, they generally have the person running the register run the food out, but it got busy while we were there, so one of the guys from the back of the house was helping to run food as well, but didn’t know where to run it, so there’d be some awkward looking around, asking the guy at the register if he wasn’t taking an order, etc(the reason why so many places have numbers you take to your table). Food also comes out as it’s done, rather than the whole tables food coming out at once. Both of these points seem to highlight the fact that they were looking to focus on to-go, as opposed to dine-in. Overall, I wouldn’t necessarily come here for authentic Korean food, but if I’ve got a craving and need something in a hurry(especially to-go), this would be a good choice.

The Beef Bulgogi was great! I would have to say though, that it was not as ‘authentic’ as i know it can be — speaking for the 1 menu item i had — the Beef Bulgogi. But if you’re looking for a good meal, at a great price — this is the place to go!
