This place made their first buck on May 3rd2011. It may be the size of a taco truck or cart, but this brick and mortar taqueria serves it up big time! Perfect! Looks to be a father son duo, serving up burritos($ 6), tacos($ 1.5), chips and salsa($ 2) quesadillas and salads. Super friendly and welcoming. I’ve had pastor and chile verde tacos. Both excellent; marinated and seasoned beautifully. They give you 2 tortillas per taco, which are filled by made-that-day meats. It is then up to you to add: salsa, guacamole, onions, tomatoes, chillies, lettuce, cilantro… They aren’t afraid of the heat here, the chile verde and guacamole had some fire, not to mention the salsas and jalapeños. Cash only — Unilocal info says credit/debit. Go here before everyone else finds out about it!

Hands down the best Mexican food in Portland! I had all but given up on finding authentic Mexican food in Portland when my land lord drunkenly dragged us to Koyote’s Grill. To be clear I am a horrible, no good intolerable snob when it comes to Mexican food. I was spoiled beyond belief in Los Angles by home made meals cooked by Mexican grandmothers and sketchy looking taco trucks in even sketchier looking neighborhoods and I can tell you with out hesitation this place is every bit as good and authentic any place I haunted a thousand miles to the south.

This is a great little gem on Foster! Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very impressed with both the delicious food and the friendly service. Not only was the chicken burrito one of the tastiest I’ve had in Portland, but the fresh chips and salsa selection were awesome. My friend ordered the tacos al pastor and liked them so much she ordered more on the spot. This place is definitely worth visiting!

This place is TINY but they make everything fresh to order. Prices are pretty cheap but get your food to go since there’s just a small bar to eat at. They have an extensive menu but nothing specifically for vegetarians/vegans. They do have lard-free beans and meat-free rice and can make you a veggie or vegan dish. I had a veggie burrito with beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa fresca and sour cream. BF had one chicken and one beef taco but they arrived with just meat in the corn tortillas, no other fixings besides the salsa bar were available. Kinda strange. He thought the meat and tortillas were good though. Service is friendly and looks to be a son working the counter and his dad making the food. Small salsa bar with flavors from mild to extra spicy but the free chips were a little stale. Nice to have this place in the hood as a much better alternative to TacoTime or Taco Bell down the street.
