The UPS Store

They get the job done, but they make sure you know how unhappy they are to help you. All I needed to do was drop off a prepaid package and even that was a hassle. I work in customer service as well and know it can be hard to be nice to everyone, but come on guys. They need to revamp their employees especially the guy with the shaved, super rude.

Amazing, outstanding, quick, and friendly customer service! Susan let me come in 5 min after they were closed to drop of my packages. USPS would NEVER do that. The two ladies working there are so so kind. Usually when I go to a postal service, it’s a huge line and then you get rude service. But this is nothing like that. Thank you both!

The staff member who helped me seemed nice, but he charged me $ 1.09 to print a single sheet of paper (black and white). I wasn’t told the price until after it was printed, and I felt ripped off. I went online and checked and the UPS store website, and another nearby UPS store charges $ 0.10 per page. I realize all UPS stores are different and will charge differently, but this one is overpriced. I’m not coming back to this UPS store again.

I stop in here every once in a while for mailing /​copying /​printing and was really surprised to read that other people have had such negative experiences. The employees here have always been SUPER nice and helpful to me! I even prefer this place over the post office because although it’s pricier, it’s so much faster and more pleasant.

Best experience I have ever had shipping an item and quite possibly the best customer service I have experienced.
I was in town to pick up my brothers belongings after he died and had to send them to Alaska — which would have cost over $ 900 had the owner not use every way possible to cut the cost down. On top of it they helped with comparing the cost if I had went through oversize luggage flying it back and they saved me an immense headache. They also recommended re-​boxing some of the items in case if mishandling and helped me in the process. Truly blown away by their customer care and made a difficult task that much easier.

My one star still stands — I would give them a negative rating if I could. After my initial scathing review, I found myself needing to ship something out during one late afternoon a few weeks ago and couldn’t avoid needing their services. It’s utterly ridiculous how awful this franchise is — why does it feel this bad to need to ship a package from this place?!
The owner Sharon should not work with the public. She continues to be unbelievably rude and has zero people skills. After realizing I couldn’t ship part of a gift I had due to restrictions, she chose to make me feel like a moron and then condescendingly said «well, the customer is always right, right?» Then she didn’t even let me know when my transaction was finished, she just turned around and went about her business so I asked «Am I good?» and she responded «Well I am, I don’t know about you.» F*** you, lady!
Part of my follow-​up is that I recieved a message after my first review from Sharon apologizing about my «perception» of her attitude towards customers and admits at times they get busy with back-​office operations. That’s not exactly an apology when you don’t take ownership of the issues mentioned and say something along the lines of «sorry it made you feel that way», not acknowledging that you did something wrong but that I as a customer «felt» you did something wrong.
I would have been so much more understanding had I gone in there and had a different customer experience the next time, but unfortuantely it was just as bad as the previous visit.
I totally agree with the other review that mentioned how they would love to see a «going out of business» sign in the window. But at the very least I can hope for different ownership someday, there’s no hope for the current one.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to this UPS store because I needed to have an I-​9 form signed by a representative/​notary. The staff was OK the first time I went into the store. I guess the guy behind the counter was a new employee. The supervisor (?) asked could she use my I-​9 as a teaching opportunity for the employee. Sure, no skin off my nose.
Things went well enough. I actually needed another document notarized (and because the I-​9 form was for a job opportunity), I paid extra to make sure the letter got to its destination by the deadline. Overall, I spent $ 28 bucks at this place.
Fast forward two weeks. I get an email from the HR department of the potential job that there was an error on the form. I figured I would go back to the UPS store to make sure we did everything right. The lady that helped me before seemed none to pleased to see me. I explained what happened. She acted annoyed. Then she asked to see my ID’s again. I gladly obliged. I handed her a few of my ID’s. Oregon ID, a passport, social security card, and even whipped out my PSU ID.
She declared none of the photos looked alike/​like me. Huh? You just looked at them a couple of weeks ago. In my passport photo I was a bit heavier, but hell folks always have slight variation to their appearance whether it’s weight, hairstyles, etc. But I know I looked like me. *rolls eyes*
Then she called an employee over (another lead worker?) They stared at my ID’s then begin to comment on my weight in the passport photo. Carrying on about it actually. You think it’s a good idea to talk about a customer’s weight in front of their face. Tacky ladies. I guess they thought they were clowning. But I am about to get the last clown.
Then the first lady asked me to sign my name and declared again that none of the signatures matched up. Give me a damn break.
Finally, I looked over the HR email and realized I could call a number to see exactly what the error was on the first form. It turned out I just forgot to sign the form.
So, these folks were rude to me for nothing. Terrible customer service. I hope one day I walk past the store and see a «going out of business» sign. It would make me smile.

Won’t go anywhere else. Pleasant, speedy and attentive. Shipping seven boxes and done in 15 minutes. Large store with everything you need. Negative reviews are hard to believe. Anomaly or perhaps rude customers, we all have had them.

I just had one of — if not the very– best customer interactions and experiences of my life. Ruth (one of the owners as it turns out) greeted me so warmly upon my entry that I thought I had found a long lost friend. She also provided superior service and even offered well thought out options for my shipment. My business concluded with a heart-​felt hug and me feeling astounded and privileged. I am never going any where else. Love this place. Love Ruth. :)

These guys are awesome! By far my favorite UPS Store. Everyone is super knowledgeable and kind. I’ve been coming here for years and even though I don’t live at PSU anymore I keep coming back, just because this peeps know what they are doing. Wether it’s domestic, international shipping or printing services, they got you for covered. They even notarize documents!!! (I learnt that today, — mind blown-)

I have come here at least five times this year and their customer service always impresses me. I could be coming in for a quick transaction or a lengthy one and they’re quick to smile and show me patience and respect. Thank you so much!

Extremely personable employees, very fair prices. I was asked and addressed by my name even for the most trivial of drop offs. Highly recommended w/​plenty of parking on 4^th.

I went with a box that needed to be taped prior to shipping. Apparently this practice heavily offends the owner. She proceeded to «threaten» to charge me, and then spend a solid 5 minutes lecturing me about being so disrespectful as to show up with an un-​taped box… Really?
You own a shipping store.
I explained that the other UPS store downtown on 3^rd has a table with tape set aside for people that come in with un-​taped boxes and it never seems to be a problem.
She didn’t believe such a thing exists. Good luck with your business…
I will not be back and will make the trek to 3^rd avenue from now on where the service is much more inclusive and pleasant!

Wow. UPS should use this location as a model for all their other ones. I had to ship a 47″ flat screen across the country. Daunting enough, but even more so when the closest parking spot we can find is 3 blocks away from the store location. Traversing a delicate TV across one of Portland’s busiest sections wasn’t a fun prospect. But then came the help of a UPS store employee. She came out with a smile on her face and manually helped us lug the TV the couple blocks, through mid-​day traffic, to the store. When there, we were greeted by another wonderful employee who clearly knew her stuff. Not only that, but after telling them my budget, they tell me «We can definitely do it for lower than that, insurance included.» Knowing that they could have easily charged me my budget price, but did not, is a rare sign of genuineness in business — especially the shipping industry.
It’s so obvious that this staff cares about every package and customer that comes through. The woman at the register was proud when she said that only 1 TV has been broken in her 4 years there, and that the one was the fault of a deliveryman. Looking at the exceptional way they treat their customers, it’s not surprising that their packages routinely arrive safe and sound.

The ladies who run this joint know how to take care of their customers! They’re genuine, always positive, and go the extra mile to help. They’re fast too, which is another bonus when I’m on a 15-​minute break.

Well, let me explain further… this place makes you want to ship packages. The women who own this store greet each customer as well as get to know their regulars.
Over the last few months, this has become like an office away from home– I make copies, use the computer, buy stamps, and compare shipping options. And, my dog is welcome and enjoys a tasty/​healthy treat for «helping» to pack the boxes.
I walk a little over a mile to get to this UPS location, passing several other shipping options, just because I always feel taken care of here.

I came here to return a defective computer power supply from NewEgg. I got a good vibe from this place walking in. The service (specifically from the woman) was warm and inviting, and the service was effective. I was in and out in less than three minutes. I’ll be back here for my future shipping ventures.

Recently, while I was on vacation, I needed to close on a real estate deal.
The Title company emailed me the docs and said, read, print, sign, notarize and overnight back to us… I thought, where the hell am I going to get all of that done in one place in 2 hours and I am afoot on vacation…
Unilocal to the rescue… I called this UPS Store closest to me, Ronda answered perfectly, I explained my plight and she said, «hey, we can do all of that right here for you and we are open until 7, love to have you come by»…I hopped the TriMet, was there in 15 minutes and seriously, they did it all!
Sharon notarized the appropriate docs, which I suspsected was going to be the major hassle…76 pages signed sealed and delivered within two hours of getting the initial email.
With their world-​class customer service, I take my hat off to Sharon and Rhonda the co-​owners of this store. They Rock!
