If you have foot issues, go here. Really, I mean now. Seriously. Quick and easy foot analysis shows which orthotics will realign your step so that you are walking properly. It feels good right away, then there are a couple of days of your body adjusting to the new posture and then you’ll forget that you had a problem. The styles are pretty cute — and still comfortable. Imagine that. Loved the customer service. We’ve interacted with three of the workers here and they were all very knowledgeable and personable. I wish every retail store would take customer service lessons from them. I(we) will buy here again.

The painstaking joy of searching out comfortable walking shoes took 4 days, walking 28 miles. From the Pearl to the Alphabet District through downtown, back and forth, I walked! My MBT walkers were smoking! Stick a fork in me, I’m done! Hallelujah! I saw the«light» at the Walking Company(Pioneer Square). The Ecco’s fit right. Yup! My first pair. Fusion style. Casual black. Comfortable leather. Breathable. Longer lasting polyurethane soles The Walking Company specializes in comfortable walking shoes – lot’s of brands and styles. If you are a prudent shopper, go on line to see all their options and sale prices. In store, service was superior. First time in, Ashley was the only Sales person(on my shoe journey) that actually shoe-horned my feet into shoes and evaluated the fit on me – nice touch! Could not make up my mind! I went back the next day. Jacqueline(Sales/shoe techie) showed me different brands and helped select the Ecco. Christie(Sales/nosy with knowledge) polished my MBT’s and did a 3D foot scan – cool! The register went Ka-ching $ 159.95. Expensive, but I will have these shoes forever. My wife can not wear out hers! She loves ‘em! I am ready to fall in love with Ecco too! Because – I am divorcing Keen shoes – too many sole delamination’s, likely due to inefficient process control in off-shore factories. I’ll «make-up» with Keen when quality improves. I almost added Doc Marten’s in my shoe stable. Their shoes are hip and a good fit. Check out their life time line. I covet good sole’s when stomping the street with my arms swinging, hips shaking and quads cranking to the rhythm of the street – as I do my Unilocal check-in thing, hankering to do another Unilocal review. The Walking Company(great service and comfortable shoes) is now responsible for my new«mojo» Ecco walk and strutt around PDX – and more check-in’s for ya all! I am the Unilocalin Liaison!

I am picky about my shoes. I broke both of my ankles years ago and have nerve damage in them, so I can only wear certain shoes. Their shoes are supportive, attractive, and well made. You will easily spend over $ 100 though on most pairs. The sales girl was as sweet as punch. I really went in with the intention of browsing, but she kept me so engaged in conversation I lingered long enough to fall in love with a pair of sandals. Don’t give them your email address though, or your email box will fill up quickly.

Mama’s Got a New Pair of Shoes! What do you do when you are in Downtown Portland, just blocks away from a job interview, and your shoe breaks? If you are a lucky duck or beaver you would just walk into the closest shoe store and pick out a new pair, easy peasy, wham bam thank you shoeman. Unfortunately for this gal, I’m under strict orders from my Doc to only wear«good» shoes. I know, I know, if you are a Guy, you haven’t even made it this far in to the review, and if you are a Gal, you are thinking, well she obviously can’t wear cute shoes so I can just stop reading now. WAIT! KEEPREADING, this place has«good» shoes and they can be cute, plus they have Guy footwear as well. So let me share a few salient points to enhance this tale, first I hate shopping, things cost too much and moola is dribbling into my pocket a drip at a time, so shopping is not a pleasure for me these days. Next, finding the afore mentioned«good» shoes the Doctor ordered is work and no one is paying me to do it. The definition of «good» shoes means they have built-in arch support and other various things that make shoes more pricey. For some reason, the designers of cute shoes don’t seem to care about our foot health, so it can be a real challenge. On the rare occasions when I have tried to get away with a «regular» pair of foot coverings, I end up limping, barely able to walk on my right foot. With that all said we can now return to our regularly scheduled Unilocal Review. I shuffled into the Rotunda of Pioneer Place Mall, I am not familiar with malls in general, but was thrilled to see that this area was small, I spied a directory and before I could make my way to it, shoes shouted out at me from opposing windows. I perused the windows of The Walking Company and was thrilled to see at least two pairs of shoes that I thought would work. I stepped through the doors and was warmly greeted by two sales staff. I immediately shared my dilemma and asked to see the shoes in the window, one of the pairs was on sale!!! They quickly brought out the pair from the stock room and bing bang boom, I had me a new pair of «good» cute shoes that went well with my interview outfit and didn’t cost me too much. As they rang up my purchase, we discussed other lines that I might want to try in the future, both stylish and good for my feet. No pressure, no hard sell, just great customer service. They offered to keep my other shoes for me until after the interview as it doesn’t look so good to walk in with a shopping bag, and upon my return, they were walking out to me with the bag practically before I had stepped through the stores doors. Thank you to the Staff and Buyers of The Walking Company, I don’t know if I got the job, but I looked good for the interview and I enjoyed and appreciated the selection and service!
