I got the mole enchiladas and can’t say enough good things about them. Delicious! I will go back.

One of the many fine carts at the Portland Mercado, and it’s all about the tlayuda, people. This Oaxacan dish is like a giant tostada, basically. Large, baked tortilla base, topped with creamy, refried black beans, veggies, meat if ya like, sliced avocado, and tomato, with a lil bit of cotija sprinkled all over. It comes whole, on a large platter, and can be a little challenging to eat with the dinky plastic ware. If you really want to own that thing, bring a knife and also some salt. That was the only glaring omission I recall. Have a couple of friends on hand to help you eat this thing, and about three dozen napkins. Tlayuda, drinks from Barrio, a handful of tiny cookies from the bakery, and you’ll be all set for the proper Mercado meal experience. Olé!

Mole is so good!!!(Is mole dulce tho) Tlayudas need to have more quesillo(oaxacan cheese) and they will be perfect, other than than, customer service is good, location is convenient, will try quesadillas next time

I sampled a carnitas taco at the Pioneer Square Farmer’s Market, and I’m a complete convert. A big pile of meat graced a nutty, tender, flavorful blue corn tortilla. If only I’d found them in the beginning of the summer instead of only one month left for the season. I will definitely be there on each of the next four Mondays! One for $ 3.00 makes a hearty snack, two should do it for a meal. Their mild salsa is a green tomatillo concoction that is so tangy I opted for that instead of heat. Thanks for renewing my faith in the possibility of five star Unilocal reviews.

Our first time trying this cart. We split a tlayuda — and barely managed to finish because it was huge. It was made when we ordered, with loads of fresh vegetables. The tortilla had clearly been toasted as no grease was evident. We will definitely return.

Now located at the Portland Mercado pod near 73rd and Foster(opened April 2015). They had been selling their food at a local Farmer’s Market for a couple years before this. As a note, the grand opening in early April was a complete madhouse. There is a private lot for Portland Mercado to park in; otherwise, just park on the street nearby. All local and/or organic ingredients. The meat comes from Carlton Farms. TACOS($ 3 each): Handmade blue corn tortillas. Got one al pastor, one pollo, one carnitas. Each meat was juicy and flavorful. If I had to pick one, my preference would be the al pastor; extra dimension of flavor from the pineapple and guajillo chiles. To be fair, probably not a $ 3 taco only because I’d need 5 – 6 of these to feel remotely content. We don’t want sad panda wallets in my neck of the woods. Hot sauces range from mild to extra hot. Mild is refreshing. Hot is creamy and has a some kick. Extra hot is smokier and more kick than hot. I take shots with all three because I can. Panda rebel. The Tlayuda is a dish resembling a Mexican pizza. Thin, crispy tortilla shell with a festive amount of toppings. 14″ in diameter and $ 15. Frankly, a real good way for a family to share. This is a great place to go. Check it out!

4.5! Tasty traditionalish Mexican food. Great tacos. Quality ingredients. Little expensive for a cart.
