Moldy candied lotus seeds and preserved fruits for Chinese New Year! I bought several bags and opened one of the bags the very next day after purchase, but found the problem. I went to return the unacceptable products(a couple days later) while alerting the company about their spoiled products(expecting that they would apologize, give proper refund, and remove the spoiled products still on their shelves/containers), but sales person/cashier refused and argued relentlessly that it was not their problem, and nobody had the authority to refund! After explaining the issues again to 2 other employees, they reluctantly gave a refund/exchange. They could see the same moldy products in the bags on their shelves/containers, but refused to remove them or acknowledge the breach of health/hygiene standards. Very unpleasant experience! Addendum: After calling several times in the following days, I was finally transferred to talk to the person in charge, Mrs. Chen. She stated that she was not aware of the situation, but would remove the moldy products if she found them. She asked me to bring back the other spoiled products for refund and apologized for the inconvenience.

Two words: Rickshaw tea. Ok, a few more words: black & white brand sweetened condensed milk. Rejoice, real good HK milk tea can be made in Portland! That is all you need to know.

Small neighborhood Chinese market. It has your essentials, a small seafood/meat area, and a wall of fresh vegetables. The aisles are small and cramped and I think I spent more time waiting for people to pass by than actual shopping. Prices seem comparable to the big Fubonn market. However, this places does give off a more«authentic» Chinese marketplace than most places.

This is an Asian grocery store/Chinese herbal medicines. The prices are good and sometime they have incredible deals on some items that below other market. The down side would be parking is terrible. They only have two registers with one line. The line is always long and move really slow. The cashier don’t really care about the long line, they talk the whole time and that’s what slow them down. I prefer not to come here unless I have to. I usually go to Chang Fa market, they are very friendly. If you need Chinese herbal medicines and don’t speak Chinese, I would go to Wing Ming Herbs.

This place is own by Chinese people, all workers are Chinese, so it feels really welcoming. PRO: — they have live shrimp, if you care for it. They are like the only ones that have it out of the many seafood/grocery stores. — more traditional stuff, you can buy incense, and paper to burn for festivals. — the people that cut your veggiess and package them are like old chinese people, so it means old people have work, no age discrimination here! yay! — longan is 3.99/lb and at abc seafood it is 6.99/lb. this place is cheaper., if you buy a box, it is 72 dollars! — it has a variety of crackers, sauce, veggies, drinks — dried shrimp, that is HUGE, only 18 dollars per pound! — free soy sauce/oyster sauce for spending X amount of money. — you can always buy things per a box, it is like your chinese costco. CON: — no fresh fish, maybe tilapia at times — parking, there is a parking lot but it is shared by the apartments and there is street parking, which I am not a fan. Suggestions — want fish, more variety, — — - wing’s market –want geoduck — – om’s seafood — check next door grocery place, since some things might be cheaper there! This is a really good store in general.

I really like this store. It’s not the most spacious store but their prices are very comparable and almost always cheaper than other asian grocery markets in the Portland area. All their foods are very organized and easy to find by aisle and they have all the essentials for a traditional and even nontradition Asian family. They even sell seafood at great prices! The owners are extremely nice people and very generous to their customers. Ever since i can remember, if you spend over a certain amount, say $ 25, they’ll give you a free gift like a bottle of oyster or soysauce… the money you save on those items really add up! I don’t go to any other grocery store except that one and their prices are so good i drive all the way from Bend, Oregon there every weekend to stock up on grocery! I love this place and is now a very loyal customer! Btw, they DO accept cash, card, and even foodstamp so head on over!

Don’t let the name fool you, its really an Asian grocery store headed up by a nice Chinese family. Its not a super large store, but they do tend to carry a lot of necessary items for this developing area of Southeast Portland. The neighborhood was really sketchy at one point in time, but since this place went up, its been cleaned up tremendously. The only thing they need to work on is the parking situation as it can be a total pain to find decent parking here. Prices are good here for the most part, in fact, fairly similar to all of the other Asian grocery stores out there. This just happens to be one of the best in the neighborhood. Bonuses are they take credit card and the lines can get somewhat long during the early evening and on the weekend.
