Todd’s Point S Tire and Auto Service

I have been going to todd and his employees for a number of years (10?). I have bought 2 sets of tires for both my vehicles from Todd. I have always received a very competitive price and excellent customer service. Explanations are clear and comprehensive. Appointments are easy to get and work is always done when expected. I highly recommend having your vehicle worked on here and definately purchasing tires from Todds tire factory.

Michelin tires bought here died prior to half their warranted lifetime. They were warranted for 80K miles and died at 38K. One of the tires was my fault, as I didn’t notice it was low for too long. At intake, without even measuring tread or examination more than a walk around, I was told they weren’t warrantable. Rotations were done mostly in their store, but they couldn’t access their former computer system to prove that. I was told that my particular car was «hard on tires.»
After an initial disappointing interaction with an employee, the owner was more forgiving the next day, and did give me quite a bit of free service due in addition to a relatively reasonable price on new tires – free oil change, engine and cabin filters, alignment, and wipers. I left fairly pleased. Not a five star, as my satisfaction required a 2^nd visit. No one ever actually inspected my tires beyond a walk by (no one touched the old tires until they were removing them to replace) except the bad one. I’m sure they were able to sell the 3 non-​damaged tires, as they had life left. Last fall, with 4200 fewer miles, I was quoted a warranty trade-​in of $ 368 at the same place, and suddenly that warranty had disappeared. This week, I got some free services worth much less than that tossed in.
Todd is quite concerned with customer service, and I will likely return. Better than your average place, but I still feel vaguely ripped off on my tires, which were supposed to be «good» tires, which I paid a premium for. I do actually watch my tire pressures and fill at the gas station. I do get my tires rotated as recommended. Don’t count on being a regular somewhere to maintain your rotation schedule. Note when you add air as needed somewhere, and what your pressures are.

Ok, so you’re used to using Costco for tire purchases and Les Schwab for suspension and chassis issues, both of which are good at what they do, so why is there a need to go elsewhere? There wasn’t. However, I needed something very minor done and/​or evalutated, so I glanced at Unilocal for tire and auto repair stores on the East Side and found (Todd’s) Tire Factory, along with fairly uniformly good ratings. I found that this listing is located across the street from Eastport Plaza (that’s right: Walmart, LA Fitness, Dollar Tree, the cinemas, the USPS branch, yada yada).
The first thing that is apparent at Tire Factory at SE 82^nd is how customer oriented they are in the front office, and that includes Todd, who is the apparent proprietor of this Tire Factory store. The next thing that is apparent is the «get to it» and friendly attitude of those who work in the service bays at this Tire Factory. I was informed of what the situation was in a casual and informal manner which respected my intelligence, and was given a choice of options, which did not include any unnecessary salesmanship. While I was there, I also obtained pricing for a future service item that can be done at either a GM dealership or a Les Schwab location and the Tire Factory price appeared to be no b.s. and slightly lower than that of the others mentioned.
They are primarily a Western outfit, with locations in roughly the same states as Les Schwab. In some areas, such as NorCal, they are not as heavily represented. In other areas, there are many locations. Their warranty page shows their locations map, while the store finder link seems to work by zeroing in on an area, so here’s the map:
Note that they are also found in Alaska and South Dakota. So, if you’re wanting to take a closer look at a grizzly bear and savor the midnight sun or look at 4 famous Presidents’ faces carved into a mountainside, and driving there, they’ll be there for you. If you are wanting to see the Liberty Bell or swim on the Redneck Riviera, and driving there, they won’t be. I’d say 4.25 stars based on my experiences with them thus far.

This isn’t just a tire store they do full service mechanic work… who knew. I know a little something about cars and I know it’s hard to find a shop that is honest, knowledgable, and affordable and this shop is excellent. Most shops try to pull one over on you if you are female but not here… I fully trust these guys and on top of that they are personable and a lot of fun. We keep coming back for all of our auto needs. Thanks for fixing my van… what a life saver.

This place has very competitive prices but the customer service is what will keep me coming back. They are friendly and will spend the time talking with you about the best choice for your needs.

Very happy with this place. Les Schwab told me I needed a new sway bar but didn’t take appts and could never get me in to actually replace it so I decided to try Todds. They had it done in 10 minutes and told me it was just a loose bolt, no charge. Will definitely come here next time.

TODDS tire factory! My boyfriend recommended this place to me because he’s been coming here for years. I am truly blown away with the service i received. I’ve never had an auto place, or anyone really be so accommodating to my specific needs. I had a real time restriction amongst other thing’s and they met me with a solution at every corner. Todd is an honest dude who doesn’t bull shit you. He really seems to be concerned with getting you what you want and not just making money. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you guys!!!

Charged $ 190 in labor to replace a sensor that takes under five minutes to replace. One screw. That’s it. One screw right on top off the engine. My mom could fix it. Rip off! They also tried to charge an extra hundred to replace dash bulb. But hey, they did put air in one tire at no charge.
Also, they messed up the accelerator cables when fixing the sensor, so that the idle speed was way too high to pass DEQ. They wanted to charge me again to fix the problem they messed up. They were going to charge me a $ 100 just to diagnose it, and it started when I got my car back from them.

This is not Less Swab.
The prices are better, ther service is coplimntary and they often help out when they aren’t obligated to.
So they are the closest tire shop to my home and as such when my car (which seems to happen all too often) find a nail I need it repaired.
They do this for free.
Their reasoning is that they «only work» on tires they sell but these were factory on the car and so I never bought tires.
So when my other car needed tires, I got them here and it was great.
I often frequent the Tire Factory on Sunnyside as years ago they gave me the best price on a tire and I have just kept going there but the service was never the best.
But now I go here.

I was visiting portland and noticed I had a leaking tire. I happened to find this place and glad I did. They fixed my tire fast and for FREE and sent me on my way. That’s awesome!!! (I was about to get ready to pay and they told me «It’s on the house».)The people here are really pleasant to converse with and do business with. A+++++++

So, I have been to this Tire Factory location 4 times now. Every time they have been super courteous and professional. I, like lots of other people, am very wary of mechanics because of all the potential for screwjobs and incompetency. I took a chance on these guys when I bought tires for my Explorer, Henry, and the gamble paid off. Last week Henry started blowing only cold air and by the power of the great Google, I figured out that I needed a new Blend Door Motor (whatever the hell that is.) After calling around, I was left with the terrible news that this would be about a $ 700 job. Tire Factory quoted me at $ 750 because its a labor intensive job and they weren’t quite sure how long it would take. I trusted their work and so I made an appointment to spend 750 smackaroonies. Kevin, who has been at the front desk every time I’ve gone in, was super nice as always and made me feel confident in my choice of mechanics. When I came back later that day to pick olé’ Henry up, he was good as new! But here’s the kicker: the mechanic who worked on my car (Jeff, who was really cool) just so happened to have a weird tool that allowed him to work on Henry without having to dismantle the dash as much as he thought he would have. So I came out spending $ 268 dollars less than what I thought I was going to spend! Now listen, they could have easily told me that it was a long hard job (tee-​hee) but they didn’t they were honest. It’s Christmas time and with 5 kids to shop for, this was an amazing gift they gave me. They have earned my utmost loyalty and highest of praise.

Great service, wide range of in-​stock tires and very reasonable prices.
Pulled in yesterday afternoon, looking for a tire size pretty much every other dealer said couldn’t be found (a LT All-​Terrain 225/​75R16). Not only could they get in the specific tire I was after, they had another brand in stock in the same specs. Other tire stores were trying to talk me into a P rated 235/​70R16, but these guys just know tires.
They also swapped over the front control arms on my car, after getting OEM replacements flown up from CA overnight at no extra charge. All up, they came in at $ 300 less than the next nearest quote and got the whole job (2 arms and 5 tires plus alignment) done in 3 hours, rather than a week.
I dealt with Todd, who was very knowledgable and friendly and went out of his way to get everything I could ask for (including swapping the spare tire over at short notice). Could not recommend them more thoroughly, ¹⁰⁄₁₀.

Deceptive Service. I went in to get my tire fixed. There was a nail in it and was consistantly leaking air every 2 weeks. I went in the first time and paid 10 bucks for them to fix it. They said it was fixed and all is good. 3 weeks later my tire starts leaking air again. Came in again and this time they said the tire cannot be fixed since all the tires are worn out and must be changed immediately. Why didnt they say this 3 weeks ago. Well I asked for the price to change all tires and guess what. They were asking for 650– 700 for all tires to be changed. I walked out and went to another place. Dick’s Tire Inc. They fixed the tire and showed me why my tire was leaking air. Turns out the Tire Factory plugged the hole and never took out the nail. Shaddy. I got an estimate at Dick’s and it’s only 415 bucks to change all my tires. Will never go to Charlie Bretz Tire Factory again. Never Again!

I live close to the shop and my battery died one day right at closing time, and the guys there walked down the street and boosted my car so I could drive to the shop. Then they stayed open (even though it was now 15 minutes after closing) and replaced my battery so that I could take my out of town guest around town. Great service, and very friendly staff.

After owning my car for 4 years, I finally hit my first flat tire. I wore out my tires pretty well since I drive all over town on a weekly basis. So when it came down to getting new tires I did some research first.
I called around for quotes on 4 new tires. Les Schwab was asking for about $ 400 plus and some other local places were asking the same price. Wal-​Mart aka Crack Mart turned out to be the most expensive including installation along with Firestone. Finally I hit the jackpot with Tire Factory.
The guy on the phone quickly looked up for what I needed. I got 4 tires for about $ 337 that even included installation. He had to order them from the where house but they would arrive the next day. He called the next day saying they would arrive a little later but they were ready when I got off from work. After dropping my car off, took about half hour to get them taken care. I came back with new tires installed and no additional add on B.S. that some other companies usually do. I was taken care of and the warranty has some cool perks such as free tire rotations and free air to add on the tires. I walked away as a happy customer will definitely go back.
