Came here on a Sunday when Gorditos was closed and I was desperate for a burrito. The guys running the place were very friendly and said not to feel limited by the menu; that they’d make whatever I wanted. I stuck to a veggie burrito for the wife and an asada burrito for me. Perhaps I was just too much in the mood for Gorditos but I didn’t think mine was so good and my wife barely touched hers. I just didn’t care for the flavor of it. I know they are just getting started and there could be improvement so if I shall find myself in a similar circumstance, I might try it again and give an update. It’d have to be on a Sunday, though, as I’d choose Gorditos over this place every other day of the week.

News Flash! He’s going to call it «Los Celosos» meaning the jealous ones. The signs on this place are all lifted from other businesses. Funny. I tried the lamb gyros, which was $ 6. It came with a little plastic tub of tahini, which was good since the sandwich was kind of dry. And weird! Have you ever had rice in a gyros sandwich? There was a lot of rice. It was ok, but I didn’t love it and didn’t feel great after eating it. To be fair I should try his mexican stuff, tortas or something, but with Los Gorditos a block away it’s going to be tough. Maybe I should try the burger and fries. One extra star for being near my house and for hilarious signs and eating area stuff all from A-1 Bird Bath.

firstly with coffee. its hot plate fare so avoid it late in the day. it made instant coffee taste like peets. X( my food: cheese burger. comes with frys 4.50 nice bun plesant vegies bread & butter pickles(bonus points) properly cooked the good kind of slow(you are more sure its cooked but not waiting forever.) nice seating arangement. good frys riders of the 4-division eastbound may have noticed a new obnoxious yellow blur before 50th. this is «the unamed yellow foodcart» i like to call it food to go beacuse thats what it says over the window. if the only thing i had wanted was coffee i would have been better of walking to stumptown for a latte. unless you catch the fresh pot avoid the coffee in the evening. its burnt.(at least thats what i got.) however, as my coffee went cold, the cheese burger was another story. it was well cooked, eatable hot(no burns) and was tasty. the greatest point is the use of bread and butter pickles. they make this more than the usual and bring it to a memory forming experance(when you taste the sweet pickle you will understand) the burger was served with a side of frys. while still hot these are wonderfull. warm, flavorfull and obviously well made.(no mc strips here). the atmosphere is laid back and casual. friendly as well. a recomended experance. 3⁄5 for now

I just ate a curried-chicken burrito from a food cart with no name that serves a mix of Mexican(burritos/tacos), Greek(gyros and kebabs), and American(pastrami sandwiches). If that’s not random enough for you, I’m not sure what is. I saw this crazy yellow truck set up in the vacant lot at 48th and Division next to the A-1 Bird Bath Supply house, and all of the random signs and things just called out to me. I had to stop here for lunch. The sign atop the truck advertises coffee, beer, wi-fi and food, and the signs on the side of the truck feature dancing cartoon veggies. The strange, multi-national mix of food defies categorization. I did try to interact with the guy running the cart. First I asked him what his specialty was, and he told me that everyone seems to order the gyros. That didn’t answer my question, so I decided to pick the most random thing on the menu, my reasoning being that why would you stick a totally random, not-fitting dish on a menu unless there’s something special about it right? It would be like if you opened a burger stand but you just by chance were a master of making pot pies. Normally you wouldn’t add a pot pie to a burger stand menu, but damn if it’s good, you gotta share it with the world! So anyway, I ordered a curried chicken burrito. As I stood there waiting for my burrito, I tried as hard as I could to help think up a good name for this poor unnamed orphan. The Grexican Sandrito Stand? The Mexireek + Pastrami Sandwich Cart? Psycho Dancing Veggies? A-1 Birdbath Supply Vacant Lot Randomness? All would be fitting, but none of them roll off the tongue. So when my hot log of curried meat, rice, and onions was ready, I asked the guy«so what’s the name of this cart?» He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and told me he’s still working out the menu and his overall concept. Language barrier aside, either this dude was messing with me or I’m just not smart enough to understand his grand vision. Either way, the curry burrito was totally made fresh and was interesting, different, and kinda tasty in a plain yet yummy sort of way. It’s exactly what you would picture from a curried chicken burrito. It’s not Thai or Indian, but that sort of S&B/Vermont Curry that you can buy at the store in packets. The chicken was good quality(pulled, not chopped), and the rice was, well, rice. This looks like it will be a semi-permanent location for this cart(which is, in fact, an old, converted Darigold box truck), so until we find a name for it, it remains«Unnamed Yellow Food Cart.»
