Wonderful environment. Second tallest building, but largest in Portland. This building has a nice rosy pink reflection made out of glass. There’s also a plaza connected to the building with restaurants, shops, gym, mini mart, Starbucks, etc. I believe Portland City Grill is located on 30th floor of the tower. Location is right off of Burnside and is kitty corner from a block full of food carts. Convenient max stop on each side of the building.

This building is awesome, it’s got anything you need, any kind of business you might need — it’s there. Dry cleaners? Yes. Starbucks. Yes. Gym, hair salon, florist… The restaurant on one of he top floors(Portland city grill) has a very good happy hour in the evening, priced well below what you’d expect from a place with such a gorgeous view and in the dead center of downtown.

The US Bancorp Tower is the(second) tallest building in Portland, but it has the most stories. Also known as Big Pink, this massive edifice stands 43-stories tall, and spans 2 city blocks. It’s freakin’ huge, and requires multiple banks of elevators to whisk the worker bees to and from their cubicles with ease. Clad in pink granite and reflective glass, it’s both sexy and ugly at the same time. It’s one of Portland’s most recognizable landmarks and an iconic fixture in the city’s skyline. I used to work on the 41st floor of this building, but my office extended to floor 43, which afforded us epic views of the greater Portland area. From that height, everything starts to look a little more flat, and the perspective is fantastic. You don’t need a weather report or a traffic update when you work on the 41st floor — you can just look out your window and see what’s happening and, for the weather, what’s headed our way. Overall, it’s a solid building. It never fell down when I worked in it, the elevators were fast enough, and the security staff did a good job of keeping the place free of riff raff. One downside(or for some, an upside) to working here is that once the bar on 30(Portland City Grill) opens at 4pm, the elevators headed to the upper floors start to reek of booze. It’s great when you’re on your way to party, but if you’re working until late night and you have to share the ride with a buncha drunks, it’s not so fun. A huge upside to working here is the proximity to the food carts on 5th at Oak. The food offerings inside the building are sub-par, so the ability to grab really tasty take-out from the carts next door is a HUGE bonus. Overall, not a shabby place to work(unless your job sucks, then you hate life regardless). My only question — Why the pink granite? What’s wrong with white?!
