I won’t shop here because their commercial is so obnoxious! I have never hated a place because of an add however Allen Wayside Furniture takes it to that level of annoying.

Purchased a sofa at ALLENSWAYSIDEFURNITUREINPORTSMOUTH, NH. PLEASEDONTGOTHERE– very bad experience. Let me explain. Pd $ 766. Included $ 99.- GUARDSMAN5 yr. FURNITURE protection plan. Only have had the sofa 1MONTH. SEAMONSIDE of couch let go & worse still CUSHIONS on couch hardly had any stuffing. VERYDISAPPOINTEDWITHQUALITYOFTHECOUCH. Complained to BARBARA, Customer service rep, for 15 yrs. Said, «Oh, honey, that’s the shabby chic style» & «all you have to do is go to fabric store &BUY stuffing & fill cushions. Stopped by store the young guy that sold me sofa said that a bought a MODERATELYPRICEDSOFA. & that was that. Called BARBARA after 2 trips to store & several phone calls– she said THEREARENOREFUNDS&EXCHANGES. I ask to speak with a manager or owner. She said they will not be calling you back. Really? Do yourself a favor & stay away from ALLENSWAYSIDEFURNITUREANYLOCATION. THEYDONTCAREABOUTTHEIRCUSTOMERS&HAVEEXTREMELYBADCUSTOMERSERVICE. Wouldn’t you think they would want their customers to be happy with a purchase & tell friends & family of a GOODEXPERIENCE. & have repeat business. I feel like that company knocked me down, & grabbed $ 766.- out of my wallet. & said „at least I made a sale“ Who cares about you.» SAVEYOURSELFALOTOFFRUSTRATION& avoid ALLENSWAYSIDEFURNITURELIKETHEPLAGUE! I got the spiel about how if i didn’t buy allen furniture made in ‘merica then I was buying junk. They will also ask you what your political affiliations are which was rude. Bottom line is, to spend that kind of money on what felt like fabric covered pieces of granite just didnt make sense. I ended up at jordans furniture, you should too!

I went to Allen’s Furniture in Portsmouth yesterday with my husband. We are remodeling our living room. I was greeted by a sales women who checked with another woman to see if she had what I was looking for. I had a picture from a designer I am working with. The second woman immediately insulted the furniture I was looking at. She said it was of low quality and I should not put my money into a designer but better furniture. And it wasn’tmade in the USA. I did not like being spoken to like this. I even asked why she would say that. And she said because it was true. The older lady tried to do damange control. She wanted to show us other things. She also pointed out several times that the sofa I was looking at was of low quality. I should have just walked out but I needed to figure this out. Was the sofa actually low quality? I was very uncomfortable and upset. Even though the older lady tried to help she still went about it in a very negative way. I had earlier that day bought a couple of chairs else where. She also was negative about the other store and said she would have treated us better, with free delivery. Meanwhile I was very happy with the chairs from the other store.. It was a very negative experience at Allen’s Furniture. The ending is even worse. When left and were driving home. I looked at the specs on the furniture from my designer and lo and behold in was made in the USA. So Allen’s Furniture obviously doesn’t know what they are talking about. Also, they didn’t have that brand name, whcih is probably the real reason they threw down the sofa. She even went so far as to say the pieces in the room didn’t go together and she could have done a better job herself. We then drove to a third store. Where the lady we met said there was nothing wrong with the sofa we were looking to buy. Even though she didn’t sell it. She showed us things similar to price and style and was very professional and polite. There was no need for Allen’s Furniture to behave the way they did. The first woman was very rude and the second I would not buy anything from with those kind of negative sales ethics. So bottom line DON’T BOTHERTOSHOPATALLEN’S FURNITURE. They aren’t unprofessional at all. Very negative experience.
