Let me start by saying that the coffee is great, the selection is fantastic, and the food is really good. The problem is the current customer service — BIGTIME — these ladies are just miserable people and outright rude. I hate saying this because I really used to love this place(and as far as the«product» goes, I do when it comes to that). I just wish they would just let go of the staff and hire new people that enjoy what they do and treat people nice. Again, such a bummer writing this because I really like everything else. I just think customer service is just as important and there should be a LOT more effort here. Good luck getting any of them to say hello or your welcome… or *gasp* thank you. They brighten up whenever the local cops pop in — that’s about it.

Coffee here is good! They roast it themselves and have a nice selection of flavored, medium and dark roasts. They also carry organic coffee. Ambience is nothing special, kind of boring. They have outdoor seating there as well that overlooks the parking lot. I order the hazelnut coffee hot or iced and I love it. I am not usually a fan of flavored coffee but something about this one is delicious. Chocolate chip cookies are pretty good, too. I haven’t eaten anything else there. Only downside… waitstaff seems really friendly to the regulars and not super interested in new or infrequent customers(unless the newbies are attractive men). I have never been greeted at the counter with a hello or a «have a good day» after I pay. Luckily I don’t take it personally and I continue to come back every now and then(handful of times per year) for the coffee.

I love their Capone roast and get a ½ lb. every week($ 7.00). You can’t beat local beans. Service can be spotty though, and the space isn’t very big. Neither of those things will keep me from returning, however.

The baked goods were dry and the staff was awful. Never again.

Ordered a large iced latte with caramel flavoring. With out showing me the ungodly size of their large(McDonald’s super size me) they poured me what I think was espresso from a container from a fridge rather than getting it fresh. I then asked what flavors they had and the lady just pointed to a shelf of flavorings in the back that you can’t even see. I can’t even comment on the quality of the coffee because the caramel flavoring was so old it actually tasted like they put alcohol in it. Now even if you don’t mind the slightly rude baristas, the taste, and size of the coffee, the cost was unreal eclipsing 10 $ I did have a small coffee with that as well. I thought I grossly over paid for Starbucks…

People are always friendly! Coffee is fresh. I can smell the beans roasting from my house. So awesome! My mom bought a percolator and had questions and kets just say she now is an expert on beans! The owner took alot of time give us edification on coffee, different roasts, grinds. He made my mom feel she was important!

They roast their own coffee in-house and it is hands down the best tasting coffee I’ve ever had. I’m knocking a star off for a subpar bacon, egg, and cheese, but their baked goods are decent!

This little coffee shop has a cozy feel. The people who work there are very friendly, and I love the décor. The place is also very clean, including the bathroom. I don’t tend to go for coffee shops, because I’m not a coffee drinker. I went in there to see if they had unsweetened iced tea. I found that they had THREE flavours — regular, ginger peach, and raspberry. I tried the ginger peach, and it was delicious! I wish they had better hours. I tried to go here one evening last week and found that they were closed. They’re only open until 6pm weekdays and 5pm on weekends. Also, their prices are a little steep. A small iced tea was $ 2.50, and a large(20 ounces) was $ 4.

Good coffee… not a great place — cramped and boring. But, again, the coffee is good!

A dog friendly coffee shop. Very good iced coffee and great selection of beans. Great bagels too. Super friendly staff, never a long wait. Love it.

Café looked good from the outside, the inside is ‘ok’ in terms of ambiance. My big hangup — I don’t get why businesses can’t establish clear demarcations for«order here» and«pay here». Myself and my friend came in for a quick cap & americano, people are standing everywhere and there was one girl at a cash register — not sure if she is taking orders or receiving payment. So an altogether unpleasant experience, we purchased nothing more than my cap since it was a virtual impossibility to order. It took over 10 minutes in 2 lines to pay(coffee making excluded). Cap foam, nicely done. Espresso — a bit bitter. Drank the foam and threw out the coffee.

Was visiting Portsmouth NH and was looking for a coffeeshop not in downtown and I’m so glad to have found this place. Tucked away in a strip mall, the coffee, banana bread and bagel with cream cheese here were good for a quick stop(and it is very rare that I like non-Starbucks coffee)!

Place is definitely outside downtown, and in a shopping plaza. Hate to say it, but I found the coffee to be too hot and a bit mediocre. It was acceptable and drinkable, but I would rather get my coffee elsewhere when I’m in Portsmouth again.

Out of all the choices for coffee in the Portsmouth area this has to be the best for the product but the atmosphere. Located across from Hannaford tucked away in small strip mall. Product:They roast the bean right in the shop which they sell and brew. A basic yet practical coffee menu. I ordered a latte which had a nice thin foam and attempted latte art. It was good but had a kinda funky taste to it. They use Hatchland dairy milk which is nice since it is local and natural product. Prices are average to higher than other coffee shops in town. Coffee by the pound was from $ 10 to $ 15, medium latte was around $ 3.50. Also some nice looking cookies! Atmosphere is rather dull and bright fluorescent light, more of 1980’s deli/café feel. Clean yet not sparkling. Service was friendly. Worth checking out for coffee and snack.

I’ve always sort of passed by Port City Coffee Roasters because it isn’t quite downtown and is sort of set back from the road. But I stopped by after reading some reviews. The first thing I saw when walking in was their coffee bean roaster actively roasting beans. It was pretty cool. There are a few tables and chairs to sit at but I ordered a coffee to go. They had a ton of flavor syrups and I ordered a toasted marshmallow latte. It was great and their espresso is very smooth. The girl who made my drink was friendly and she did some latte art as well :) They had some baked goods and sandwiches and soup. I picked up a chocolate mint chip cookie and it was soooooo good!

Really good coffee. I got the Rainforest something or other, and it was rich and flavorful(no, really) without being acidic. The people at the counter were friendly and knowledgable. Low D bag quotient.

Without a doubt, THE best coffee in Portsmouth. They have the science of roasting down to a… They recently added home made cupcakes and they are wonderful, at least the chai one I tried was. I have been going here for years. I love that they are getting busy enough to have extra staff on which makes for virtually no wait. Another added bonus from last summer are the Valerio’s sandwiches to go. A wonderful price for a quick bite… the Italian is top notch. This place rocks top to bottom. I buy the coffee by the cup and the pound. I even give it away as gifts.

I think that these guys have the best coffee in town! I highly recommend their Mudslide coffee hot or iced. In the summer I got it iced, and in the winter I’ve been purchasing their 1lb bags to brew my own and bring to work in a thermos with me each day instead of going by Starbucks.

The coffee is pretty good at Port City Coffee Roasters which is located in the back of the Gallagher’s Place strip plaza. This small coffee shop serves up a good variety of hot and cold drinks including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, tea, chai, bottled drinks, baked goods, soup, salads, and breakfast & panini sandwiches. Several varieties of fresh roasted coffee beans are available by the pound. I enjoy stopping here on a warm day for the Iced Mochachino and Frozen Mochachinos which are very refreshing with a very smooth and sweet taste and goes very well with a large chocolate chip cookie. NOTE: There’s very limited seating inside and few tables outside along the sidewalk out front. WEBSITE:
