We described in details on what need to be done. They provided a quote. We agreed to the quote then they jerked us around on when they would do the job. They may come on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday(seriously no definitive timeline). A week goes by, tried to call again, same excuse. On the third week, they said they didn’t have the equipments to do the job and they’re ordering them. Really people? If you can’t or don’t want to do the job then SAYIT instead stringing your customer along. You are not the only locksmith in town! Oh different locksmith has taken care what need to get done.

I needed to get a motorcycle transponder key coded and cut, simple enough, right? Nope. I was told to go to their salibury store to have the key that I specially ordered online coded and cut, then was told that they didn’t have the machine. After being given the wrong directions to the portsmouth store, I got there and they did what I asked them to do for $ 55(whhich seems pricy for less than a minute of work, it was $ 10 online). I drove home and tested out the key. It fit the lock, but did not dis-arm the antitheft program(which is the point of having them code the new key for $ 50) meaning it was useless. I called back and told them it didn’t work, asking if they would fix it or give me a refund. They said it could not be fixed and that I would not get a refund for their shoddy work. DONOTGOHERE!!! So now that the court date has come and gone and the judge has made her judgement, I would like to share a story with all of you about an experience I had at my restaurant with Seacoast Lock & Safe! Last July I had to fire an employee who had keys to the restaurant. I called Seacoast Lock & Safe on a Sunday afternoon and spoke with someone about having new keys cut for 4 doors. I was quoted $ 350 for an emergency call on a Sunday or wait until the next day and pay $ 175. I opted to wait until Monday. They showed up on Monday when I was on my way out the door. I spoke with the guy briefly and showed him which doors needed to be re keyed. I also needed a new thumb turn on the kitchen door and he suggested I put one on the dining room door for fire safety reasons. I agreed and told him I left a check(blank, not knowing the cost of thumb turns) with the bartender and I left. Upon my arrival the next day I saw the check and the invoice and I was charged $ 380? I immediately called them to find out what was up with this inflated bill. After hours of rude customer service and no one giving me a straight story, I was informed that all of the Mortese cylinders were replaced because the tech thought he needed to replace all of them(without my consent) Kind of like taking your car in for an oil change and coming back to find they have put new brakes on without your consent? At this point I was told too bad and basically hung up on. I then put a stop payment on check and sent a letter(with a check for the original amount $ 175) explaining the situation and that I was more than happy to pay for the 2 thumb turns(at a reasonable price) I received a phone call from the owner stating«She was calling the police for theft of services» I then received notice they were taking me to small claims court. 1st court date was mediation that did not work. 2nd court date in front of judge. 2 months later judgement states I did not authorize them to replace cylinders so I will not have to pay for them. BUT I need to pay for the court fees $ 72 and a stop payment on check fee $ 25 ??? The whole reason I went to court was to dispute the cylinders and the judge agreed(I win in my opinion) but now I have to pay their court fees? WTF is wrong with this picture:) BOTTOMLINEISSTAYFARAWAYFROMSEACOASTLOCK&SAFE, THEYTAKEBEINGSCUMBAGSTO A WHOLENUTHERLEVEL!!! They deliberately do unnecessary work and then charge the customer whatever they want…

Sorry to hear that your business is struggling, but I’m not completely surprised. If you would like some valuable advice from someone who runs a really successful company, I would recommend that you hire some quality people who are properly trained in your field and you also definitely need to work on your customer relations. Despite the slanderous lies you have written about my behavior, the truth is that I was really patient with the kid who you sent over to try fix the lock. He was obviously in over his head and we were informed later by a real locksmith that he cut the levers too short in your mechanism. Far from being rude or demeaning to anyone, I called at least four times that day politely asking for someone to come back and fix the lock! The person answering the phone each time was in a fog and sounded confused. Where were you that day, Paul!!! In court, fending off other charges of malpractice? How do you know so much about what happened that day now, but at the time you were in hiding? They said someone was coming, then they were delayed, then they weren’t coming– it was ridiculous. Meanwhile, the main door of our business that your company had agreed to fix was unusable! What were we supposed to do, lock the door with rubber bands until you decided to address the stuation days later? I guess you think you can get away with this kind of thing and just fabricate stories about people, but I’m not going to let you get away with it.

Last week these guys re-keyed the locks in a bunch of doors for me. They showed up on time, worked quickly, didn’t make a big mess(just lots of graphite smudges on the doors), and all of the new keys worked. I’m not sure if they’re more expensive than other locksmiths or not because they were recommended by someone else in my building and I didn’t shop around. I’d use them again.
