The museum and tour are very much worth seeing. The retail store has some very good deals. Would be 5 stars but the customer service could be better. I was in the retail shop for 10 – 15 mins and the sales rep never ask if they could help. They appeared more focused on tours and answering questions on the phones.

While looking for things to do on a trip in the Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho area, I discovered the free(yes, free) Buck Knives factory tour. Being the girly, girl that I am I really didn’t know the name Buck Knives. Despite that, I am really glad that we took the time for the tour. Recommendations are recommended. They only have three tours a day(10am, noon and 2pm) Monday — Thursday. They keep the tour groups small and intimate. I believe there is an age limit, but I am not sure what it is. You are given protective ear covers and eye shields for the tour. Behind the scenes, you are able to witness every aspect of knife production from the raw materials to all the different stages of the different products they make. They give you detailed information about the history of Buck Knives and the history of their products. It really seems as if all the workers are a nice well connected crew. Communication seemed positive and the workers were keenly aware of the tour groups and made sure they were able to demonstrate materials or machines to the people on the tour. At the end of the tour, you are able to go up to the loft where the museum is hosted. Again, they review some of the history of Buck Knives and they have a wonderful array of their products over the years. Downstairs is the Buck Knives store. They host all their products for sale in the store at regular prices. There is a discount for military and police or firemen. There are a few display cases that offer great discounts on discontinued merchandise and blemished products. Most of the blemishes are minor and really are unnoticeable. This is nice if you are going to use the knife for hunting, fishing, etc, but not what you would want if you are a collector. FYI, the regular priced merchandise might be less expensive at Walmart or Cabella’s. Bucks cannot offer special pricing at their store expect for special sales, blemishes or discontinued products. One of the nice perks of being at they factory is that they will sharpen your blade for free. They are also able to repair broken products at a reasonable price. They are able to engrave your products on site as well. Important thing to note: the store is NOT open on the weekends. The only exception is their big sales which they only have around Thanksgiving and around Father’s Day.

Went here to take the factory tour since we were in the area. My brother lives close by and had never been there. He called a friend of his and stated you need to stop in there and go on that tour — interesting. His friend is also a collector of Buck Knives. There is a store so if you are interested you can purchase their products(pocket knifes, hunting /fishing /sporting knifes, cutlery along with very custom knifes) — they also have factory seconds at a slight discount. Loved the cutlery sets — but a bit out of the range I am willing to pay. They offer tours year-round, free of charge Monday through Thursday at 10:00 a.m., 12 noon, and 2:00 p.m. Tours last about 45 minutes. Fully closed shoes are a must(closed toe and heel). It is a knife factory, after all. Children seven-years-old and up are welcome. Please call ahead for a reservation, 800−326−2825 . We are located between Spokane and Coeur D’ Alene. Take I-90 to Exit 2(Pleasant View Road), go south to Lochsa, turn right and follow Lochsa to the plant. Visitor parking is available.

This place is awesome. I come to this area from California about once a year and Buck knives is the first stop. They make quality American made products that are reliable. If you haven’t taken the factory tour you are missing out. After touring the factory you will never want to own any other knives.

Got the heads up that the factory was only a few miles from my folks place so I had the Buck Knife(110) that I bought in 1975 when I was but a young US Navy sailor shipped to me from home. For $ 5 and 5 minutes of my day they sharpened, polished and oiled my knife! I don’t remember it looking this good when I first bought it. The factory store is right there so you cannot help but look at the goodies they have for sale is the store. I think I will roll in before I head home for some official Buck Knives swag and when I have some time I will take the tour… Good folks interested in quality and customers!

The tour is very interesting but time consuming so plan on a long visit. I am impressed with the commitment to quality and using as many American made products as possible. The story of the move from California is glossed over a little but I sure am glad they made the move. A great American Dream story about a dedicated family that are good to their employees and great supporters of the community. Only negative is that the fumes started triggering my asthma and I didn’t think there was any way to leave so I stuck it out and had to use my inhaler which I don’t have to do that often.

Buck Knives Inc. They make Quality Production Sporting knives. They make Fixed Blades and Folders. They also collaborate with a lot of Custom knife makers. The cool thing about Buck knives is that they carry a Lifetime Warranty. I have owned a lot of Buck Knives .When I was a Boy Scout my folks let me buy the Biggest Fixed Blade they made and when my fellow scouts saw it they all got one LOL. We were known as the Scouts that carried the Bowie’s Around LOL. I currently carry a Buck /Strider SBT Folder. I had sent it to Buck for warranty work and they took care of it Promptly and sent it back to me Razor Sharp.
