Me and my girlfriend stay here on many different occasions. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone. The only thing is that they don’t offer free breakfast. It’s in a prime location with almost anything you need food, shopping etc. The rooms are nice and clean along with the staff. All in all I recommend the courtyard marriot and will continue to book my sayings here in the future.

It’s fine. Nothing special. No free breakfast. Internet was fast enough and free. Courtyard was pretty. Ways to be better: Free stuff(cookies, coffee, breakfast, etc.)

I stayed one night on business. The hotel staff was very friendly and it appeared to be renovated recently. Unlike many hotels, they don’t offer a free breakfast but they do have a dining area where you can order food. I liked the coziness of the hotel, especially the lobby area. My room was on the 1st floor. The room was very clean, updated, and everything worked properly. I love the location of this hotel because of all the history and beauty that it is near. Here is the one problem that I had and after reading other reviews, other people had as well. The walls are very thin and you hear everything. I was trying to sleep but I heard my neighbor watching the Family Feud at midnight. I also heard other muffled conversations that he had. I love the location of this hotel but the thin walls will most likely keep me from coming back again.

This hotel is one of the nicest if not the best in the area. The rooms are clean, and updated, the lobby has also been updated. The seating area in the hotels«courtyard» is very comfortable and on a beautiful fall day worth relaxing outdoors. The staff is great. I must compliment the Manager, Laurie, her service and genuine concern to help accommodate my request was above and beyond what I have experienced in other hotels. Laurie was sensitive to the fact that there was a family emergency and I was in need of a room for a few days. If you are familiar withe the Hudson Valley you’ll know that this is prime time for leaf peeping so the hotels were completely booked. As soon as a room was cancelled I was notified and the room was held for me. I can’t thank the staff enough for their thoughtfulness. I am a Marriott Elite cardholder a member for 23 years and exclusively use Marriott brands. Again, I want to thank Laurie and her staff for going the extra mile. It was very much appreciated.

After complaining at 2AM regarding the noise in the parking lot(see my previous review), the staff upgraded us to a suite. They even sent a staff member to the room to move our suitcases. I still was not thrilled about how thin the walls were in this hotel, but I ultimately appreciated that they did their best to remedy the situation.

We used to live in Poughkeepsie, but moved back to Westchester about 2 years ago. When we’re in need of a hotel, our go to is always the Marriott since we usually are able to stay on points. We stayed again this past weekend and they were booked solid due to a wedding. I was afraid it was going to be super noisy, but I never heard a peep from anyone. I had called the week prior to see if we could be upgraded to a suite(they’ve always accommodated in the past when they have space) and was told at the present they were booked solid, but would make a notation of my request. When I checked in Saturday afternoon(they also were able to grant me the requested early check in) I discovered I was also able to get the King Suite. Front desk was very accommodating and the hotel is undergoing an extensive renovation. Our room looks like it was just done and it was pretty nice. Colors are better, new fixtures, new pillows, new linens, etc. For now I might request a room NOT facing the back parking lot as that housed a lot of the construction equipment and when I went to retrieve my car in the morning they were sawing and hammering.

I’ve stayed at a lot of Courtyard by Marriott hotels all over the US. This is probably one of the ones in the most need of an updating. It’s certainly not horrible, but there are little things that the newer courtyards have — like more outlets! The green and khaki motif is dated too, but I’d rather have a comfortable bed then a hip room with a «taco mattress». Don’t forget — all hotels look the same with your eyes closed. Would I stay here again? Given the options in the area — I’d have to really. I’m pretty sure this is as good as it gets for now in Poughkeepsie.

I have to agree with these other reviews. I’ve experienced much better Courtyard by Marriott locations. This is the worst one I’ve ever experienced. It’s definitely in need of a refresher. The rooms could be nicer. The noise is crazy. I heard a guy in the hall in the middle of the night pounding on someone’s door, let me in, let me in! I don’t know how long it took for someone to come along and tell him no one is in there. While the mattresses are okay, the pillows have seen better days and in need of replacement — and fast! Very uncomfortable and lumpy. It’s not worth the money until they hopefully get a makeover.

Nice and clean, conveniently on route 9, has a pool, coffee service in the morning, bar/starbucks in the lobby, lots of parking, friendly staff and outdoor seating by the pool.

I agree with most of the reviews by everyone. The«basic Marriott you-could-be anywhere décor and standard amenities» describe it well. Stayed with friends here and they were little copies of each other. There was a family staying next door and could hear every word they said. I don’t like having to work around other people’s schedules I don’t know. They went to bed at midnight and woke up at 7. I know because I heard them and their screaming kids. It’s a nice touch they have free wifi but it’s slow. I tested it and I got as good as a dial-up connection speed. TV’s are nice but no HD didn’t make it worth watching. It was the highest price in the area but with the reviews other places in Poughkeepsie got this is a top tier place. The beds were comfortable and the room served it’s purpose.

Sadly the week I was here the front was closed due to construction. When I tried to call the«front desk» they never answered, I litterally had to walk to there temp desk to talk to anyone. My coffee maker didn’t work and when I got a new one it was dirty! Also they had a dead bird in the courtyard for 2 days before it was removed… and with the rain it smelled terrible. Lastly my fiancée got shocked by the bike in the gym… it happened twice, it was weird. I didn’t even want to stay here but the Residence Inn down the street was fully booked. So not worth $ 149 a Night

Bring Ear plugs… they really skimped on the sound proofing at this hotel. We stopped in for one night, but that was enough-otherwise its adequete. We needed bedding for the pull out sofa and it arrived within minutes of our arrival to the room. The lobby was being re-modeled, we navigated that no problem, the breakfast was good, and the breakfast service was good. But the noise was crazy… a few guys went down the hallway at 3 bells and we heard every word they said… and when they arrived in their room which was right next door… we heard every word again, to top it off the trains run behind the hotel and we heard every car and whistle… I use Marriott to stay on the road, but next time I visit Poughkeepsie I’ll try the Residence Inn just a block away.

Stayed here last night after a nearby wedding. The room was totally acceptable, with your basic Marriott you-could-be-anywhere décor and standard amenities. We were able to check in early, thanks to friendly hotel staff. The happy couple rented a conference room for an after party, and I’ve got to give the hotel props for letting us be a bit rowdy(to put it mildly) until around 2 am.

Stayed here many times, and it’s always reliable, the staff friendly and helpful. Basic facilities(no bar, only breakfast served), but there is a pool which I’ve never had to share, plus a small gym room. Convenient for local sites and towns, with a more than decent restaurant/bar next door(The Coyote Grill, qv). Perhaps beginning to show it’s age when compared with newer motels nearby.
