When I first stumbled upon Joe gamer I was pretty excited at the prospect of a store with so many different games. When I entered the store I was amazed at the vast selection of different titles that they had to offer. I was however not incredibly in love with the prices. Most items at Joe gamer can be purchased online at a much lower price even with shipping. Despite this I found that their GameCube was slightly cheaper than others that I had seen so I purchased one with a few games. This nest part is why I decided to award Joe gamer with only one star. When I went home to test it out I found that there was a problem with the joystick(it was randomly unresponsive at times) on the controller they had given me so I promptly returned to the store to ask for a replacement. When I got there the young man behind the counter seemed disinterested and somewhat strange like he had trouble talking to customers. Despite this he gave me a new controller and sent me on my way. When I returned home I found that the wire on the new controller was coming out of the controller itself. I debated trying to fix it myself because I didn’t want to drive all the way back to the store but in the end I decided to go back and exchange it for a third time. When I got there I was met with the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I nicely explained my story to the two gentleman behind the counter and they were incredibly rude they informed me that they had tested my other controller and that there was nothing wrong with it. When I explained to them that the problem occurred randomly while I was playing they reiterated that it was fine. After they essentially called me a liar they then refused to even look at the other broken controller and would not allow me to exchange it. To top it all off when I asked to speak to a manager they refused and said that there was no manager there today. In conclusion Joe Gamer has a great selection of many different games but due to there high prices and horrible customer service I would recommend anyone thinking of shopping here should turn around and go elsewhere.

Évaluation du lieu : 2 Poughkeepsie, NY
I was excited to head to this local gaming store. I’ve driven past it for almost a year and was really looking forward to possibly picking up a retro-system here. I entered the store and the items were abundant and presented in a very attractive manner. I was looking for a Dreamcast. When I saw one sitting in the display case I was a little shocked by the price. It wasn’t insane, but it was a slight bit more than I was willing to pay and I knew I could get it for at least $ 15 to $ 20 cheaper bundled with more controllers and memory packs. I stated to the clerk that I felt the price of the Dreamcast was a but steep to which he stated, «We are a store. We do have rent to pay.» This left me a little cold. I’m an adult, I understand he financial obligations owning a business entails in this day and age. I was expected the clerk to possibly haggle even the slightest, but no he was completely disinterested. I have frequented a few locally owned video game stores in NYC where negotiation is often welcome… well not here. On my way out I perused the various other items. I was shocked to see NES and SNES games marked anywhere from $ 20 to $ 30 more than what they can be found on EBay for; and yes, I get it, you have to pay rent. But you decided to open a store that must compete with online retail. I was astounded. Maybe the store caters to someone who’s gone on a weekend nostalgia bender and absolutely must have these items on this day. Perhaps I’m more savvy than most but wouldn’t you be open to negotiating the price even the slightest? Many used XBOx One games were marked for higher prices than what they can be purchased for on Amazon. I’m not talking a dollar either. I’m talking $ 10-$ 15 more. The store also had a very funky smell to it not that that even matters but hey you’re going to be shopping there so make what you will of that. I really hate to write a take down of a local business but based on: the completely unfriendly sales clerk, apparent unwillingness to negotiate on price, and the absurd(and I mean just ridiculous) prices when compared to online retail, I’d say pass this place up for more friendly and price competitive locations.
