The eel avocado roll and dynamite roll were good, although they came in small portions.

Chloe, Thank you. ICHIBAN is a family affair. Chloe along with her FANTASTIC staff and family are fantastic. Friday night, last night, Ichiban was busy and we loved it all. The sushi chef surprised us with avacado stuffed w crab and it was AMAZING. Our sashimi dishes were, ASALWAYS, fresh, delicious and BEAUTIFULLYPRESENTED. Tuna toro, salmon, stripe bass, fluke, uni w quail eggs, salmon roe, sweet shrimp, Wasabi tobiko. CHECKOUTMYPICS … Trust me we eat SUSHI alot in NYC and ICHIBAN is 5 Stars with EVERYTHING … Thanks again Chloe … see you all soon …

I’ve been going to ichiban for over 10 years. The food is always amazing and consistent. I highly recommend to everyone. The sushi party trays are great to bring to a party.

The food is a little overpriced here. The waitresses are super friendly, and the service is quick. You get complimentary edamame. I got the maki combo with salmon avocado, yellowtail scallion, and tuna cucumber rolls. Plating is gorgeous. There’s nothing wrong with Ichiban, but I prefer Bonsai for sushi and Japanese.

I ate last night at Ichiban for the first time. After living in Manhattan for years I got spoiled with some of the best sushi. Thank god I finally found ichiban. The food was excellent. Both fresh and beautifully presented. My server was even prettier than the sushi as well as friendly and very competent. I recommend this restaurant highly and will definitely be back again and again.

One of the best sushi restaurants in the area; if not the best. The wait staff is always very friendly, and service fast. Small dining room but it’s worth the wait if there is one; they also have take-out. This is a regular spot for me, wouldn’t go much anywhere else. I only gave 4⁄5 stars because they took the tapioca out of the bubble tea, it’s not the same. =(

My favorite sushi place in town. Everything is always fresh and service is quick. Staff is incredibly friendly. I love that they are always willing to try out new recipes, the chance to try new dishes is always appreciated. The owner Chloe is so personable and genuinely cares about her customers which is not something you usually see in a restaurant. Never had a bad experience here!

Favorite place for sushi in Poughkeepsie. My family has been going there for at least 10 years. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. The family that owns the restaurant is so sweet and is a pleasure to see. The restaurant is a bit small but that’s what makes it so cozy and intimate. The miso soup and salad is great will all the meals. Will be using this place for takeout and sit down meals in the future.

One of my favorites for sushi. The owner is always there and the food is consistently good quality. The prices are the only reason I am not giving 5 star. The price here is higher than most in the area and more equivalent to NYC, but it doesn’t ago me from returning for a rare treat.

Best sushi around. Never had a bad experience here. They have the all you can eat sushi for only $ 30 or all you can eat and drink for $ 50. It’s a hole in the wall.

Best sushi in New York IMHO. Staff is so friendly and the owner is so nice. Every dish is great and the all you can eat sushi is such a great value. Super clean and the fish is so fresh. One of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley.

The place is small and cramped. You would think having so few tables, the service would be good. Not the case. Slow and inconsiderate to say the least. Bubble tea was watered down and had no tapioca pearls. You would like to think the waitress would mention it instead of serving a bubble tea without the bubbles. The food was all brought at once instead of bringing the appetizer first. Overall, poor experience. On top of everything. The owner is just as inconsiderate as the staff. It’s no wonder the place looks like it is on the verge of going out of business. Note to owner and staff Without your customers, there is no business.

Random stop in while my grandpa plays pool league at the bar next door. Unexpectedly fresh and delicious. NICE!

Boy, I am sorry to have to do this — but the past few trips to Ichiban have been borderline dreadful. Not too long ago they shifted to an AYCE option, and since doing so the food quality has suffered significantly. I think I’ve made my last trip to Ichiban. Really disappointed.

Excellent service. Extensive menu of sushi rolls, many are quite creative and yummy. My favorites are the comet, Manhattan and the Pleasant Valley. Very nice presentation. My significant other and I love a lot of sushi, so the all you can eat option is fantastic. Most of the time they have uni and it is always very good. If you are an uni fan, you know that many places shy away from carrying uni and that it is easy for uni to go bad. So finding a place with good and reliable uni is a treat. My only criticism is the tight quarters. But I am willing to put up with that for the food and service and the fact that it might lose some of its charm if it moved to more spacious accommodations.

Fantastic sushi — best we’ve found in the Hudson Valley. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Don’t let the strip mall location keep you away.

I lived in Lagrange and my girlfriend Kim and I ate at Ichiban religiously for 2 years. Sometimes 2 – 3 times a week! Chloe, the owner is wonderful and the food/sushi is always fresh as can be. My favs. on the menu were the Spicy Kani salad for starters or Rock Shrimp, Miso Soup and Bang Bang Chicken. Try the #Navy SEAL Roll, #Iron Man Roll or the #Lagrange Roll and Monster. I will miss this place and don’t think I will find another as good. Thank you Chloe.

After checking Unilocal reviews, we went from Hopewell Junction to Poughkeepsie and searched for this place. 20 minutes of being lost was well worth the trip. I am a picky eater from Connecticut. I adore sashimi. Our Waitress Julie was fantastic. I sat down and she brings over complimentary Edamame. We ordered the Love Boat for two, and they made the accommodations for my allergy. Chloe, the manager, helped us pick out Sake and with ordering some new things. Overall, the experience was perfect! The fish is unbelievably fresh and has a wonderful presentation. Chloe even gave us a complimentary bottle of Sake because we told her of our difficult time finding the place. The sushi guys were very nice, the service was quick and respectful, and the establishment is very clean. Do not be fooled by the outside(strip mall) appearance. It was fantastic and a must try, hidden gem or Poughkeepsie.

Really great place with wonderfully fresh raw fish and inventive rolls. The owner is very nice. I came from Yonkers because I friend recoomended it and wanted to take me there and it was worth the hour drive in rain to get a fantastic array of raw/cooked dishes. favorites were the lobster sashimi(which you would have to special order a few days in advance), salmon belly, and uni shots.
