I have never been to a deli where they messed up orders so frequently! Last time I was there I even made the clerk write my order down because they usually don’t and it still came out wrong… I will not be wasting my money here any longer. I suggest trying to Redfox eatery right around the corner. Nice staff and order always comes out right.

Got three slices of roast beef in a $ 6.99 sandwich on a hard roll. Used to be good but I won’t ever come back. Plus my stomach started making a rumbling noise 15 minutes later.

great sandwiches and salads. it’s always pretty busy around lunch time and service can be a little slow, but that is expected. make sure to try the Cubano sandwich; delicious!

This is a great little deli on the north side of Poughkeepsie. I try to stop in when I can. The food is really good and there is seating in the back.

Update: Went in for a sandwich a few weeks ago on a week night. 3 people working: one working register, one making sandwiches and one just hanging out. Took over 15 minutes to get one sandwich(not even a hot sandwich!), someone that came after me(known by name to the staff) got his food before me. Sooooo frustrating, need to find a new deli!

The only thing I ever purchase from this deli are sliced cold cuts to go. I tell the employees all the time to cut it on the thicker side so that I am able to pull it apart to make my own sandwiches, but apparently they don’t listen. I mean, when I come home and attempt to make a sandwich, my turkey is in a big ball! Not even in slices! And another thing I do not like is how my cold cuts have other unknown cold cuts pieces on them. My cheese is always so dirty with other meats on them. That is disgusting. The owner should tell the employees to be more sanitary and get a cutter just for cheese.

I had to respond after reading all the reviews, and reading a recurring theme, the service in here is rather incompetent. The guys behind the grill are a mess(except that hard working woman) and cannot do anything near multitasking, which is very important in any situation especially processing multiple orders. Another fact is that a good cook MAKES a good place. You can have all the specialties you want on the shelf, but people ordering food is what makes it, and if you are going to have slightly more expensive food, you need to pay the cook more than minimum wage. The carry out food is in an atrocious state when you finally eat it, and generally you better be able to rearrange your sandwich! They dump everything in the bag SIDEWAYS, and that’s AFTER the cook that does not know how to cut a sandwich destroys it. You get a bag of heaping mess. Another thing. Who are the old guys with the earrings that can hardly think straight!!! Yesterday, again, one of them took my money and left my food sitting there, going on to the next customer. I looked at him, then bagged everything and thanked him for letting me do his job. It didn’t faze him. So I would recommend this place for dire emergencies or breakfast or after drinking a lot. But if enough words made it through, and with some attitude changes, this place could be very nice.

Food is good but service is terrible. Their system of ordering food is broken. Twice I’ve placed an order that never came out. Should have just gone to McDonalds.

Although their prices are a bit high, I’m a fan of this deli. They carry Boar’s Head products, lots of snacks and beverages. and even have a small grocery area and gift shop. The sandwiches are big and tasty, and they serve a good selection of salads, wraps, and specialty sandwiches. They also have a breakfast menu. I would say that one of the drawbacks of K & D is that with it being so popular you’ll have long wait for your meal if you go at a «normal» eating hour. This is especially true when Marist College(located right across the street) is in session. Just keep that in mind if you are rush. I absolutely recommend K & D if you are looking for a delicious deli sandwich.

We like this Deli, always very clean, lots to offer, but… we came in yesterday, early afternoon, way after lunch rush, we were the only sandwich order they had, and made mistakes on both, the person who took the order, repeated the order verbally, wrote it down and still made mistakes on both, mine did not get the tomatoes I asked for, and my wife’s sandwich got also ham that we never asked for. So, come on guys, get your act together, it’s simple, especially when we were the only ones with sandwich orders, around 2:30PM.

K & D is at a great location which most likely attributes to their success. The service is slow and often not friendly. They have a wide variety of deli options and grocery but edge on the expensive side. I recommend the Magic Garden sandwich, grilled marinated veggies and provolone, on sourdough as it has become my regular order. Best not to go around lunch time because you’ll wait close to half an hour with a bunch of college kids.

Been going here for the past 6 years and it is always kind of hit or miss. More hits though than misses. Prices are a bit high(probably because of the College nearby) and the staff can be cold as the tundra on occasion — staff seems to turn over a lot as well –Which is bad when they finally get some good deli workers.

Eh, I kinda feel like this is an over priced deli(probably because of Marist). The sandwiches are decent but I’ve definitely had much better and at a lower price. I think what really put a bad taste in my mouth was the service, the kid making the sandwiches was slow and would not stop talking to the other people working. It was lunchtime on a saturday but it really wasn’t too crowded, I expect it to be slow at lunchtime of course but on a weekend it wasn’t too crazy. 15 mins for 2 sandwiches seems like a long time to me. But hey, just my opinion. =)

Been going here for years, both the Marist college & Salt Pt Tnpk locations. Both places have fast & courteous service — if the Marist location is busy during lunch you’ll wait a few more mins but not nearly as long as you’d think.

Great local sandwich spot. the prices are higher then local competitors, but your paying for quality. The service is timely and polite. the food itself is nicely prepared and tasty. I recommend buffalo chicken sandwich or the Philly cheese steak, or your own version of the meat lovers/cardiac arrest sandwich. Its a great local spot that is def a fan fav for struggling college students. Day old bread for $ 0.50 is awesome. Plus you can get nyc newspapers here.
