It’s not my go-to shopping spot because it is a bit more expensive than a few other natural food stores in the area, but that said it’s a clean store with lots of good quality natural and organic items. Staff is friendly and always ask if they can help you find things. I like that they have supplements, food, coffee, and even their own café and baked goods. The bulk section is full of organic beans, rice, nuts, granola, seeds etc. They have things on sale sometimes and I recently got a $ 10 coupon in the mail to use as a rewards member — so remember to sign up! The only issue I have is not everything is always marked, which makes it more time consuming for me to shop as I have to track down the prices.

A large, well-stocked, clean if not inexpensive health food store. Of particular note is the bakery and deli. Many fantastic things to nibble here from sweet to savory. On the shelves there is most anything you could want as far as health/specialty/vegetarian-vegan items are concerned; this is a good place to find that unusual thing you are looking for to put in a recipe. There is also a quite extensive vitamin and supplement section as well as excellent produce and bulk foods.

My original review still stands, but I would like to add an important tidbit of information. This location is the only one I’m aware of in the area that has nontoxic nail polish! I wanted to paint my nails when I was preggo but I didn’t want to inhale those chemicals. Their makeup section is small but has a lot of great nontoxic options. Go Mother earth!

I was disappointed that the Mother Earth store in Hyde Park closed a few years ago. It was small, and its inventory was a bit inconsistent, but it was convenient. But it made good business sense to close it and consolidate/expand the Mother Earth in Poughkeepsie — and then some! It always has a well-stocked set of fruits and vegetables, dairy, and an expanded frozen foods section. I have to restrain myself from grinding my own peanut butter every time I’m there. The biggest plus for me was their expanded vitamins and minerals department. You can find some packaged non-organic items, such as chips, oils, and cereals, cheaper at other stores, but if you’re looking to minimize your driving, this is a good one-stop store. Be sure to take advantage of their rewards program too.

a wonderful health food store. Next Organics Dark Chocolate Cherries are an amazing find, as is this grocery store.

Mother Earth is a great little market that offers unprocessed foods and fresh produce. They have a bulk section with a variety of dried goods so you can get just the right amount to meet your needs. The baked goods are made with natural colorings such as Kale for green, Blueberries for blue and Beet juice for red. They make a variety of vegan and vegetarian baked goods on top of their other selections. The only thing I can sort of find fault with is they are a little pricey but that comes with the territory of a small business like Mother Earth’s.

Mother Earth’s is a great way to support local business and nourish yourself with outstanding unprocessed food at the same time. I loovvee their bulk items, can try a little of everything, and short of going to that megabox WF in Westchester, I do not know of any other DIY bulk options and I would much prefer to shop local independent retailers. The produce, packaged goods and vitamin selection are excellent, the sales staff friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are decent considering they cannot buy in quantities. The prepared foods section features lots of veggie/vegie offerings which are tasty and delicious!!! And try their Mocha Madness mixed goodies from the bulk section. My hubby loves it! YUM!

Excellent store. Like Olga D, I think their dried fruits set them apart from another competitor in the area, the otherwise excellent Beacon Natural Market. I get the goji berries regularly. Staff is pleasant. Prices can run high but nothing out of the ordinary for a health food store.

Favorite Health Food Store. Their dried fruts are the real steal. you can get some amazingly good rasins and dried apricots very cheap. Lately love bying Izze’s natural drinks there and brown cow yogurts.(coffee flavor with cream on the top … mmmmmmm) sometimes you can find an «unusual» dark chocolates in there… Good selection of fruits and breads as well. Shopping there regularly.
