I went to dinner at Café Jacamoe for the first time with my friend after work and ordered the Jacamoe crab Louie-ette. It was a refreshing salad with a delicious house made dressing. I went in again with my mom a couple weeks later and ordered a St. Charles cocktail, which is now my new favorite drink! It’s like a gin and tonic and a little more pizzazz. I had étouffée for dinner and it was so tasty, I ate it all! A couple of my coworkers and I stopped by to have a drink at after a long day and we’re pleasantly surprised to hear live music from a Latin Jazz band called Malo Combo. Their music was so catchy, I couldn’t help but dance :) Café Jacamoe has become my favorite place to unwind after work. The atmosphere is so relaxing and cozy. The servers are very knowledgeable and the service is quick! I recently tried the French 75 cocktail and am now torn on which to call my favorite! I heard a handful of people raving about the The BBQ shrimp bowl so I had to give it a try for myself. Amazing! Definitely my favorite of the entrees I’ve tried so far. I look forward to trying many more :)

On a rainy evening after all the shops in downtown Poulsbo had closed, my girlfriend and I decided to try something new and head to this revamped spot. The interior is much fresher, but I still feel like it could be lightened up a little. It still feels a bit dark and divey. That said, the service was friendly and prompt, our cocktails were delicious(um, yum, Gin Fizz) and our meals were above par. I adored my Cajun Mac & Cheese with Blackened Chicken. The cheese sauce was tangy and flavorful and the blackened seasoning added a nice to heat to the dish. My friend ordered a bowl of the Gumbo and a small salad. I thought the Gumbo was just alright. It was missing depth… I couldn’t put my finger on it… Just something missing. The texture was lovely though, and the big chunks of seafood were nice to bite into. I think I’ll drag a few others to this nearby spot to try their Barbecue Shrimp bowl and hush puppies in the near future.

A new amazing go-to place in Poulsbo that we will become regulars! Service was spectacular, friendly and very knowledgeable. She was attentive without hovering and all of our needs and questions were met with smiles. There were 5 of us and we each ordered and sampled different entrees. The boudine meatballs were tender and packed with flavor with a perfect crispy shell, the mufaletta was recommended and was amazing, the BBQ shrimp was straight from New Orleans, the shrimp étouffée was tender and seasoned with expertise and the catfish, oh the wonderful catfish, was fresh and sweet and flaky with a thin crispy crust! Can’t wait to try the jumbalaya! The drinks were unique and very well crafted. Can’t wait to try more of them! The menu selections are straight from Bourbon Street without deviating to burgers, fries and other non-Cajun items. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back!
