It was a great experience to be at Back East Bakery. Is a small family manage restaurant that serves delicious food!!! The owners are amazing, they make you feel at home.

It’s amazing being able to get Colombian baked goods and pastries whenever I crave them(all the time.)

This place just reopened as a Colombian bakery — they have delicious croissants and meat/veggie pies(not the sweet kind — but New Zealand/Australia style), good coffee for $ 1, and delicious Colombian cookies. Definitely recommend this place! :)

We were looking for a bakery that make gourmet hoagie style buns or mini loaves. We checked in Unilocal for a bakery nearby. We were surprised that they just opened. They’re new in business. They gave me sampling of their pastries. I don’t remember what they were called, one look like jelly roll but sliced, topped with whipped swirled cream and Napoleon. We also tried their sampling of pan de queso. They were so good. They didn’t have what we were looking for but we bought one of each that we had a sampling of. Very rich. I only could eat ¼ of it.

Called multiple times mid-morning(10:30am) on a Wednesday, with no answer. Apparently they are closed for business. I’m guessing it was their poor customer service that did them in. That’s a shame because that’s something that’s easy to fix!

First-time customer. Went in this morning at 10:15am and it was empty with no bagels. I asked if they were open and they said«The bagel storefront is closed.» Does that mean they’re out of bagels? Or they don’t sell bagels anymore? I’m confused. Picked up a burger at In-N-Out across the street instead :(

Its hard to like this place because customer service is so poor. Ordered a Classic BLT and it came with Onions & no Mayo(classic in lettuce, tomato, bacon, & mayo) Who would put onions on a Classic BLT? Returned a 2nd time a few days later with same order and after requesting white bread and a wait of 5 minutes they then informed me they had no white bread instead of telling me when i ordered. Will gladly take my business else where as this is a poorly run business.

Quite possibly the BEST coffee around. $ 1/16oz cup AND pair that with friendly staff and owners? So nice to have a business take the time to talk to you while you wait. My son and I have a standing breakfast date there every Tuesday and have since the beginning of the school year. As regulars, they know what our«usual» is(for my son, omelette with sausage on a spinach bagel; Salmon on a spinach bagel for me) and the food is made fresh, with great quality, every single time!!! Can’t wait to try the delicacies they have in their food truck!

I hate to burst everyone’s bubble here, but is anyone who has reviewed this actually had a legit bagel or egg sandwich at a real deli in NY or NJ? Probably not if you’re giving it 5 stars. Ok here’s the breakdown, I asked for a «BEC», owner didn’t know what it was. First sign this place isn’t real east coast. Here’s my review of the BEC: Bagel: 2 stars. A little dry, taste was mediocre. Bacon: –1 star(yea negative) it was f’n awful. Smelled terrible, was greasy, tasted like motor oil, and has now made me nauseous. Egg: 3 stars — I’m just happy they didn’t microwave the egg, but in terms of an «east coast» sandwich it was just decent. Eggs could have been softer, more yolky, less over cooked.

Variety of foods, breakfast sandwiches. Luch sandwiches(highly recommend the Turkey California), salads, a few side ideams, and drinks. There bagels look amazing and have different spreads for them, havent personally got to try one but they look great. Clean, and very friendly staff.

I’m so glad I discovered this bagel shop! It’s a small place with really good bagels, muffins and coffee!!! I got to meet the owner the day I visited and she told me they moved to this new location because there’s more kitchen space for her to bake the bagels! No wonder the food tasted so good — it’s all fresh made right there at the shop! Loved it!!!

I really like this spot. Totally unpretentious and clearly all about the food. I’ve been here several times and their baked goods are totally delicious and high– quality. If you work up on that infamous hill by Costco, I totally recommend it for lunch.

I like finding these little family run places hidden away in business parks around San Diego. This particular one specializes in East Coast bagels and making you happy that you came by to visit them. Although, the 16 oz coffee for only $ 1 with self refills is not to shabby. I ordered the smoked salmon on a honey oat bagel or lox with one of those $ 1 coffees. The serve it like a sandwich and not open faced as traditionally done, but that did not deter from its great flavor. The smoked salmon was of of very good quality. It had a very good natural smoke flavor, just enough brine, and was smooth and silky. The onions and tomatoes were fresh and crispy, and the capers were aggressive and had a nice salty and mildly sour bite. The provided a very good amount of cream cheese, which was good, but the star of the show, was no doubt the silky smoked salmon. They offer few tables inside and a nice outside patio. The coffee, the 100% Colombian Supremo was very rich and smooth. It was full bodied with a very good kick. The owner is very nice and the employee I encounter had a good personality and makes a great Lox sammy.

I was in the area in a business trip and needed a place where I could get bagels and coffee for a meeting. Found this place on Unilocal and took Über over. Couldn’t have worked out better, had a great smoked salmon sandwich and got my coffee and bagels for the meeting. Bonus the place happened to be 4 minutes from my customers location!

I don’t usually give bad reviews but I came here during lunch and most of the bagel flavors I wanted were gone or they had only one. I decided to give them another chance and had a sandwich. However it was very bland and not worth what I had paid. It’s just walking distance from the office so I hope the next time I come they have more bagels and better ingredients or I can’t say I’ll ever be back.

Formally known as New York bagels this place is soooooo good. I’m hoppy with their new location and it seems like the bagels are even better then before which I wasn’t sure was even possible because they were AMAZING. I love this place so much.
