It is more the Russian style grocery market. The people working there very nice. They have a large kitchen in the back. They cook some very nice food at the deli. They have a wide selection of fish and deli meats. I like to come here after working out at anytime fitness. I get one thing that I haven’t had before maybe two things and bring it home and try it. Somethings are good somethings are not as tasty. It is a fun little place to explore. I recommend it. Be a little patient though because the ladies speak better Russian than English. I recommend it for anyone who want something a little different and a little taste of what it’s like to be in Russia.

If you have a sweet tooth like me, try their crepes/blintzes. One bite of this decadent delight changed my taste buds forever.

This place is so cozy ! I got everything I need to make my favorite Russian salad. Then I saw cake that caught my eye. Nice lady that works there said that its Sour cream cake. She gave me little piece to try and I was on cloud 9! This was to die for! Off course I bought it. If you like Eastern European cuisine — this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Do not go to this place, its a ripoff, there is North Park Produce market preatty close to this place which sells almost all produce of this place for alot less. I wouldnt be surprised if they buy all there produce there and resell it at high price.

My friend Ilona is an Armenian Russian to the core and cannot live without her smoky fish and her cold meats and sweets from old mother Russia, no matter of her 20+ years living in San Diego. And happy me, as I love food, old stores and even more interesting stories. When she invited me yesterday to tag along to Ambrosia I jumped to the passenger seat of her car! I have been numerous times looking at the window shop(as I frequently buy at the North Park Produce) but always hesitated to enter as felt a little bit intimidated(what about if I don’t like anything and end up empty handed in this small store? is the owner going to throw to my head one of those babushka woody toys?). Far from reality… since we went to the clear spirit of realizing a grocery shopping spree, my confidence level went up and I even pretended I understand my friend and the shop owner speaking in Russian. Some call it aggressive talking, I call it too lively! Ilona told me that is not precisely cheap, but you have authentic ethnic Russian stuff and everything is in small batches, so you can ensure freshness. I had the feeling of travelling back to my childhood in the 70s, as the stores were very similar back home. Love small commerce, always good to see that families still make a living out of their selling and not overpowered by costcos and alike.

I love this place! It’s not big, but has a little bit of everything you might want. Love their cheeses, cold cuts, cakes, dairy, breads, honey, jams and many different chocolates and candies that are a must try, and these are all authentic. Also, you can find different made daly deli such as(cutlets, Russian pirozhki with chicken or other feeling, they have salads, crepes(with chicken or cream cheese feeling) that are to die for, they remind me of French crepes, and many other items). Very nice stuff, very helpful and they also offer to try cold cuts if you are interested before buying. I come there at least once a week. I also used this place to cater for my husband’s birthday and a New year’s party. They know what they are doing and food is high quality and very fresh.

They have the freshest, best quality ethnic food in town. Everything we had tried so far is amazing and virtually always very fresh, which is a big issue with delis in general. We enjoyed meeting the owner who told us they also do catering. Wonderful place — be sure to stop by!

I love this place. The owner is incredibly nice and very willing to help. The deli foods are made fresh daily and the food is authentic. Obviously this is a small store, so you can’t expect to do all your shopping, but it’s a great little market for cheeses, meats, and prepared deli foods. Love!

The sign on the store says European Deli. So I guess it was my fault to assume that there would be sandwiches here. I came, and the owner came in from through a curtain from a back room. The front of the store is very small, and has Russian provisions and a small deli cabinet. It’s like the Swedish foods part of IKEA, only Russian stuff. Lady seemed confused when I asked if they had any sandwiches. Said no. I think this is more of a catering place, with a small shop up front just so you know. — There was a lot of stuff going on in the back room behind the curtain. If anything, it let my imagination run wild for a few minutes.

It’s one of the few Russian stores in this area. I go pretty often to get their cold cuts, which are delicious. There’s also a variety of Russian food: bread, pastries, sweets, honey, and many more: not a single item is cheap, but still it’s worth the feel. Also, they cook and do it pretty well — if you’re lucky to get it fresh and not a couple of days old. :) By the way, what’s worth it is their catering service. They know what they’re doing: quality Russian food, which I enjoy. They catered a bf’s birthday party, and our New Year party — it was quite nice.
