I love, love, LOVE Waffle House. We don’t have them anywhere near us so it’s a treat to stop when we are road tripping in the south. On our first southern roadtrip I got the hubby to try it and now he’s hooked.
Besides stopping for a gas this was our first real stop on our honeymoon roadtrip. It was a great place to stop because as usual everyone was friendly and the food was good. When you’re out out on the road you want something quick and good and to be back on your way. Waffle House is perfect and this location is no exception.
Plus it’s close to Knoxville without the traffic of Knoxville. We like to stop near but not in cities to avoid the heavier traffic.

What can I say? It’s a Waffle House. It was open 24hrs so it fit my late night needs. I was surprised to find that they didn’t have a chili burger. It’s a wonder why since they obviously have both. With come chagrin from my server I made one. Smothered and covered hash browns were a must to be covered in the chili along with the burger stripped of the lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. I would also recommend asking for the onions on the burger be diced if you’re into onions. Not to pat myself on the back, but my persistence in having a chili burger was well rewarded. I am awesome.
