This was a great trail(really a set of trails, extremely well-marked with great signage at every fork in the trail) to hike with our young children. Even the«moderate» portions of the trail, involving a relatively gentle climb that occasionally requires walking along granite formations, were a breeze for them, since they loved«climbing» on the rocks. Park at the Phippen Museum(4701AZ-89) to access the trailhead, which is in the lower parking area. You cross under the highway through a pedestrian tunnel and emerge at the main signage for the trail. By the way, the Phippen Museum is pretty cool if you enjoy art portraying the American West.

Great trail for hiking and mountain biking! 2.5 mile outer loop with lots of inner loops for variety. We hiked and it was easy to moderate. It looks like a tough trail for mountain biking! Great views from just about everywhere.
