Great atmosphere, best recommended Prescott venue to pop in for a quick cold one on their recently upgraded tap system, off track betting, listening to live bands or cutting a rug. Always a great time.

There was a day some time ago this city boy would kick em up at the Grizzly Rose in Denver, I think it’s cause of all the hot cowgirls. Well on a Saturday night in my pressed button down polo shirt, this guy walked into Matt’s Saloon. I forgot how much fun Country Bars can be. I had to shake out all those 80’s new wave dance moves(yeah, that shit still works even at Chars) and bring it down to a leg shuffle. Matt’s saloon has a vast crowd ranging from your typical Preskitt Cowboy, Rich Old Guy with Daughter or maybe Girlfriend?, Buzzed up City Boy(me?), Bachelorette party and an occasional recovering addict(Hey, it’s Preskitt, I’m not judging). Automatically you’ll love this place with the band set up way above the crowd and dance floor, raining down covers from Garth, Paisley and Atkins(That’s all the country singers I really know, other than my girl Shania). Drinks are relatively cheap and there wasn’t a cover charge when we arrived. Now just know, cowgirls are a bit aggressive so make sure you can turn them down softly or get ridden rough(sorry couldn’t help myself). Matt’s Saloon will be a regular stop when I go see my Dad and his 23 yr old girlfriend. JK Mom!!!

Cash only? Really? Who has cash on them these days??? Not sure if the whole place is cash only or we just happened to go up to the one bar(they have multiple) that only takes cash or what but that is really lame. Actually, I must assume that the entire place is cash only because, hopefully, once we all started searching for cash the bartender could have directed us to another area that took cards. That didn’t happen so I assume it is cash only. If not, well that leads me to my next point. The service was bad. Not fast and not friendly. The bar itself is kinda cool I guess, if you like cowboy bars. The dance floor is huge, well actually the entire place is huge. It was pretty crowded so I guess it is a popular place. I can see how it could be fun but I just had a bad experience.

I’ve been a here a couple of times and always have a good time. The drinks are quick and the music is country… most of the time. I heard Thursday night is college night with a cover and drink specials, country music til 10 then hip hop dj after. We went on a Friday night and a live band was playing country starting at 8:30. They played some newer stuff and some classic older stuff. We did some good country dancing if you’re into that. Don’t expect much more. It’s a good time country bar!

We always seem to be there in the early afternoon. We have always met friendly and usually interesting locals.

Ok… best western bar in Prescott!!! It gets packed so if you actually want a place to sit you need to get there early. They have live music, and I can not think of a time that I have been there were the band sucked. Plus they have PBR is cans so if you wanted to, you could drink for cheap. I don’t want to write to much about how awesome this place is because the more people that show up their the earlier I have to get there. Plus even though it is a great spot to dance, the floor is small enough as it is.

There is a $ 5 cover and they have overpriced drinks. $ 6.50 for a shot and $ 7.50 for crown and coke. They kick too many people out in a night, they get you super drunk but then try to kick you out for being super drunk. They aren’t very responsible. They’re are always too many people there and hot as hell.

We came here after our beers @ Raven café for some dancing. Man, these country bars are definitely something else! My moves definitely did not compete with all these people with their cowboy/girl boots & hats on lol People were twirlin’ and steppin’, laughing & dancing. I had a good time just watching all these people have a great time! Again, price of alcohol is just ridiculously cheap here. 2 beers &1 shot of tequila all for $ 14.50?! Damn. That’s just fucking unheard of in LA, man. They have a big dance floor w/a live band playing above everyone else. They have a pool table in the back, and a smoking patio behind that. What more can you ask for?

I went here with a friend and we had a blast. For a small town this place couldn’t have been more fun. I’ve been to Prescott multiple times but the first time I stepped foot in here and hear the live music and saw the crowds of people dancing, I knew I’d have a great time. Most of the pictures I’ve seen people post are doing it good justice because the place really is packed full of people dancing whenever I’ve been there. I have a friend coming into town to visit Arizona and this is definitely a place I would love to show him.

It’s a fun atmosphere here – we stopped in to take a look around and enjoy a drink even though we don’t get into country music. There is a lot of history to this place and it definitely typifies the kinds of bars you expect to find on Whiskey Row. There is a large dance floor where lots of people are having fun, and the band playing was quite good. It seems that a lot of country bands put a lot of work and energy into their stage presence, which is something a lot of bands of other genres miss. You can’t just stand up there and stare at your boots – people want to be entertained! I don’t know the name of the band, but they were entertaining. Check this place out, even if country isn’t your thing – I think you’ll have a good time.
