EMS was always my go to store for outdoorsy stuff. And my loved ones frequented this location as well.(to be accurate the location changed a few times, this one being the biggest) But things changed several years ago when internet shopping became widespread. Another company with an acronym for a name caught my eye, and I admit I drifted apart from old faithful.
So visiting this new location was an experience for me, and a good one at that. With the larger size comes a much better selection. I was happy to see that some of my favorite brands can be found here now. As it is getting close to Black Friday, many sales and promotions were vying for the consumers dollars. And the marketing worked, I was looking for a gift for someone but ended up buying for myself. But I have no remorse, I actually feel like I was a savvy shopper. My go-​to store for almost all my outdoor needs. Their awesome staff, all of whom are active, avid outdoors people, are super-​helpful. They patiently answer all my questions and are great at guiding me to things best suited to my needs. The only other stores in the franchise with a similar level of service are the Soho and Harvard Square stores.
Since it’s one of the smaller EMS stores, selection is often limited by space constraints. They will, however, ship items from another store at no cost if they don’t have it in the right color/​size, etc. With the MarketFair Mall renovation, EMS will be moving into a larger space (the old Barnes & Nobles space), and their selection and variety will be substantially greater. Really looking forward to it!

their collection wasn’t that big. they only carry mostly EMS and the north face. but i couldn’t seem to find jackets my size (small).
