Great place, fixed my hair great after a previous stylist gravely messed up my hair. Mike never fails to impress. I recommend him greatly for more specific haircuts like if you want a line or have short hair.

Mike is awesome and your best option in Princeton by a long shot. As others note his shop is very comfortable and inviting even if you need to wait for 15 mins on a busy weekend. Mike also does a great job with kids, setting them at ease. My boy hated the barber till we came here and Mike gave him a Yankees baseball card. He was hooked and happily comes now. If you can get Summerly she does a great job on young girls and is a steal at 22 bucks. Call ahead to find her schedule.

Tony did exactly what I asked him to efficiently and professionally. Also a very nice guy. The shop is in a very comfortable setting. There are a few options in Princeton but I’d recommend this one.

It’s always hard to find a good barber to cut Asian hair since moving to NJ. Mike, Chris has been a pleasure to go to. They are friendly and always does a great job. They even do your neckline with hot shaving cream and straight razor. Only docked a star because I feel that children should be paying children’s fare and not full adult price.

I was in Princeton for some shopping and decided to give Mike’s a shot after seeing how long my hair was in a shop mirror. Mike’s was very inviting and offered up an espresso as soon as I walked in. Chris did a great job cutting my hair and was also very friendly. Overall good experience and I’ll definitely be back. $ 22 is a bit more than I usually pay but it was worth it

This place is tucked away inside a little outdoor atrium by Tico’s Juice Bar. There’s a barber pole in the corner that tells you where the door is, and it opens onto a surprisingly spacious shop. They do a good job, and haircuts include a free neck shave. My haircut was $ 22, which is a bit steep, but seems to be par for the course for barbers downtown.

When you walk into this welcoming, laid back barber shop you are greeted with donuts and an espresso. For me, that just rocked! There were only two barbers and a few people waiting when i arrived. I was most amazed by how they treated each person as though they were the only person in the shop. Somehow with this level of attentiveness, they still moved swiftly and kept the wait time reasonable. Most importantly, they did a great job on my noble and partially balding crown. They informed me that they cut kids hair also… with all the goodies(lollipops, gum, SI swimsuit edition), I can see they are well prepared for families. This is going to be my new spot for my bald spot going forward.

I asked them to trim it, but keep it long, and they cut my hair way too short. To be fair, I probably should have been more descriptive with what I wanted, but I wonder if Barber Shops even know how to do anything aside from a generic short haircut. They didn’t do a bad job, but I wasn’t satisfied, and will go to a unisex salon next time.

After the Rialto(next to the Annex) closed back in the late 90’s I thought the days of the Barber [Shop] in the true sense of the word was like so many trades, a dying breed. I’m talking about the leather strap for the straight razor, the hot lather, the straight razor neck shave and the commraderie that came with the haircut. When I was a kid my uncle would pick me up once every month and it was our time. He knew everybody’s name and they his(and mine) and I marveled at the world that existed behind that spiraling red white and blue beacon for barbers. Back then, you could cut the smoke with a knife and a stand-up ashtray complemented each chair while you waited. Many a Playboy were covered with Time magazine sure that you had the guys fooled. In hind sight, they knew just what was going on. I even learned barber shop etiquette(that it’s OK if you prefer one guy/or gals cut and you can wait for them even if the other guy’s free.) In any case Mike has bought back that old school charm. His haircut is more than that, he has stirred up memories from my youth that I thought would never be duplicated. At Mike’s todays kids have the same experience I did – a trip to the barber shop is an anticipated outing. And for this adult it still is too. Don’t foget your gum or lollipop on the way out! If your real lucky ask for something from the fridge!

Exactly what I look for in a barbershop. They do a very good job with the cut. I’ve used two barbers their and both were very good. The wait is reasonable, Hours are very good. Price is right. People and environment is pleasant.

Easily the best in Princeton, which unfortunately doesn’t say much considering how lousy most of the competition is. Had a few cuts here, always solid, never great. I guess the cost of a haircut in Princeton is what it is, but it still drives me nuts that I could get a great cut and shave at my old barbershop in Brooklyn for 15 bucks. Oh well. Mike does a good job, if you must get a haircut in Princeton, do it here.

I went to Mike’s after getting butchered at another barber shop. The woman who cut my hair at Mike’s did a remarkable job of making me look presentable again. She said she wanted to do a good job because«the way you look is a reflection upon me» and I’m confident she wasn’t just saying that. Mike’s is easily the best barber shop in Princeton.

This place is awesome! Everyone is friendly and I love the ambiance. Lots of sports stuff, and flat screen TVs everywhere make it unique. Mike is the first chair on the left.
