I’m conflicted on Rice Pot. The food is good. I’ve never had a poor meal here. However, the service really needs to be improved. If I was take-out I guess I would rate four stars. But we typically eat-in and in general the staff is not focused on a great customer experience in any area — ever. Their biggest bonus is the lack of competition. If a competitor opens up nearby with better service it will hurt…

Moved to Texas from California a few weeks ago, so the first thing we look for is Chinese food:) When we ran into this place, we immediately tried it. As much as possible, I do not want to review this place right away because I really do not want it to be a negative one, but the owner should know from a customers perspective. Since I have tried this place over 4 times, here is my review and seriously the owner should take a look into this and make changes because they are not the only Chinese food around and with Prosper growing so quickly, there will be other food chains coming in. Customer service — you will get good service depending on who helps you. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Immediately, before you can take a look at the menu they asked for your order. Please, give us a minute to look at your menu first. We don’t walk in knowing what to order :) Another time we can in, it was around 4pm asked about the lunch menu. The person who helped us didn’t know what I was talking about. Maybe because its no longer lunch. lol Another time we came in no realizing its way after their lunch special but we asked if its still lunch special. Of course they said its no longer available but the young girl, owners daughter started talking to another, looked at us then laughed, I’m assuming because we asked for a lunch special. Anyways, you should not make customers feel stupid ;) Owner yells at customers… maybe its just how she talks but she was talking down to someone she thinks is below her level. Guess what? The positive thing is that, Aiya Chinese food is just around the corner ;)

So glad they were open to deliver a little later than the pizza joints. I ordered honey sesame with steamed rice… I enjoyed it! I sung praises. But please do not Get the orange chicken… I don’t know about that recipe. But overall, I was pleasantly surprised, fast delivery and polite.

This place is ok for fast Chinese food in Prosper. However, a little pricey for Chinese take-out… They usually have young high school kids working so pay attention to your order to ensure that they get your info correct. Hot and Sour soup is very good though!!!

Food is good for takeout. Service isn’t great and the environment if you decide to eat onsite is worse.

I actually stopped eating my food from this restaurant to write my review; and when I say that, I do not mean in a good way. And giving them one star is a stretch. Trust me. I stopped by after work on the 4th of July(yes, I had to work… don’t judge me LOL) and was not in the mood to cook anything, so I wanted to stop by this restaurant to give them a try. I had received flyers from them in the mail on weekly/bi-weekly basis, so since I was in the mood for something like this, I decided to give it a try. So here is my overall review of this establishment: I HATEDIT. I walked in the door, and all of the employees were sitting in the dining area watching tv. This did not bother me because I know that most restaurants(especially on holidays) tend to be very slow business-wise. As I’m walking in the door, a young woman walked up to the counter. I told her that I needed a few moments to look over the menu. After about 30 seconds or so, I placed my order. I opted for the Shrimp Fried Rice and Fried Dumplings. The young woman takes my credit card to swipe, hands it back to me, hands me a receipt and just walks away. I kinda got he vibe that she did not want to be there. A few mins later, my food was ready. I got home, took my food out of the bag and was eager to eat since I was very hungry. Now on to the food: The first thing that I opened was the fried dumplings. Now, when someone orders fried dumplings, you would think that the dumplings would be crispy, right!!! NOT!!! The dumplings looked like they had been fried for less than 30 seconds. Actually, they were still rubbery as if I were eating steamed dumplings. The taste of the dumplings were OKAY but nothing to brag about. Next I had a FEWBITES of the shrimp fried rice. It tasted horrible!!! The rice tasted very undercooked, as well as the shrimp. I spent a total of $ 16 bucks and some change; very little of it was eaten, the majority of it went down my garbage disposal. So at the end of the day, the food was horrible, and I lost $ 16 dollars. I will not be going back. I will just continue to drive across town to my favorite chinese spot when I’m really in the mood for something like this. Rice Pot Express will never get another dime out of me. Sorry. Not Impressed.

Service here has gotten progressively worse over the past year or so. I believe today will be our last visit. The mgr/owner has been rude to our family more times than not and today we have decided enough is enough. When a customer asks a question, it os customary to respond politely and look at the person when answering instead of grunting… no…and not even looking at the person asking the question. Today reminded me of the Soup Nazi episode from Seinfeld. Food is decent. It is one of the only non-pizza restaurants in the area, which is why we have returned.

The delivery was very fast and the food was hot. The steamed dumplings, sesame chicken, and orange peel chicken were all excellent. Great Chinese delivery.

My family and I frequent this place because the food is consistently good and everyone finds something on the menu they like. The delivery service is great… the food is always piping hot when we get it. I really like the Hot and Sour Soup & the Hunan Chicken. My kids love the chicken fried rice. Great family meal!

There is nothing fancy about this place, but it’s not bad either. We get delivery from them every couple of weeks when we don’t feel like cooking or I didn’t have time to stop at Tasty Garden in Frisco, they are consistently on time and usually pretty friendly. Hot and Sour soup is usually my fav but I do not like theirs at all, but I really like their chicken wonton soup.

Chinese Delivery to Frisco. I called up this place for delivery on a lazy Sunday afternoon after hearing from some neighbors that they delivery to our area and are yummy. It was mid-afternoon and they quoted me for 45 minutes delivery. I wasn’t watching the clock but would say that they were just about on time with that. There is a $ 15 minimum order requirement for delivery. They give you large portions that make enough for sharing or multiple meals. I ordered the dumplings, pan fried which I was disappointed in being more soggy than crisp, but that could be due to the delivery. I should have ordered steamed(for multiple reasons) but may try the pan fried if I ever dine in. Otherwise, they are great and they give you 8 of them for $ 5. I also ordered the String Bean with Beef and the fried rice. I had heard that they do not put any extras(veggies) in their rice, just fried egg. I felt that the rice was lacking severely in the flavor department, so definitely don’t expect anything spectacular here. The dish itself had a great flavor and was savory. Lots of green beans and a fair portion of the meat as well. It’s very thinly sliced beef. They included a complimentary spring roll, and of course a fortune cookie. Overall, I’d order here again, but would stick to plain steamed rice or a noodle dish next time.

Everything I’ve tried has been served piping hot and very tasty. This isn’t fancy sit down asian food, but for the price, speed, and convenience I’m an enthusiastic two thumbs up!

We routinely order from these folks on Fridays when I’m in no mood to cook and a post work martini awaits. Their delivery charge is way reasonable, and the food is good if you know what to order. The Giant’s latest fav is teriyaki chicken which is really healthy: steamed veg, grilled chicken and sauce on the side. The only thing is that the total cost can get up there if you get extras like brown rice($ 1 extra) and another two ounces of sauce($ 1 extra). I mean, who eats white rice anymore?

Shockingly delicious take out! My mother in law suggested we order delivery from this place, and I was largely skeptical: small town Chinese food is typically flavorless, greasy and not fresh. Also, I was forlornly missing the amazing authentic Chinese food I’d had while living in Seattle last year. But to be accommodating, I called in our order. The workers on the phone were VERY nice and the delivery guy was too. The food arrived perfectly hot and exactly as we ordered it. But my biggest surprise was tasting it– wow! My General Tso’s chicken was some of the best I’d ever had. The vegetables were very fresh and crisp, and the sauces were full of flavor. The rice was perfect too. Couldn’t have been more surprised and pleased. Writing this review makes me crave the General Tso’s chicken now…

Pretty decent price. 3 entrees(which lasted for 2 meals) + 3 boxes fried rice(disappointing rice) + 3 egg rolls(delicious) = $ 25 I recommend the honey sesame chicken. It’s off the chain. Skip the sweet and sour pork.

We live in Celina, which is even further north than Prosper. Our food selection is limited so when rice pot opened up we gladly opened our wallets and could not be happier. Food is great(we have been ordering since they opened and never got sick… but we do not eat the spicy mustard either) The delivery service is out standing. I highly recommend.

I am a regular customer at Rice Pot. The service is always quick… usually 5 minutes from when I call in my pickup order. I love that my spicy dishes are actually spicy. I have always gotten prompt and friendly service as well.

We’re regulars at the Rice Pot Express since they opened their doors in Prosper. We’ve never had a bad meal there. My Son loves the edamame with sea salt. We usually get steamed dumplings as a starter, and they are equally as good to what we’ve had at P.F. Chang’s. The portions are big, and we always end up bringing home enough for someone to have a good lunch the next day.

This is an update to my review. So I went there again with some friends from work, they like it but they all got sick. They all didn’t have the same things some had chicken others had beef or seafood and one a vegetarian. The only thing they ate in common was some spicy mustard. Thank goodness I did not have any. Anyways the food is still tasty.
