Truly wonderful. I recommend this to place to everybody, as long as they have a little extra cash to spend. The location is beautiful. It’s right on the edge of the jewelry district(apparently, I’m not super familiar with this area), and it’s nestled down a little alley. You might even miss it unless you really know where to look. The interior is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Dime lighting, deep rich reds and wood. I’ll post a couple pictures, they’ll be more helpful than me talking about it. Service was 10⁄10. Everyone from the valet to the manager to the wait staff was extremely nice. Very respectful and talkative, extremely friendly. I felt at home here and I came here right from the airport… alone. They do a great job making you feel special :-) The Food was out of this world. Best calamari I’ve ever had. The smell of it was almost too much… I can’t remember the last dish I just sat and smelled. The calamari was cooked perfectly and pairing it with banana peppers gives you that ideal sweet kick. It rocked my world. I followed it up with the lobster casserole… again. blew my mind. The scallions that topped it were the best I’ve ever had, the cream sauce and the breading in the casserole did not overpower the natural flavors of the lobster or the shrimp, which were, also, seasoned perfectly. I was extremely impressed. I only hope that the rest of my trip is as successful as my visit to Camille’s!

Lovely. Every minute of this meal was a pleasure. The staff were accommodating, genuinely nice, and consummate professional. Let me start with the menu. We ordered(3 of us): 1. Calamari 2. Arugula salad 3. Baked oysters 4. Baked oysters AGAIN 5. Lasagna 6. Shrimp scampi linguini(spicy red sauce) 7. Soft shell crab We were thrilled with every bite. The baked oysters… I cannot say enough, were truly among the finest foods I have ever had in my life. The host was really a cool cat. The crowd were sweet, slightly older in the dining room. But we found them ready dinner soul mates. Several congratulated my pregnant friend on their way out, others said happy birthday to me and my friend who happen to have birthdays around this time of year. It was a crowd equal to the clear mission and values of the restaurant, gracious hospitality and damn fine flavor. Bottom line: if you have a special celebration, call the host at Camille’s and book the first available table. If you simply want a damn good meal, go quickly to this charming institution, which should be on the RI state list of landmarks. Don’t go to Camille’s if you have a bad attitude, rotten spirit, tight wallet, or unruly children. Leave the awesome experience be unless you intend to contribute in a meaningful way.

Top notch. This place is in what appears to be an old historic home located in Providences version of Little Italy(Federal Hill). Great service and food and drinks were great all around. Started with a great homemade soup, server recommended veal parm, and ended with Bananas Foster Crepes(one of the best deserts I’ve had). I would recommend this place and go back. Meals were fairly priced as well $ 25-$ 35

Attended a business type dinner at Camille’s last night. My disclaimer for my review is that nothing on the prix fixed menu for the dinner was something I would have ordered off the full menu. The room we were in, upstairs, was lovely. The staff was top notch. I love their tall/long pours on the wine. The bread/oil and calamari appetizer was amazing. The calamari came with pepperoncini but also had fresh mint which was really, really good. Antipasto plates were also on the table and were gorgeous. I didn’t have anything off that. The salads were absolutely fantastic. My main was swordfish with crab meat, mashed potatoes & green beans. Meh. The crab meat was good but nothing else seemed good enough to warrant the price(had I been paying) & it is not something I would order after already having.

I have eaten here for over the past 30 years and I can honestly say that Camille’s is at its best right now. I decided to have a company dinner here. GEORGE the host was fantastic, the best service and the food was spot on. This is a no Brainer for good food and great service.

When searching for an authentic Italian restaurant for my sisters bridal shower, we thought right away it has to be Camilles. We were blown away by the customer service from the moment we chose the venue to the time the bill was delivered. The bartender, David, was unbelievable throughout the entire shower. He welcomed our guests as if they were his friends as well. I couldn’t have asked for better service or food! All around amazing and I can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Amazing food, wonderful service. Definitely 5 star dining. We had an amazing anniversary dinner with a large family party and couldn’t be happier. Gnocchi was wonderful, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his porterhouse. I can’t forget, one of the best tiramisu and cannoli ever! Hope to have another dining opportunity at Camille’s again.

The staff here was super sweet. Despite accidentally making the reservation for 7:00 instead of 7:30 they still held the chefs table for our group. The venue is dimly lit but it definitely makes it feel more fancy and grand. To make it an easier read I’ll outline what I would definitely order and things I might pass on below: Woohoo: +The raw oysters were definitely my favorite appetizer among the five that we had ordered. They weren’t overly salty, they provided this one unique sauce I don’t normally put on my oysters that really changed the taste +Meat Plate: They had this one meat plate for an appetizer that was pretty good but my favorite part on it were the thinly cut slices of fish that I thought was an add on because normally you don’t have that for your appetizer. +chocolate dessert: for those who don’t love chocolate you won’t like it but for those who do this is it. It was interesting because there was a hard, soft, and kind of mushy layer so it was like you had a ton going on in your mouth. Also I would order it just to see the plate. It was one of the most unique shaped plates I’d ever seen. +Crème Brule: I am personally never a fan so it would be biased to ask me but this was the table hit among all the desserts. +Bolognese: This was pretty good. It’s one of those safe dishes to go with that if you aren’t too much in the mood for something adventurous it has your standard flavors that you can expect. +Ribeye: If you want to be full for 3 days this will be your dish. It is absolutely gigantic and has a pretty great taste if you get it doing medium well. Its huge! Meh –The cheese plate was good but it didn’t have nearly enough bread for everyone to really get a piece for the amount of cheese that was available. –Crab cakes: There was just too much breading on this. That’s all you could taste and all 10 of us agreed. –Rack of Lamb: I am not going to say I am a lamb genius but I do love that meat. Unfortunately I had one rack and couldn’t touch the others. It tasted really crusty and burnt. I was really upset and others who had tried my plate agreed that it was more than mediocre. I got it medium as that was the chefs recommendation. But I will say the mashed potatoes, vegetables, and sauce that is drizzled around was phenomenal! If I could just have that I would be so happy. –Tiramisu: It tasted like a basic tiramisu that I could get at the grocery store and not something I would pay extra to get at the restaurant. They definitely have better desserts. –Ice cream layered dessert: I mainly ordered this because I love pistachio ice cream but I don’t know how it went wrong that it didn’t taste like pistachio at all. Its essentially different flavors stacked on each other so if you don’t like your ice creams in one thing you would like it.

Walking into Camille’s feels like walking into a real-life game of Clue(that board game where you try to figure out who the culprit is in a murder-mystery scenario)…and that’s half the fun. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and dimly lit — decorated like an old, august New England mansion. Besides the ambiance — which is very much on point and well suited for a special occasion date night — the food is tasty as well. The menu boasts dishes that are mostly Modern American with Italian influence. I arrived to dinner too late for appetizers, but as my entrée, I had the grilled salmon(yum, if a tad dry) with blue lump crab(yum), asparagus(yum), and Champagne roasted garlic mashed potatoes(double yum — and I don’t even like mashed potatoes). Knocking my review one star, however, due to the looooooong time it took for our food to be brought out.

You want a nice night out for dinner and have a checklist of stuff you are looking for: –traditional Italian-American food and wine on Federal Hill. –upscale formal white tablecloth dining environment, special occasion/business friendly –ok with pricy so long as there are larger portions, i.e. «enough food» –knowledgeable and professional service workers in uniform If that’s what you want, Camille’s pretty much checks off all the boxes on your list. I’ve mostly come here for business reasons because it’s a safe bet and can accommodate larger parties. While it isn’t my usual cup of tea, Camille’s is one of those classic Rhode Island restaurants that knows what it is, is good at what it does and has been successful for a long time because of it.

This restaurant is by far one of my favorites anywhere in this state. If you are looking for quality, home cooked style Italian good this is the place to go. Almost anything on their menu is perfect to eat. Start off with either the meatballs or calamari both made with the best seasoning and nothing to over powering, these apps will leave you wanting more. My favorite dish is the chicken parm, cooked to perfection with the best sauce you can taste. Perfect for a first date, anniversary or birthday

Old fashioned And reliable Italian food. Nice dining room. Good service. Unfortunately, they ruined my fillet. It was tasteless and overcooked. I enjoyed all the sides it came with though!

Me and the mister went for restaurant week a little while back. Had we not gone during this time of year it would have been a bit pricey. I don’t think we would have come otherwise. Overall, it is a nice place, but a little OTT and pretentious. The food was great and the service was too. I’d be interested to try out this spot in the summer when the patio is open.

Where to begin with Camille’s hmm… let’s start off with the fact that I made a reservation here thinking it was Joe Marzilli’s Old Canteen, so when I showed up and saw that Camille’s was actually behind the Old Canteen one begins to question their sanity and when they notice Camille’s is four dollar signs they begin to sweat, but I digress. Camille’s is a perfect place to take a date, if you’re trying to impress them. I’m just kidding, but it is pretty fancy, well fancy for me anyways. I walked in and immediately thought. was I supposed to wear a tie. I mean the hostess called me Sir, and I still consider myself a kid, so after hearing that I assumed this place must be fancy. There was a live band playing near the bar, and they have seating upstairs and downstairs. We got to sit downstairs near the fire place, which was very nice. The waiter came around and asked me, «Would you like your water still, or sparkling?». My first reaction was, «Umm… Tap?», but it was time to be a grown up so I told him, «I’ll take the sparkling please». Yeah I felt like a boss. The complimentary bread with the dipping oils are dope! Also, the calamari appetizer is to die for… literally I would put my life to the test just to have it again because they were delicious. I look for my calamari to be lightly fried and more towards the just cooked side and they did it too perfection. The next thing I noticed was everyone was drinking wine… I hate wine. I had it once in college and let’s say it didn’t end well so I asked for another drink menu right away. The drinks on the menu were awesome! They have specialty seasonal drinks that all seemed great. I got this cucumber gin drink, which was mostly just gin, but who can complain. The food portions were very large as well. I got the veal parmesan which was bigger than my head. It was huge and covered in so much mozzarella and red sauce and also served with a side of pasta. I didn’t even come close to finishing it, and I tried very very hard. My girlfriend got this seafood medley pasta with a white wine sauce, which I had to sneak a bite and then wished I had got that dish because it was so good! The service was great, the ambience made me feel like I was supposed to have my pinky up the whole night, and when the check came I thought to myself… Is this the wrong check? I knew it would be expensive, I just like to make expensive check jokes. Anyway if you like Italian, a fancy setting, good music, and good times Camille’s is the place for you!

Camille’s is very likely my new favorite place on the Hill. The service is excellent, the décor is classy, and the food is great. I got the filet mignon, which was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly and went perfectly with the whipped potatoes, blue cheese and crispy onion strings. This is one of the best steak dishes I’ve had! My bf loved his veal chop as well. The only negative was that it took quite a bit of time for the food to come out. At the end of the day, though, the food was so good it didn’t matter.

One of my favorite restaurants on Federal Hill(fine Italian food district if you’re not from providence). I like this restaurant a lot because it offers a wide variety of dishes as opposed to some of the other restaurants that offer only super traditional Italian dishes. They also have really great specials every time you come in. I had the veal porterhouse special, and it was excellent! Definitely recommend coming here. Service is excellent. Also they have free valet parking!

Everything about this place was on point. The service, the décor, and most importantly the food. It is a much fancier restaurant but coming from new york/new jersey the price of less than $ 80 for an appetizer, two entries, and a glass of wine is nothing compared to the prices you would pay from my neck of the woods. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We booked reservations about a month ahead just yo be safe since we were road tripping from new York. We ordered the calamari and it was honestly the BEST calamari I’ve ever tasted. The flavors mixed with the fried calamari was to die for! We ordered to pasta entrees, the lagsana and the chicken parm. Both were large portions and enough to bring home. Overall, I was trilled with my dinner at Camille’s. I recommend this place for anniversary dinners, birthdays, and if you’re celebrating something special and want to go somewhere a little fancy.

So I went here for the first time last night. A Saturday night and made reservations for 5:30, arrived early and was seated right away. We were waited on by Allen who was very nice and engaging. What I really enjoyed about this restaurant is that most of the workers there would acknowledge you while walking by and it made it seem like a very respectful environment. I had the lasagna and it was one of the best I’ve ever tried. I would definitely recommend this place for it has a very relaxing and classy style with very good food, you most certainly get what you for!

Being a nice summer day, we asked for a table on the patio. It was very nice, cozy, ample. Our waiter Stephen was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and polite. The meal was good, I had the rack of lamb special with crab cake and it was nice, but not the best I’ve had. My BF got the pasta bolognese and it was good but not great. Our friends got seafood dishes and they loved them… I guess seafood is the way to go here. The service at Camille’s is very attentive and non-intrusive. The food is good and the ambiance, very nice. A good choice on the Hill.
