Kyle and Dennis are incredibly talented. They give you a cut that is precise, on-point, and always stylish. All at a price that is half of their nearest competitor. Kyle, who has been my regular barber at Da Point for over a year and a half now, takes meticulous care to make sure you leave looking better than when you walked in. The shop’s atmosphere is lively and there’s always some entertainment for you while you wait. Whether it’s a conversation or the magazines sprawled out near the«waiting couch», it’s a great, positive atmosphere for all who step in. They also do incredible shoe shines for $ 7. Dennis brought my admittedly disgusting boots back to their former glory in just 15 minutes.

Love DaPoint and the guys, especially Kyle. This is a long sought after barbershop that can give me the cut I ask for. They go the extra mile and have tremendous attention to detail. Plus the price is the best around. In some ways I am reluctant to post this because now you will all go there and it will be tough to get a chair!

Would be 5 stars if it wasn’t for the worst haircut I have ever gotten(and believe me– I’m not that picky about haircuts. I realize that hair grows back and I am almost never unhappy about a haircut). Every single cut I have gotten from Kyle or the other older gentleman(Dennis? I think) has been great and on point. No complaints, they provide great haircuts and reasonable prices and are skilled in what they do. However I would advise that you AVOID the fairly new guy. I don’t know his name but if it’s not Kyle or Dennis it’s probably the new guy. I should’ve known something was wrong when Kyle told him«it’s a simple cut, don’t worry it’ll be fine»… Also for periods of time, Kyle had to step away from the client he was working on to work on me in order to teach the new guy what to do. Dude massacred my hair unlike any haircut I have ever gotten before. My front hairline was so uneven that it looked like«~» except much choppier… I thought, whatever, this could be salvaged but when I came home I found a bald spot, parts of my sideburns and eyebrows were missing and my roommate pointed out to me that there were red scratch marks running all down and across the back of my neck where he had used the clippers/razor too close to my skin over and over and over again. I had mentioned to him that my neck felt itchier than usual during the cut and he had paused and said«hmm that’s weird» and told me that my skin was probably just more sensitive than others, when he probably could’ve seen the red scratches on my neck clearly. This butchered job of a haircut made me understand why girls cry when their haircuts get messed up. :p I learned my lesson and since then always stick to Kyle or Dennis. The last time I was there I noticed that the person getting their hair cut by the new guy also had numerous red lines running across the back of his neck confirming for me that it wasn’t my «sensitive neck skin» but his really amateurish job of cutting hair.

First off, that five star idiot below who(1 star) rated the place off of one guy. If you know who gives you a consistently good haircut, don’t switch it up. Thats just common sense. Besides, it’ll grow back dude, buy a hat. I walked in here for the first time and was cut by Dennis the owner. His attention to detail was outstanding and waiting for him to wrap up with the guy before me was actually relieving because I knew he takes his time to do it right. Coming from Boston I started getting nervous because to get the same treatmemt in my local shops, you need to call ahead, get a babysitter, request time off work, and save up for a few weeks to put a down payment on your haircut. But all said and done Dennis charges $ 15??? I thought he was breaking it up into installments for me or something. Nope fif-godamn-teen-dollars. Dennis also seems to know his barbers’ strong points and will guide a newcomer in the right direction. Small shop, good music, knowledgable barbers, and I think I’ve covered the fairness of the pricing. Tell them what you want, you’ll get it to a «T» and they take credit/debit cards which is rare.

I can usually count on Kyle or Dennis to give me a pretty solid cut, but the random new guys they take on make me NEVER want to go back. I went in today and sat down with a new guy(Kyle was busy and I was in a hurry) and he gave me one of the worst cuts I have ever received. It was asymmetrical, uneven, and just plain sloppy. Dennis was instructing this man how to properly cut hair ASHEWASCUTTINGME! When he was cleaning up my side burns he took the straight razor half way down my jaw(no idea why), leaving me with a weird half-beard look. I never shave my face with razors because I have very sensitive skin and I’m highly prone to razor bumps(which I told him). But I asked him to shave down what was left of my beard to make it all even and then he had the nerve to charge me an extra $ 7 for doing so. Definitely my last time going to Da Point and when I get off work I’m going to the new barber shop on Thayer to see if he can salvage my hairline.
