This small gallery is located in the bottom of Brown’s «List Art Center, a multi-functional building that also includes classrooms, lecture halls, and extensive studio space.» It was introduced to me by a Brown student I was going out with. It is free to come here but usually they have a donation cup. I never know what to expect unless I read the Providence Phoenix(which has just stopped publishing! BOOO!) I know if I go online they’ll have a bit on who they are exhibiting currently. It’s a good idea to find out because since this gallery is a part of the school it isn’t always displaying an exhibit. In the room next to the lobby opposite the exhibit room is a smaller room that is used to hang student works. I enjoy going in there and looking at what is currently going on in their classes. I have seen some excellent artists and I’ve seen some ho hum ones too here. It is unusual to come and have the exhibit room busy. For something that is free it’s a nice spot in Providence that is quiet and introspective like.
