If you are looking for a good, low key place to grab a beer or two and watch a game or just hang out with friends, Elmhurst Pub is a nice option. Located not far from Providence College, this bar seems to get a decent mix of some college students, along with local residents. The times I have been in(Friday or Saturdays usually) it never seems to be packed or too busy and you can normally get a table or seat at the bar. While I have never ate here yet(standard pub food menu), they do have a good selection of draft and bottle beers to choose from… plus they are typically pretty reasonably priced which is even better. Along with good beer I have noticed the service is usually prompt and the staff is friendly as well. It might not be my favorite bar in Providence, but Elmhurst Pub is a good option if you are looking to have a few drinks and not break the bank in the process. If you happen to find yourself in the Elmhurst neighborhood you should give it a try.

I always have a great time here. The wings are IMO the greatest in Providence. I love the staff, Gina’s the shit one of my favorite bartenders of all time. I have the greatest time here. Everythings greatly priced, its a great space, theres an outdoor patio and a jukebox. Its everything you need in a local bar.

Just your average dumpy dive bar, the only difference is that the bartenders are my grandma’s age, and they’re awfully grumpy. I get it, we’re a group of loud twenty-somethings, but it’s a bar. This place wasn’t my cup of tea.

Love this place, the food is on point and they got a full bar with just about anything you would want to drink and Gina is the best bartender you could possibly get and if it wasn’t for my friends I don’t think I would of found this place

Excellent neighborhood bar! You can watch pretty much any game you want on their numerous tv’s. Excellent pub food! My favorite is their pizza… just make sure you tell to chef how much cheese you want. Great atmosphere with an excellent choice of beers. Highly recommended!

I would like to do an update, I recently wrote a review on a bad experience I had with moldy cheese. I am pleased to tell everybody that I have been contacted by the owner of this establishment and I was offered a gift certificate to make up for this bad experience. I appreciate being contacted, and will visit the establishment in the future. It’s good to know that the owner cares about his business and the product that is being put out. Thank you

Love this place! My best friend works here, which is how I first found out about it, but I’m sure that I’d love it even if she wasn’t employed by the bar. It’s a little sportsy for my tastes, but on weekend nights its filled with kids my age — 20s, early 30s — which is a great change of pace from the clientele we see in the bars near my house in Warwick. And once it’s packed on the weekends, most people are just dancing, talking and drinking… there’s not much sports-watching actually taking place. My favorite part about this bar is that the drinks are cheap! And I love all of the bartenders that work here. The food is decent… the wings are awesome, but there’s really only a couple other things on the menu that I like. It’s mostly just frozen stuff that’s been reheated/fried. But it definitely suffices when you’re drunk and hungry! I would definitely recommend this bar to college students and adults in their 20s. It’s a great place to let loose and have fun on the weekend.

This place is a great dive bar. Cheap drinks and awesome wings. They have Sunday ticket and the locals are friendly. I’d go back.

For what they have to offer it’s pretty nice. They have a pool table and dart board. They also have a nice selection of beers and their prices are spot on. The wings are mad good here, but nothing really else. If you come on Wednesdays they are 50 cents each. Get the Thai chili sauce its by far the best. This is a modest little pub that offers a nice place to come and hang out.

The bar had a nice black cherry hard cider on tap, last time is was Angry Orchard. The first two times I went, the two bartenders were overwhelmed, it took an extremely long time to even get a food menu. There were lots of loud college students who didn’t have a concept of personal space. The chicken wings were fine, there was no place to put the bones, though. I ordered the BBQ onion ring burger today, it was burned on the edges and definitely not cooked to medium. Coleslaw tasted funky to me, but the fries were very good.

Eclectic crowd here on a sunday night. Hockey was on, the Oscars were on, and there was a free style rap battle. Had Narragansett Coffee Milk Stout on Tap, which was a delightful surprise. There were a handful of PC students, a handful of old dudes/townies, and a sort of gruff waitress. A new bouncer was also being trained that night probably for when it can get rowdy there on a friday or saturday.

Love this place. Great local hangout with an awesome mix. Students like myself, blue collar working class, and more. Great bar food; wings, pizza, etc. great place to relax and in the spring you can sit outside! Check it out!

This place is absolutely perfect for what it is. The drinks are always good and strong The beer never tastes like a dirty tap and the food is surprisingly fantastic. I’ve been coming here for years for a good reason. Gina is the best and most fun bartender you could meet. You can hang outside in the summer or stay in and play pool or mess around with the Juke Box and Keno. They have more than enough TV’s to keep the sports fans happy and the crowd is always friendly so you never really feel uncomfortable to socialize.

I don’t get this place. Nor the reviews. came here on the first Nfl Sunday. was greeted by a cold clean delicious bud. hmmmm. Good so far. ordered a pizza and wings. honestly as good as I can remember. especially the pizza. Every time I turn around, there is something else coming out of the kitchen that looks better than the last! The well vodka was Swedka… a welcome surprise. Lets not confuse things here. The Yankees suck and this place rules. No more should be said.

I’ve been coming here every Thursday to meet my friends for years. Admittedly, it’s a dive bar but with heart. Here is what you need to know; They pour a stiff no-nonsense drink in a full glass. Essentially, you are getting a double for the price of a single. The food here is good too. It’s no fuss so stick with the basics; wings, pizza, burger, grilled cheese. The fries are decent too, none of that junk sticking to it like the other preserved fries. The crowd; very mixed. The same five old men with there dollar mini beers are cute and social, not creepy. They just appear to hang out and discuss sports. Around that there are a slightly grimy bunch of locals, but don’t worry, they won’t bother you. Often time the usual gaggle of PC kids come, making you feel old. Girls in their see through leggings, hunter boots and north face jackets come rolling in en masse. They literally look like clones so that can be entertaining to gawk at. I think I even saw a kid in Romney sweatshirt which was hilarious to me. They generally come in, hammer back beers and leave together but not often enough to be bothersome. In the summer, they have tables outside which is a nice change. I think why we keep coming back here is simply because the service is great. Gina is the best bartender ever. She’s hilarious, she loves sports and she loves to joust verbally with customers. She never forgets your name and seems to genuinely care about her customers. The other guys are cool too but Gina is why we drag ourselves out every Thirsty Thursday. Cheap drinks and great service! This is what makes the dive bar an American favorite!

The more I come here the more I like it! The service is always quick and friendly. It’s never too crowded which in my old age is a huge selling point. They have the usual mix of beers but always feature some good ones. Arrogant Bastard was on tap when I went. I also noticed Dogfish Head in the cooler. That is huge points in my book. Food is decent pub grub and reasonably priced. The place is nothing fancy and that’s what I like about it. The huge windows offer great people watching in the neighborhood. Some have mentioned it’s a college bar. The many times I have been it’s always less than 25% college kids in my estimation. It’s usually regulars and awesome people like me.

I live nearby, and stopped in one evening on my way home from work. It was a slow night, mostly regulars. They were all very nice, and a few even introduced themselves and were fun to talk to. The service was exceptional. The bartender, John I believe, was prompt and a great conversationalist. The draft beer was cheap and fresh, and they have a great selection of bottles. I didn’t order any hard liquor. All in all, a nice low-key place to have a few unpretentious beers.

It stinks– literally. Not the somewhat quaint, dive bar aroma of stale beer etc… more a putrid something-is-growing-that-could-lead-to-health-concerns. If you do go, make sure your shots(vaccine, not alcohol) are up to date.
