G-Pub is one of those places we frequented when they first opened, and slowly stopped going to, for no real reason at all. We decided to dine there last week. I had the BLT, which I never ever order anywhere! It was actually pretty good! I was impressed! The chipotle mayo complimented it well. My husband had the Eiffel burger, which he really enjoyed. The wings were also pretty good. I had a glass of sangria, which I was also impressed with, seeing that many places don’t have very good sangria. I have heard that it gets super busy on the weekends now, so beware.

Service is abysmal. Most of the barstaff is a combination of inattentive and indifferent. The manager is busy slicing limes while customers are try to order drinks. Finally, watching NBA Finals game that starts at 9pm, and kitchen closes at 10-sharp, with no room for accommodation. Inhospitable, overall.

Came before a show at PPAC. Expected standard pub grub which they do have but everything is kicked up a notch. Everything looked good going by but I opted for something a little healthier and lighter. The salmon entrée came with a sweet pea purée and a nice assortment of veggies with some really awesome chorizo! Crispy skin on the fish. I couldn’t have ask for it to be cooked anymore perfectly and it wasn’t farm raised either! Very impressed with the clam chowder. My girl loved The Cobb salad. You can tell they care about the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Sticky Toffee Pudding is not exactly pudding but get it… trust me. The most impressive thing is that it’s a sports bar. Well done G Pub, we’ll be back to try the chix and waffles which sounded INSANE!

Great Gastro pub atmosphere. Great drink selection, air hockey, shuffle board, homemade jerky. what more can you ask for?

Stopped in for lunch today and had a delightful experience. Service was good and food was delicious. Had the grilled hamburger minus the bbq sauce. It was awesome. My husband had the pulled pork and he said it was good and that’s a lot for him to say. The jalapeño Mac n cheese was just ok… Loved the atmosphere… Will definitely be back

This was my first time here. The service was pretty good but the food was okay. Hits and misses. Hits: beer selection, fries with truffle gravy. The fries were amazingly tasty. I would actually come back just to eat the fries. Also, my friend thought the burger was pretty good. Misses: shrimp and grits was nowhere near a good one. In fact, they should consider taking it off the menu. The shrimp was overcooked and the grits were a cake instead of being smooth. I’ve had shrimp and grits in the south and these do not compare. Also, I was so excited to see the sticky toffee pudding on the menu but it definitely fell flat. One of the best things about sticky toffee pudding is the sauce that is usually drizzled on top but this did not have such a sauce.

This is a really convenient place for a quick bite before a show. The food is good enough and reasonably priced for downtown. My first time here this week, the service was abysmal. The waitress seemed to forget we were there, over and over. The second time there, we sat at the bar and the service was good. Perhaps a Thursday night has more servers than a Tuesday night.

Today was my third time visiting G Pub for dinner. The first time was there I was very happy with the burger I ordered. My second visit was on Feb. 13th and my sister and I asked a number of friends to join us here to celebrate our birthday. Not one person was happy with their food– burgers were all over cooked, fish tacos were missing the sauce, and other dishes were cold. It was the night before Valentine’s Day and they were packed, so we figured that the kitchen was slammed and it was just an off night. Today my sister and I returned wanting to give them another try and once again were quite disappointed with our food. I ordered the brisket quesadillas which had no flavor, were soggy, and the meat was dry and quite fatty on the ends. My sister ordered the fish tacos and with the exception of the sauce drizzled on top, also had zero flavor. The menu seems so innovative, yet they appear to cook with no seasonings and the food is bland. I will say that the truffle fries were amazing, the service is fast, and they have an impressive craft beer list. If I ever make my way back here, it will be strictly for beer and fries.

Stopped in for lunch around 11:30. Seated right away, Our waitress Tinana was very friendly and helpful, explained the menu, got our order in, check on us and got the bill to me right away. Burgers were amazing! Warm rolls with just the right amount of toppings, burgers had a little crunch and were juicy. Best burger I have had in years. Fries were seasoned just right and served hot and crispy. Too often restaurants blow it by serving cold or cheap fries. Not here, G Pub fries are out standing. Check them out

Very cool rustic-style atmosphere, along with delicious food. Everything was reasonably priced which caught my attention, considering most restaurants in Providence. Appetizer portions are perfect and several things on the menu caught my eye, which is a perfect excuse to return! The BLT was delicious I highly recommend, definitely a new favorite spot of mine.

Great modern looking place with a younger attractive crowd. Very long bar with lots of TVs and plenty of tables and booths. 2 shuffleboard tables and 2 pool tables set up in the corner so that youre not getting bumped into while trying to line up a shot. Was a little worried this place was going to be overcrowded, but it was so well spaced out that even during a popular Saturday night UFC fight it was not overwhelming. Will be back for sure!

I wasn’t convinced that G Pub was going to be my type of place but I’m definitely going to go back. 2 pool tables, 2 shuffleboard tables, air hockey. I don’t think that they’re very strict about the times on all of the tables though. So if you’re really interested in playing pool, it might be a while. A lot of groups were using the tables but just kind of standing around near them. Anyhow, this is a cool place full of young people. Good beer list but didn’t get to try the food– the burgers looked awesome. For a Saturday night it wasn’t super packed either. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

This place definitely deserves 5 stars. Hands down. GPub is huge! It has a long bar with several beers & ciders on tap. There’s three different types of seating: booths, chairs, and stools. The stools are attached to two large beautiful wooden tables. There are plenty of TV’s which makes this the perfect spot to come and watch your favorite game. Here’s where the fun begins. Three private karaōke rooms. There’s two shuffle board tables(leave your ID with the Hostess to get the pieces, $ 7 an hour,) two billiards tables, an air hockey table, and a foosball table. Now for the food. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken sandwich and a side of gravy truffle fries. He loved the dill dressing on it along with the bacon and swiss cheese. The truffle fries were delicious with a thick gravy you’d find with biscuits and gravy. I ordered the mac and chili dog and a side salad with balsamic dressing. WOW. First of all, there were TWO hot dogs on the bun. Then a blend of macaroni, cheese, and chili on top with friend onions on top. We each had two drinks. I had moscato and he had a grape fruit beer. The service was amazing. Our server was super personable and helpful. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Atmosphere is really cool, it is set up downstairs with a large bar, many tables, pool tables, and foosball tables. Sat at the bar and the bartenders helped us right away but were not very attentive throughout the stay. There were a lot of people coming up to the bar to get drink orders so it may have just been the amount of staffing on that night. Their craft beer selection is amazing, some on tap but many bottled. We had the food fights wing coupon which brought us there and we were told that the 3 sauces they normally offer was not offered for this promotion. We could only get the peanut butter and jelly wings. Not a big deal but this was the only place that had this stipulation and if we did actually like those wings and wanted to come back, they aren’t on the menu so what purpose does this serve? The wings… wow…horrible…now the sauce itself was ok, peanut butter was cooked in and the jelly was litely drizzled on top but the wing itself was not good. I think the sauce was ok but I am not sure because the texture of the meat in the wing just tasted awful. So maybe it was the sauce and not the wing? No idea but this is the first time in my life I did not finish my plate of wings. I love wings, have loved most of the restaurants on the food fights list so I am not sure what happened here. So this is their selling feature with the food fights to bring in new business and they missed the mark, I have to assume all of the food isn’t great since this was the way to sell it.

I’ve been to G Pub a few times for drinks, but just recently tried their menus. This review is for both the bar and event visits. Atmosphere: G Pub takes the sports pub vibe and gives it an industrial, slightly upscale twist: think exposed beams, drafter’s chairs, a mix of dark and hardwood, and lots of slate and steel. This place is huge, and it shows on a weeknight. However, I’ve been here several times for game day, and it gets packed, no joke. They also have a very cool rec area with foosball, pool tables, and karaōke rooms. Food: Pretty damn good. Oh… you want to know what we ate. Yellowfin Tuna Wrap: AMAZING. A generous portion of tuna, lightly seasoned and cooked rare(as ordered), on a thin and crispy wheat wrap with pickled peppers, arugula, and a miso mayo that blew my socks off. A balanced and delicious sandwich. Cobb Salad: Fresh, cold, huge, delicious. Lots of crumbly bacon. Need I say more? Brisket Quesadilla: Your basic quesadilla with a brisket twist(I guess). Nicely seasoned. Fried Chicken Sandwich/Sweet Potato Fries: Stale bun, Oily fries, which were not worth the $ 5.00 upcharge(sandwiches are served a la carte). Service: A mixed bag. Be prepared to wait a loooong time to get noticed and get served once the bar seats fill up. During the seated meal, our server was friendly and attentive, although drink service(both bar and soda refills) was hard to come by(odd, considering how quiet the venue was). Bottom line: cool vibe, better-than-decent food, inconsistent service.

Underwhelmed! That is the perfect word to use for an experience here. I like the concept of the pub, which is situated downstairs in the main building. I get the Spartan look, it’s very NY, but my problem is the menu and the food. Having been to pubs in the city and around the world, I can only describe this menu as disappointing. The offerings are bland and not much stood out. Ok, one thing stood out. This place wants to be the Capital Grille of pubs with their pricing and their ala carte. There are higher end restaurants in the vicinity that do not do this so why would a common pub? I munched on a Cobb salad, but it wasn’t anything remarkable; standard stuff that even the dreaded chain Gregg’s carries. And I’m sure they have the same distributor. My friend’s sandwich was TINY and only tasted decent. Honestly, I think they need to have the executive chef rethink the menu– this was just a disappointment on every level except service. Our server Jarrod was great.

Updated Menu = Updated review I have been for lunch twice since the new menu and have tried two new options. I was blown away by the new fish sandwich, first off it’s NOT Cod or Haddock with an inch of batter, it’s a delicious thick piece of Snapper with a light crust made from tortilla. Super juicy and super crunchy, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. You can’t go wrong! There are many new items and if you haven’t been in awhile now is a good time to go again.

I’m not sure what I expected when I heard the name GPub, but it definitely was not what I found. GPub is this interesting mix of sports bar and posh hotel restaurant. They have everything from shuffle board, pool tables, and karaōke rooms to big comfy leather booths and beer garden-like benches. There are big flat screen tvs plastered everywhere. Despite this feature, this can really be a place for anyone. GPub has a huge selection of beer, everything from Budweiser to beer that tastes exactly like rootbeer. The bartenders are friendly and helpful whether you want whiskey, a cocktail, or just a cold one. The food is absolutely delicious. Really gourmet food. Everything is tasty from their nachos to their dessert. The food is definitely not your typical sports bar food. There is a good comfort food selection, but the food is more on par with sophisticated hotel restaurant food. Overall, GPub is a nice place to go no matter what the occasion. Unless you are a big sports fan and ready for loud bros, I would avoid GPub on big sports nights.

Came here for lunch while I was in Providence. This place had a cool look to it and apparently it was an old Gas Company building. Lots of concrete. We were seated immediately because we were pretty much the only people in there at this hour. We were trying to figure out what we were going to drink, because it was 11:30 in the morning, when we saw it. Avast!!! On the Taps over yonder! Many Heavy Seas brews to choose from! Ironically they had a Heavy Seas tap takeover the night before and then our decision became much easier. Bring on the Strong Scotch Ale! Great brew, definitely give it a go if you see it on tap anywhere. Anywho, to the food. Since we went strong on the beer game I went weak with my lunch and got the ceasar salad. Nothing special here, standard ceasar, move along. We did order the BBQ nachos to start though, although our waitress forgot to put them in and they didn’t come out until after we received our entrees.(This was bad because we were literally the only ones in the place.) No biggie though, we still jammed on them without question. They were good. I would definitely recommend giving them a go. Overall, had an OK experience here. Nothing terrible, but nothing that knocked our socks over.

Great design for the space, the furnishings are nice, the trivia and karaōke are fun, lots of beer selections, very nice service… but the food. I don’t know if I’ve just gotten unlucky, but I’ve had mostly bleh so-so food in multiple visits, and personally, I think the cost needs to come down or the goodness needs to go up to justify what I’m paying here. I do like a lot about G Pub – and I’ll keep giving it a shot b/c it’s got so much going for it – but the kitchen needs to step it up. There’s too many great restaurants and potential J&W star chefs in the making in this town to not have good food, all the time, no exceptions.
