Went here for the first time last night. The menu was pretty limited and uncreative, the food was OK, the dipping sauces were among the worst I’ve ever had, and the service was so bad I’m ashamed we even left a tip. We basically got ignored most of the time. No drink refills, etc. I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while, but unfortunately it didn’t make the cut for the good food & service we have in the area. Go to the Fix Burger Bar in Worcester… It’s life changing food & always great service, only about 40 minutes away.

You know what I don’t love? Ordering food and drink at 11 and not receiving food or a check back for over 73 minutes. Yes… I timed it. No food, no hello, no drinks, NOTHING. No burgers. Just disappointment.

I am always craving burgers anywhere, anytime. Strolling through Providence, I recalled a friend of mine recommending Harry’s Bar & Burger, which was within walking distance. Upon entrance, there is a sign saying«wait to be seated». There is a full bar to the right, additional seating on the second floor straight, and an another room behind the bar room with the kitchen. Atmosphere is chill, for Harry’s Bar & Burger is great college go-to place to grab food and drinks. The list of beer they serve is pretty extensive, and their menu is creative too with some seasonal items. FOOD: Only certified hereford beef. Freshly ground, hand made daily. 2 sliders per order, but you can add an extra for 3. They serve other items if you are not in the mood for some yummy sliders. Fungus Among Us(3/5, Harry’s Classic Cheese, Portobello Mushrooms, and Truffle Aioli): This was kind of disappointing, not sure what it was. In addition, my companion and I both agreed it was slightly salty. This was simple, flavorful, and just okay for me. Harry’s Meltdown(4/5, Harry’s Classic, Swiss Cheese, and Caramelized Onions): I ordered these after reading caramelized onions. After my first bite, I knew this would be one of my go-to’s if I returned to Harry’s Bar & Burger. However, Harry’s Meltdown can be get a little messy due to the caramelized onions. Tender, simple, and tasty. Sweet Potato Fries with Kryptonite Aioli(3⁄5): I was pretty excited to try these for some odd reason. Maybe because I was having some fries craving after a long time. These tasted like frozen sweet potatoes deep fried, but the sauce made up for it. It is different(unique and refreshing somewhat) but goes great with the fries and sliders. Fries are crispy on the outside. I personally did not order any of the shakes but would definitely order one with the sliders. One of my companions ordered the chocolate shake, which was a solid choice. Service was just decent. I had to wave down at the end to get my check and extra water. I believe with a few tweaks, this place could be much better. I would recommend checking this place out during the happy hour time — there could be a crowd though. **Half priced burgers 3−5PM daily, dine in only with beverage purchase.

Delicious sliders(no full size burgers) — great sweet potato fries — happy hour specials — hipster atmosphere — will definitely return ASAP!

It’s very small inside and we were seated at the table next to the restroom door(literally. it’s like a restroom door you would find on a Greyhound bus) so that wasn’t too pleasant and made for awkwardness when other people were waiting for the restroom. The service was okay but I ordered the portabella burger and they forgot to give me the meat… The alcoholic milkshake we got was very good thought.

I came here for lunch a few days ago for the first time on my first visit to Providence. I sat at the bar. The back room, which is small, was filled to capacity. I ordered a couple of the sliders and thought they were good, not necessarily outstanding. The service was fine; the bartender who waited on me was friendly. The atmosphere was nice, but it is a pretty small place. This seems like it would be a good place to grab a beer with a friend at the bar.

My friends and I came in and our server sat us right away. Everyone told me the burgers were delicious here(sliders) so I had high expectations. I ordered a side of fries with my portabella burger with truffle aioli. The patties were super thin and the burgers themselves weren’t worth the money. I had a sliver, ¼th slice of mushroom with it as well. The quality wasn’t what I was expecting and I found it very disappointing. The chocolate milkshake I ordered wasn’t anything special– it was simply vanilla milkshake with chocolate syrup — not even derived from chocolate ice cream. Finally, it was cold outside so my friend got us an über. As we were patiently waiting for our sever, we noticed what looked like the manager(he was standing in the corner with a pencil behind His ear with a business casual shirt on with some sort of authoritative manner) looked at our table with the check waiting to be paid and blatantly ignored out able and turned his back against us toward the bar. We became desperate to leave as the phone call came from our über driver and I was really turned off by the managers attitude: thst itself will prevent me from further going to this establishment. I wish I could say better things about this place since everyone highly recommended it but I would have to say it’s quite the contrary

Don’t like gay people? I went to this bar with my boyfriend this week and had an «interesting» experience. I was told this is one of the best burger spots in the city and expected reasonable service. I made a big mistake coming here. First our server was hostile to us for no clear reason. I didn’t understand what this attitude was about at the time as we were very kind and polite but it become clear where he was coming from as the meal progressed. The bartender was a woman who never made eye contact and at one point bent over to grab a glass and told my boyfriend«look the other way.» She was sporting so much cleavage that she was exposed, knew it, and had the nerve to tell my date to turn his head… As if he’d be interested in a 40 something bigot… I asked for a refill of wine and the same girl, without a word, poured a measuring glass partway and left it next to my empty glass. She wouldn’t take 10 seconds to even pour my wine. When I informed another server about this I was told this is a «local» restaurant. I guess they don’t like«out of towners»… Please stay away from this place

Service as slow as molasses. It’s so dirty, I couldn’t even fathom going into the bathroom, never mind actually ordering something to eat. Strange, somewhat seedy bar regulars left me with no choice but to get the tab after one«specialty» Bloody Mary. I wasn’t impressed with that either. I will, however, give this place commendation for their burger descriptions…

I’ve always like large portions of food. So sliders never felt like they would be for me. But boy was I wrong! Harry’s sliders are cooked to perfection with lots of cool toppings. I like my burgers more traditional so my favorite(by far) is the MOAB. I usually always get this one. The chili and mushroom sliders were good but the MOAB was the stand out! I also had the grilled chicken sliders which were surprisingly really good as well! Drink wise. I would suggest there Bloody Mary. There is. Whole lot going on in there. Thick bacon. Celery salt. House made bacon and japalpeno vodka. So delicious!

Harry’s is like that really hot girlfriend that you had, whom you had to break up with because she couldn’t carry a conversation, or put together a full sentence without smacking her gum. The first few dates are amazing, the beer list is spectacular, the burgers are delicious, and the sweet potato fries are to die for. She’s attractive, and she’ll woo you if you’re not careful. Plus, she’s petite, if you don’t mind a little claustrophobia. As time goes by, you realize that she’s of questionable morals, and your family doesn’t approve. The service is painfully slow(we waited an hour for our food on a slow Sunday), and the waitresses have the personalities of White Walkers, except the White Walkers will make eye contact. Which is hard, because they’re dead. With a few tweaks, this place could be amazing. I hope she calls me back when she’s turned her life around.

Emily and Adam’s Rating: 10⁄10 What first was just a convenient pit stop for a drink is now one of our favorite spots to eat in Providence. For a burger aficionado(i.e. Adam), it more than passes the test. For a foodie who usually avoids burgers at all costs(i.e. Emily), this is her one exception. From the cowhide booths to the makeup sign on the bathroom door and the chalkboard wall as you walk upstairs, Harry’s is just the right amount of quirky and fun in a casual, classic dive. Harry’s calling card is its sliders; you only need two to feel satisfied but, if you’re especially starving, three does the trick. Each in the long list of burgers is worth a try – while you want to experiment, you also don’t want to veer away from your staples on the menu. For Emily, it’s the black bean burger, a spicy black bean patty topped with crispy potato sticks that provides a crunchy kick that you don’t want to miss. For Adam, it’s simply the classic – two regular patties with cheddar cheese done to perfection. And you have to try the fries; whether you go for the salt and pepper cheese fries or the sweet potato fries with a mysterious, yet divine green sauce. And lastly, it may be worth it to splurge on one of Harry’s boozy milkshakes. Prices are incredibly cheap – and if you feel like eating on an off-hour, your burgers are half-price. This is one staple that we bring our friends to time and time again – and always impresses as the top burger joint in Providence.

Visited Providence for 1 day and saw an ad that said these were the best burgers in the country, so of course we had to try them! Luckily we came for lunch and they had a special going on. We got two sliders, fries and a drink for around $ 10. It was a good lunch, but the burgers were kinda small and good but… the best? Maybe overselling it even as a gag was not a good idea. Staff weren’t super friendly either, ok we look like out-of-towners but be nice! The ambience is fun, a rather small place but probably the best burgers… in Providence.

I reaaaaally wanted to give Harry’s 4 stars, and with my first experience here I definitely would have. After my experience last week, unfortunately, I just can’t. I’ve only been to Harry’s twice, and I will say that I’m going to give it a third try to officially decide if I’ll be back. My first experience was wonderful. Even though our food took forever, our server was super apologetic and even gave us complimentary dessert for waiting so long(there was a large party that had just input their order before us). The food was delicious and in my opinion, worth the wait. The perfect portions(all the burgers and sandwiches are sliders) and generous, especially with the cheese fries. My most recent experience was less than stellar. Our waitress was really nice and quick with bringing our food out. We sat at a table right across from their nearly open kitchen. I say«nearly open» because it’s a tiny kitchen occupied by three cooks with a large window. You can see every move they make including touching their faces, running their fingers through their hair, and not changing their gloves. I used to work in the restaurant industry and know that open kitchen or not, all of the above actions are very unsanitary. I don’t think they realized that people can see what they’re doing. I also will note that I found two hairs in my food, and I said nothing even though I should have. It could’ve been from anything, so I didn’t want to make a fuss. I have to say that I’m a little bit of a germaphobe and I hate hair, but still! I will say that Harry’s has a nice drink selection and is a good place to try some different kinds of burgers and indulge in some fried-food-goodness. I will definitely be back because I’m still holding out hope for them.

After hearing so many people rave about the sliders at Harry’s Bar & Burger, I was really excited to go with all of my housemates and check it out. I was disappointed to find the food very average. I’m not as into sliders as thick, juicy burgers, but I found the sliders bland and the meat not particularly tender. The fries were also average. Since so many people swear by this place, I went back and gave it another try, but still found the food mediocre. The sliders seemed slightly overcooked and just weren’t very juicy. It was a cute place and enjoyable atmosphere, but I can’t say I understand the hype over this place.

So first — this place is cheap and great for big groups of people who don’t care about health. The regular sliders — we chose the MOAB — were just kind of meh — nothing great but for under $ 10, what can you say? I did, though, really like the chicken sandwich — something like a chicken patty + BLT. You get two sliders of those as well. That was quite a nice surprise. The fries are fine but likely just frozen potatos deep fried. The sweet potato fries are served with a terrrrrible sauce that tastes like eggy guac. Don’t bother — get another set of sliders instead.

This is a sweet college-town spot that I’d recommend to anyone who happens to be in the area. Full disclosure: I’m an incredibly picky eater, and if I would have come here hungry, I would have been in major trouble.* That being said, I came to drink some cider, not to eat a bunch of sliders! The sweet potato fries I ate were top-notch, but the burgers my fella ordered were untouchable in my book. He enjoyed them completely, and we hit some kind of happy hour special, so they were super cheap. The service here was great, and it was a fun place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. –1 star because there was literally nothing on the menu I would have eaten as an entrée. *Please note that the author of this review does not eat burgers, hot dogs, chili or reconstituted meat of any kind. It’s partially a texture thing, but mostly because things that are ground up and slapped back together are just plain icky. Additionally, I don’t eat bell peppers or onions because they make me sick… so yeah. Not a lot of options for someone like me! Maybe grill a portobello and put it between a couple buns?

Stopped in here on a whim after a business meeting and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. Upon first walking in, I noticed it was quite a tiny restaurant. I believe there is an upstairs seating area but I did not see it, so my review is simply for the downstairs part of the restaurant. It was a cozy and hip place, playing indie hip hop and upon walking in, the servers and bartender were very friendly and helpful. I opted to sit at the bar and order the B.L.C(Bacon Lettuce and Chicken) with a side of fries. I got two slider-sized burgers and they came out quick. They were absolutely delicious — the bacon and the cheddar melted in my mouth and the chicken was made perfectly. It was juicy and tender(man that sounds gross to actually say or write) and the french fries? Delicious! I’m really interested in trying out their other burgers. You can tell that Harry’s definitely knows what they’re doing in the burger world. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: «I’ll be back.»

I don’t know how I’ve lived in Rhode Island for a year and a half and am only now discovering the wonder that is Harry’s Burger Bar. I actually want to thank the Unilocal!community because I was writing an article on Bloody Mary’s, and someone discussed the Bacon Bloody Mary, which is what prompted my visit. So THANKYOU! First of all, Harry’s not only has a Bacon Bloody(bacon-infused vodka, garnished with a crispy slice of bacon), they also have the Classic Bloody and the Bloody Murder From Hell(sounds inviting, no? jalepeno-infused vodka, I believe). But when I go back, I’m trying one of their mudslides or shakes because… WOW. Dessert drinkers’ delight. And the sliders are, of course, awesome. Their half price from 3 – 5 happy hour deal can’t be beat. Dario the bartender took care of me like a champ. He even tested my brain strength with Narragansett coasters(because he knows them all!) And the sweet potato fries are a must! I will definitely be back!

Alright, make sure you keep a box of kleenex in your man purse. Select the slider of choice and try not to make a mess in your trousers. These guys are spectacular in making their burgers. My burger(M.O.A.B.) is historically destructive my friend. Bacon, mushrooms, cheese and French fried onions. When their powers combine, here comes captain planet. Weeeeeee!!! The fries are in a different level son. Sweet potato sticks then you dip them in their kryptonite aioli, OMG! I don’t know what they put in that mayo, but I can bet you it’s close to the Heizenberg Blue product. Their service is kick ass, their staff is hella friendly and the bartender working that day is such a delight. Anyways, come eat here cause it’s freaky awesome. Make sure you never miss this spot before leaving Providence. Weeeeeee! Life is awesome when the glass is always half full.(«,)
