Kennedy’s Fried Chicken

I love this place. Old and run down but super clean. The food is fresh right in front of you and cheap as can be. Well worth the trip to Olneyville.

it’s been five years of Kennedy. I know what I’m getting — everytime :). I’m getting fried chicken, that was not killed yesterday. I’m not from Whole Foods, I’m not from the East Side Market. I’m not a student, or a whatever, I’m from Providence, and I like this place a lot. Nuff said. If you’re a snob, piss off.

The place smells like the overused oil it fries and refries its food with. My meal was destined for the landfill.

I’m going to start this off by saying these people have only seen me hungover. There is really no point in going here unless you’re drunk or recovering from being drunk. That said, if you’re in Olneyville and you have problems, it’s either Kennedy or tacos.
Pictures of almost all menu items make it easy to order if you’re not exactly running on all eight, and low prices mean that even if you drank most of your paycheck the night before, forgiveness is only $ 6 away. Service is fast and friendly with no questions asked, such as «What the fuck is wrong with you?»
The best thing I’ve had is the straight up fried chicken, which tastes like they make it there, anything that looks like it’s from a package in the freezer probably is (including the macaroni and cheese, which is advertised using the actual family-​sized box from Stouffer’s). My only complaint is that the french fries are both awful and abundant– this place uses them like packing peanuts for their meals, and sadly, they taste about the same.
While Kennedy Fried Chicken may not be the product of our culinarily-​inclined city’s best and brightest, sometimes it’s just in the right place at the right time. An essential detour on the walk of shame!

Tasty, greasy fried chicken and the works. The service was good, the counter guys were friendly, and the food was cheap.
Good, cheap, comfort food.
