Love their chicken Its very crispy and flavorful both the chicken skin and the meat itself We got a 12 pc chicken, came with 3 mashed potato, biscuits and macaroni Good deal for the price for what we are paying for. They even have burger, ribs, seafood selection, dessert and even ice cream For some people they might hesitate to go to this area For us, no big deal at all They are located on the corner lot next to a laundry place I will definitely try other item on their menu

CFC is crack. I had been going here regularly when my friend lived in Mount Pleasant, but hadn’t been in a few years so I came back last night. It’s EVENBETTER now. Back then, the staff was always warm and kind(maybe because I tip?) but now they have really nice uniforms(i know, I know) and are just as sweet. You can see the kitchen, and it’s pretty darn clean. Same with the front of house. This isn’t Kentucky Fried Chicken, where most of the chicken is under a heat lamp for a long time. Yes, they use the heat lamps, but there isn’t A LOT of chicken like you see at KFC. I always order the wings or chicken fingers anyways. so they’re made to order. I believe the chicken is also pressure fried, which is the best way of frying in my opinion. It’s tasty, never over or under cooked, and a bang for your buck. $ 8 for 6 huge chicken tenders and fries? You got it! The french fries have a delicious seasoning, and it’s not too over powering. Yes, there is no parking lot, and you do have to park near a really busy intersection of Mount Pleasant Ave and Atwells Ave, but just make sure you don’t get run over as you enter/exit your car. The food is always packaged well to go as well. I need to start coming here more often. It’s worth the wait when you get something that’s made to order and tastes delicious.

This chicken is addicting! The place is very local and convenient, service is warm and friendly, it’s almost always busy, and my friends demand I bring what they’ve dubbed«crack-chicken» when we’re doing pot lucks. I very often run in for a couple pieces w fries and the great seasoned salt, or even just one piece. Such a convenient menu. Their hot wings are great too. Fried fish is breaded, not battered, for those who prefer that. Their fried apple pies are crispy and delish, but you have to wait a few minutes because they cook them as ordered. You can call ahead and order, or walk up to counter, eat in or take out. Can’t remember details, but they use a good quality, healthier oil, which is good because I eat this way too much, LOL! The staff is friendly always, and is what initially brought me back so often. Nice to have that neighborly feeling. The only reason not 5-stars is the sides are kinda lacking in quality IMHO. Parking is also chaotic. Stay on the street if you can.

Not the best place I’ve ever been to, but okayyyy. I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken combo with macaroni salad and mash potatoes that were forgotten(dahm). The dinner rolls that came with it looked like it came straight out of the bag. The buffalo wings didn’t taste very buffalo-ey at all, except it was still good… it was more like a honey bbq/buffalo taste. Someone said this chain is better than KFC. I would have to disagreee… One good thing is that I went on a Sunday night and the place doesn’t close until 2am, so that’s a plus. I’m dying to try this place at another location because everybody hypes it up, but this one was a bit disappointing. If you need food late, this is the place to go. Otherwise, I would’ve probably went to a local KFC.

One of the great restaurant business mysteries on the East Coast — the shadow empire known as Crown Fried Chicken. Perhaps you’ve seen them while driving in certain urban neighborhoods throughout NY; PA; RI; NJ and even Maryland. They openly challenge the Kingdom of KFC with their blatant use of similar colors for their storefronts, similar names and often the same initials. KFC has tried for years to legally squash these operations, but since they are not part of one large corporation, and usually are not even franchised but mere copycat establishments, it’s like trying to go to every flea market in the country and nab the dvd bootleggers who would be selling you Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Bee Movie’ on dvd when the film has just opened in the theaters — pretty much an impossible task. You just have to laugh and try their chicken. This particular satellite wing of the Crown dynasty is located a few miles past the Italian Federal Hill section of Providence, where the area is mostly Latino businesses — a section of town that the tourists who visit«the Hill» would most likely avoid. To be very honest, my first visit was startling because the place was so shiny clean both in the customer area, and looking back into the kitchen — in fact so much cleaner than you would see at some of the overpriced, trendy, next to the million dollar condo development restaurants. The chicken is really pretty good. Not overly greasy and with a crispy skin that has a hint of seasoning but nothing like the spiced skin you’d get at KFC or Popeye’s. I cannot recommend the sides, which for this visit were rolls, mashed potato and gravy and macaroni salad. The rolls were on the stale side, the mashed was not super flavorful and more pasty, and the macaroni salad was so heavy with a cheap vinegar taste, it was difficult to eat. Of course on the next visit I would still probably get some sides because I’m a sucker for using my roll to scoop out the mashed from those little containers. The restaurant has many other menu items such as sandwiches, burgers, gyros, pizza, and deserts. Curious about the little sweet potato pies… must make another visit… want more fried chicken…
