As a mother, I have come to appreciate this colorful, creative store even more because now a great deal more of their selection makes sense to me! Amazing bags, baggies, clothing, decorations, toys, accessories… all made from adorable cloth with immaculate attention to detail. I’ve been here more times than I can count and don’t plan on changing the habit! Something else I want to share: if you have a ratty but special piece of furniture(like a hand-me-down antique sofa, etc.) that you’re trying to get rid of, rather than leave it on the side of the road or haul it to Saver’s, take it here! They’ll breathe new life into is as a brightly-printed and exceptionally reupholstered piece of art. Who doesn’t love that?

I love a bargain. This will give a bit of insight into why I bought a Rowe chair off Craigslist for $ 100 and… confession…have stored it in the garage for the last four years. A waste of space until Kreatelier transformed it into a one-of-a-kind gem. Pernilla and the Line are true artists with a customer service focus. They helped me isolate two fabrics, so my run of the mill seat became a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine(see before and after pictures). Top pillows are reversible, giving me two looks in one. Truth be told, it is expensive to reupholster. You’ve got the cost of fabric plus the labour. With this said, I have never regretted spending a single penny. Open seven days a week = convenient! Now, let’s all make a pact to clean out the garage so we can upcycle and make space for the car.

Absolutely loved meeting Lisa! She made the most beautiful pillow out of my dad’s old flannel shirt… I will be forever grateful for this beautiful memento! Awesome store– one of a kind!

Adorable. Simply precious. Plus, they do custom curtains, which I give an A+++. Lovely little store. I highly recommend dropping by… You won’t want to leave.

Such a FUN store with fabric designs quite unusual for the sort of «staid» state that is RI. I frequently bemoan the fact that RI simply does not have places to shop with funky, unusual(yet still tasteful) items. There are a paltry few of these shops — and Kreatelier is one of them. Two women got together a few years ago and combined their style and abilities to sew and upholster, and thus, Kreatelier was founded! I have been going there regularly since they opened — they always have something interesting to look at and/or purchase — be it aprons, artwork on the walls, lunch bags, backpacks — you name it — made of the most fun fabrics. I am going there tomorrow to sort through their fabric catalogs because I want to cover a piece of furniture. Since Kreatelier just popped into my mind, and since I just love this place, I wanted to be sure to stop and Unilocal!about — it deserves all five stars(and more!) which I’ve assigned to it. RI needs more unique and individual shops — sad that there are so few. Thank heavens for Kreatelier!!!(On Hope Street, on the East Side, not far from Seven Stars Bakery — another fave of mine).

Unique arts and crafts store. Lots of locally made stuff at a goos price. Plus they have an artist studio area. They also have classes available. Amazing! I am so glad to find this little gem.

This is my absolute favorite store in Providence! Pernilla ans Line are fabulous and have literally decorated my entire home. Their fabrics and styles have helped me make my home ‘me’ and I can’t recommend them enough. My kitchen curtains are vibrant and the focal point of our eating area. My two, newly upolstered chairs offer comfort, style and the original frame/legs to match the ‘old and new’ furnishings in my home. Check them out– they are always finding new treasures and doing amazing things with them!

This shop just makes you feel happy when you go in. The owners are wonderful and the workshops are fun. They have a variety of really different items and jewelry — just a great place and fun!!! They sell work from many local artists and are very creative. If you travel to Hope Street to shop — make Kreatelier a desitination for sure!

Anything you want, made out of fabric. Headbands, bags, ornaments, pillows, belts, other cute things I’m not remembering… all in adorable prints — and not just ones my grandmother would love. Obviously with such craftmanship the items can be a tad pricey, but with the worktable visible and the lady behind the counter sewing you know they’re not faking it and selling sweatshop’d goods. If the store inspires you to create, there’s a class for that. I have to stop myself from browsing in here too often, because I’ll walk away with things I don’t need but can’t bear to part with as gifts for others.

Abounding Uniqueness It’s a small shop, nestled in between other cool little places on Hope St. none of which have 12,000 locations across America and Puerto Rico. Whew! With a couple of exceptions, the whole street is a breath of fresh air from the chain store invasion. The shop has multiple personalities. They sell nifty lifestyle and eco-friendly storage and carrying gadgets like bags and caddies. They also have handmade items like reusable coffee cup sleeves, decorative mobiles, and wooden knicknacks made by a carpenter’s scraps. They also have classes and workshops for farts and crafts. They also seem to do upholstery. And they have a cache of materials and fabrics you’ve never seen anywhere. Bold, colorful, and unusual. Pay them a visit. Ask lots of questions since there’s more than meets the eye here.
